Feast of St. Eldho Mor Baseliose - The Kanni 20 Perunnal
St. Basil's Boston, the only church in North America named after St. Eldo More Baselios, celebrates the feast of St. Eldo More Baselios on October 2nd and 3rd. Every year on 2nd and 3rd October at Kothamangalam Morthomma Cheripalli "Dukrono" of Saint Basilios Yeldo Bava is celebrated with spiritual splendor. This festival is known as "Kanni 20 Festival".
The Holy Father, Maffriono Mor Baselios Yeldo, departed to his heavenly home on Saturday afternoon on "Kanni 19" (Malayalam Calendar) 1685 and was buried the very next day in the sanctuary of Kothamangalam Morthomma Cheriyapally. The Holy Father lived only a few days in Malankara, and his name was spread far and wide, leaving a lasting mark on the history of the Malankara Syriac Church.
Residents of Kothamangalam celebrate the Cheriyapally festival on 2nd and 3rd October with devotion and festivity. A colorful 'Rasa' (ritual procession) on festival days is led by a Nair youth from the Chakala family, carrying a traditional lamp to commemorate his ancestor's bringing Bawa to the mosque. Kanni 20 festival is a good time to worship Bava. Irrespective of caste and religion, everyone comes here together.

സെന്റ് എൽദോ മോർ ബസേലിയോസിന്റെ പേരിലുള്ള നോർത്ത് അമേരിക്കയിലെ ഏക ദേവാലയമായ സെന്റ് ബേസിൽസ് ബോസ്റ്റൺ, ഒക്ടോബർ 2, 3 തീയതികളിൽ വിശുദ്ധ എൽദോ മോർ ബസേലിയോസിന്റെ തിരുനാൾ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. എല്ലാ വർഷവും ഒക്ടോബർ 2, 3 തീയതികളിൽ കോതമംഗലം മോർത്തോമ്മാ ചെറിയപള്ളിയിൽ പരിശുദ്ധ ബസേലിയോസ് യെൽദോ ബാവായുടെ "ദുക്രോണൊ" ആദ്ധ്യാത്മിക പ്രൗഢിയോടെ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. ഈ തിരുനാൾ "കന്നി 20 പെരുന്നാൾ" എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
വിശുദ്ധ പിതാവ്, മാഫ്രിയോനോ മോർ ബസേലിയോസ് യെൽദോ, 1685-ൽ "കന്നി 19" (മലയാള കലണ്ടർ) ശനിയാഴ്ച ഉച്ചതിരിഞ്ഞ് തന്റെ സ്വർഗ്ഗീയ ഭവനത്തിലേക്ക് വിടവാങ്ങി, അടുത്ത ദിവസം തന്നെ കോതമംഗലം മോർത്തോമ്മാ ചെറിയപ്പള്ളിയുടെ സങ്കേതത്തിൽ കബറടക്കപ്പെട്ടു. പരിശുദ്ധ പിതാവ് മലങ്കരയിൽ ഏതാനും ദിവസങ്ങൾ മാത്രമേ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നുള്ളൂ, മലങ്കര സുറിയാനി സഭയുടെ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ ശാശ്വതമായ മുദ്ര പതിപ്പിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ നാമം പരക്കെ പ്രചരിച്ചു.
കോതമംഗലം നിവാസികൾ ഒക്ടോബർ 2, 3 തീയതികളിൽ ചെറിയപ്പള്ളി പെരുന്നാൾ ഭക്തിയോടും ആഘോഷത്തോടും കൂടി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. പെരുന്നാൾ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ വർണ്ണാഭമായ 'റാസ' (ആചാര ഘോഷയാത്ര) ചക്കാല കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരു നായർ യുവാവ് നയിക്കുന്നു, തന്റെ പൂർവ്വികൻ ബാവായെ പള്ളിയിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവന്നതിന്റെ ഓർമ്മയ്ക്കായി പരമ്പരാഗത വിളക്ക് വഹിച്ചു. കന്നി 20 പെരുന്നാൾ ബാവയെ ആരാധിക്കാൻ പറ്റിയ സമയമാണ്. ജാതി മത ഭേദമന്യേ എല്ലാവരും ഒത്തൊരുമയോടെ ഇവിടെ എത്തുന്നു.
