What suitcase/backpack combo do you use? I’m booked on this trip for next year and was wondering if there were any luggage restrictions on African airlines. I usually check a bag, but from what I’ve read carryon is preferred, especially if it's a duffel or soft luggage.
The ones in the video are a simple carryon from TJMaxx and an HP computer backpack. The BEIS carryon is very similar in size to the one in the video but it is bigger than typical carryons. We flew with Delta and KLM and I didn’t have any issues but some people in the group had to check theirs on the KLM flight. I just bought the Monos carryon pro and it’s a really nice bag (even though it’s smaller) but it meets most airline requirements. If you do get the Monos definitely get compressible packing cubes so you can fit more stuff. In terms of the backpack I recommend this one from Amazon (amzn.to/44THLRl). I have the purple one and took it to Egypt and it fits so much stuff - on top of all my electronics. Hope this helps!
