I am one of those people that gets everything later in life. I finally got a smartphone a year and a half ago, and I've been putting some good Christian hymns on it along with good sermons. I realize I can categorize my music and will start one for you, as I do have another song you sing which I would sing a couple years ago when I found it in a children's book. It is called "Take my Life". I love that you only have your guitar for the music and you sing Hymns. So many songs would have more of an impact if they didn't have so much music. I found an older couple on my phone called, THE KEY OF D. The husband plays his guitar and his wife plays her flute. The words of the hymns are so important as they give us much comfort and hope. This is absolutely one of my favorite hymns. The development in the lyrics is so poetic but understandable. “And it lifts me up to glory for it lifts me up to thee.”
Absolutely beautiful. I started playing this on piano as a kid and then my grandma died and it was played at her funeral; as I continued playing it at home, I know it touched my Dad in a special way. I probably didn’t even realize the connection as a kid, but my Dad had told me this years later. I did a version of it at church in my adult years, and I had some crazy complicated chords with it, so I appreciate this simplified version. THANKS SO MUCH! I will be playing this for our worship set soon.
I love your voice. I remember singing all these hymns growing up in church. You mostly keep the original tune with your beautiful variations. I like your simplicity.
