My 8 year old has a powerful swing, but he's striking out because he's trying to swing UP at the ball, like a golf swing. How do I fix this? I've tried everything I can think of.

This is the transition from backswing to forward swing in golf and tennis ...which is most critical
bingo!
Is 5 years old too young to be teaching? Thanks 🤙🏼
Absolutely not! Teach em launch when they come out of the womb 🤘🤘
Do you have anything on hand load variations? Struggling here to find something that works
were you loading here? Im not sure if the load is sublte looking or if it should be more exaggerated? im not picking up on any intial movement in the hips prior to launch? Im struggling on how to explain to my 9 year old what loading really is (shoot i probably dont really know myself).
I have videos dedicated to teaching hip load🤘
In all my years of coaching, I have never seen a hitting instructor talk about when to load/launch to be a good in-game hitter. I teach them to do it on the pitch wind up just before release, thoughts?
When the pitcher lifts his front foot is a good time to start loading as a general rule, but velocity of pitcher will vary and dictate adjustments
At one point during the pitchers delivery should the launch position be (front foot strike)

When/How to sync our sequence(start from load ) with a pitcher... so that we get the good site of the ball(release point of pitcher )...need a detail demonstration & drill.. tnx in advance
It’s feel, practice and feel when you start loading. Everybody is different. Just something I’ve learned over time of talking and teaching.
@@zacturf-n-sports6203 to be a short & simple "trial & error method"?🤔
What is the reason you have your kids start in launch position? Is it beneficial in anyway? I cannot get my son to load on time. He’s always late! I’m wondering if it would help him to start in launch during practices?
How old is your son. Loading early is best
If he’s young leave him alone. Just work on good athletic comfortable stance. Loading hands is most important. Keep hands even with armpits and use hips to drive through. People ruin kids teaching too much. Give them fundamentals and then rep rep rep
Good stuff right here
Could you explain why you don’t want to be in launch position at either a reverse 45 degree angle (knob pointed towards home plate or knob past perpendicular to the ground?
Because unless your name is Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Paul Goldschmidt, or Ronald Acuna……a perpendicular barrel at launch causes huge disconnect issues. I should have known you’d have come with that question; you were thinking about Ted Williams weren’t you😉 hope all is good man
@@hittingdoneright 😅yes sir you know that’s my guy
@@hittingdoneright I’ve actually only seen one major league player with a reverse 45 degree angle at launch and I think it was Ken Boyer I’d have to look it up though to be sure.

Well not to the extreme as I thought but it definitely past 90 going towards home plate
Just took video of my team and broke down all their swings. Out of 10 girls only about 3 girls have a decent to good launch position, safe to say Tonight's practice is going to be a demo and stressing the importance of Launch. I will be sending them all this video for them all to watch. Thanks!!
Can you explain what the posture should look like. I know spine at ~45 deg, but is it as simple as athletic position - Knees over toes and shoulders over knees?
Hope it helped!!!! Athletic position for launch, spine angle will vary with players but your description is a good starting point for players. Tell them stick their rear end out as their front foot approaches the ground, this simple cue usually does the trick!
