Thanks for showcasing floatplanes. I hope in career mode they add a more missions variety for floatplanes. I started my career in Alaska. Began in Anchorage and making my way to Fairbanks and eventually all over.
Anyone that knows me will know that im a floatplane fan. Lost track how many float planes flights ive flown in 2020 even with no physics of any kind. So I been loving the new water physics in 24. Landing in choppy waters is rather challenging. You are right about pontoon planes compared to flying boats. Flying boats can handle far more chop. I haven't tried the big Latecorere 631 yet in 24 but will soon. Sadly my Dornier Do J and Do X hasn't ported over to 24 yet. So yeah, i really like what they done so far with the water and waves effecting the planes. Oh and btw, when you zoomed out @21:24 it looked like a real overhead aerial view from a drone.
7:28 huh, AvAngel can walk on water, she is a literal goddess! I knew it! Your laugh after that is epic 😂 I'm still 50/50 on MSFS2024, I think I'll hold out for a bit longer.
Gorgeous water effects!😅 I do hope that bit of stuttering on take off from the Airport gets better because on a high end pc like yours that should be smoother 😮If you like this region and Belka Coola, try flying in the Rockies on the Alberta/BC border. ❤
@AvAngel That was one hell of a landing! Bravo. I doubt I could have saved that one. Thanks you for another fun showscase of the Albatross. Glad you're enjoying it! I agree with all your comments on the water by the way, hopefully it will improve over time. The plane still needs a couple of tweaks in that area as well, but water interaction is still very much undocumented witchcraft in the sim. When it works it works really well, and when it doesn't... well... Also, there are global problems with water physics in TIN areas currently. It's not behaving correctly. Asobo's aware of them. The area you're flying in is fine though. Speaking of tweaks... You're missing out on some neat windshield effects I spent many many hours implementing, and which will make those landings into the sun just a little more realistic, and possibly scary. Can you please try running with "Raymarched Reflections" set to Ultra and "Windshield Effects" set to high? There is a bug in the UI where setting them to high or ultra doesn't stick. To fix that, set "Global Rendering" to Ultra and then reduce the other things you want to, but leave those other two at their max. I think you'll find it worth checking out. :) Thanks again!
I will when I can, but right now between the servers and my own settings im still struggling to get solid performancce but I will raise those when I can! As for the water... yeah, this is the weird bit.. I've seen far more realitic performance on water from flying boats than float planes. I suspect it's to do with relative position from float points to the reference datum location... or simply LONGER floating contact area vs the short 'visible' floats... that perhaps setting contact points 'invisibly' further out on float planes may stabalize them more from the skipping.
Don't know why, but watching all that water splashing somehow Bobby Darin comes to my mind: "Splish-splash, I was taking a bath Long about a Saturday night, yeah .....singdidelsumblablawistlepfpfpf ...." ;-)
Not very, but it is fun. I flew bush planes with a float endorsement. I love re-creating some of my bush flights in Ontario. Can't really blame them though, getting the physics right for this would be hard to do...
@AvAngel i love your channel but can you talk a little bit slower? I have tinitus and am 61 years old and i have to keep rewinding back to get an idea of what you are saying as you speak so fast!
It is way different then 2020, huge step up in 24. In 2020 water didn't even have physics at all. I tried landing in choppy waters off the coast of Sable island. I tried over 15 times and could not land. I have over 2500 hours in flight sim and at least half or more of that is with seaplanes and flying boats. It's what I do

Walking on water! ....😮
Always knew your special Avangel!!
( great fun again thanks)
AvAngel that walk on water! Miracle! 😂😂😂😂😂
You gotta love those hot sauce on crab, landings.
You can click shift+c to enter the plane no matter how far away
A real angel walking on water!

you can check wheels up, looking through the little round window, in the cockpit floor

"Thank you, Karen" 😂

Horrid, the water is still like 3m deep. Planes hit invisible barriers sigh
:D
Yust one question. How is in term of performance compared with MSFS2020?
If you are using the Bravo throttle setup - do you, or can you, use the trim wheel? It works on some planes for me but not on many.
Yep it works for me, seemed better than 20 too!
The last landing is absolutely insane.😳
I'm a specialist at insane.
Thanks for the video.
If you open the door in flight, the flight stops, on the ground I don't now that can be possible.
Regards
Cardboard plane lands on blue matrese. Msfs2024...
Still missing water on the windows. :(
Yeah, and you *do* get that in the rain, so I know the sim is capable of that.
Wait that island looks so pretty to fly out of and into. Can you share the airport code for that I definitely want to fly there.
CBBC Campbell Island and CYJQ Denny Island :D
👍🏻😳👍🏻😆
fun yes

I will try! I get excited 😛

@@AvAngel Thanks for getting back! 💗

bye bye

It doesn't feel realistic at all, and honestly not much different than 2020, especially in calm waters. Seems like an afterthought.
