I agree with you. Many of the old guys who showed me how to work on a model T have passed. Thank you to those who post on TH-cam to keep the hobby alive and enjoyable.

    Wonderful series of videos.
    Just a couple of questions.
At 16:08 shouldn't the cotter pin go in the other way if it is to stop the screw undoing?
And in the same frame there are grooves which the clutch plates have worn in the housing. Shouldn't these be smoothed?

    Mike,
You put the cotter pin in the head of the set screw the wrong direction to reduce loosening of the clutch basket's set screw.
I have made that mistake before and had to correct my error.

ibsoarin yep... you are correct.. when filming we sometimes forget that normally we are looking at it from the other side.
Thanks for making the information correct!

Couldn't you just lockwire the setscrew?

I recently installed a turbo 400 clutch disc set per instructions. Upon starting the car there was no creeping. I drove the car out of the garage with the parking brake applied after 4-5 minutes of idling the car started to move forward and the transmission is stuck in high gear even with the brake handle pulled back. All adjustments are correct and there was a good free neutral after setting the clutch finger height but now the transmission is stuck in high gear. Do you have any idea what could be the problem?

Did you check the inner clutch clearance... 0.017 to -.025 I think. Triple fear bushing clearance?

I hope I never get to the point where talking has me breathing like I just finished running a marathon.. Interesting video, Maybe in the future move your mic further away so your breathing isn't so prevalent.

Stan, thanks for your observation... we learned a lot making the Engine rebuild videos. Later in the series we moved the mic to Mike’s back which helped. But, at the end of the day, we really needed to up grade our equipment both audio and video which we have done. That will not fix the older stuff, but we hope later/future video have better audio.
