…you guys do realize the author of “Lolita” was molested by his uncle as a child and wrote “Lolita” to condemn that behavior, right? Straight up, there’s a scene in the book where the protagonist bounces the girl on his leg to begin molesting her, which is exactly how the author’s uncle started molesting him! It’s almost like you never actually read it (shocking!)…
Even the author himself was amused at how readers complained the book wasn’t “sexy” enough, these folks clearly expecting it to be an erotic book when it really isn’t. It’s mostly just the protagonist fighting with himself over what he’s doing, knowing it’s wrong but making excuses to cope.
The “lolicon” (Lolita complex) genre was coined in Japan by Japanese who only heard the title and never actually read the book, hence how the title of a book condemning molestation became the namesake of a genre that glorifies it.
“Fun” fact: Japan only criminalized possession of cp/csam in 2014 after some prodding from the UN. Lolicon/shotacon are not included in Japan’s definition of cp/csam, and so remain legal there.
Edit: Well, after sharing your story of personal tragedy, it now makes sense why you hate Nabokov. But as I said, Nabokov is the same as you, was a victim of the same circumstances. Do not lay the blame for modern lolicon culture upon Nabokov.

I found the person who stole them and they gave 'em back, with the vice principal witnessing. (The assistant principal only enforced the return of the cards and didn't punish him. I hated that woman.)

If you have and didn't understand it, go look up some articles on it to explain its significance. And if you did understand xthe first time, I'm pretty sure the reason you enjoyed the review is because you didn't like the album. But as I said, if you haven't heard the original Wall album before, listen to it. The contents of the album itself will explain EXACTLY why the review is so bad.

Asshole could tell I didn't fully understand what made certain YUGIOH cards more special than others and tricked me into trading my holographic Ritual Summons Black Luster Soilder and its Ritual card for a Red Eyes Black Chick and a laminated Red Eyes Black Dragon card.

23:25 correction, there, Nate. All the odd-numbered Trek films EXCEPT for Search for Spock, Generations, and Nemesis are bad. Search for Spock is honestly pretty decent, to the point where most Trekkies regard it as an alright film. Same with Generations. Nemesis...well, the fandom is rather divided on that one. Some say it's bad, others say it's alright.

I literally was yelling BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!!!!!!!! and then he finally got it and I sighed the biggest sigh of relief ever.
They were talking about shows and movies that made them cry when the Hook commercial came, I can only think of two instances when I was a little kid and something I watched made me cry: the scene where Spongebob and Patrick died in the Spongebob Squarepants movie and the scene where Vegeta was dying and begging Goku to stop Frieza from Dragonball Z.
And yes, I do remember Vegeta's sacrifice from the Buu Saga but as a kid that scene didn't really make me cry, I thought it was sad but I didn't tear up at it.
