Amber Led Zeppelin was huge into Norse mythology (Thor is the Norse God of thunder) the lyrics to Immigrant song (the song that was playing during the opening fight scene) where they're singing about "The hammer of the God's" they're literally singing about Thor's hammer Mijolnir

Banner flopping onto Bifrost is one of the funniest Marvel moments. The little bounce and slide is pitch perfect physical comedy.

This is by far my favortie Thor movie. It soooo funny and so different than the other. It actually reminds me of the Gaudians of the Galaxy with the music .
In the first Avengers movie, Tony Stark gave Thor the nickname of “Point Break”, a reference to the movie of the same name starring Keanu Reeves & Patrick Swayze. Thor looks like Swazye’s character named Bodhi. Also, the actor who voices the rock alien Korg, is actually the Director of the movie. His name is Taika Waititi.
Korg is not the first of his kind seen in the franchise. Remember the giant rock man Thor destroyed at the beginning of the second one?

Once you get past the Avengers Infinity War and Endgame movies, the WandaVision, Falcon & Winter Soldier, and Loki TV series are essential for setting up the next phase of the MCU films

Glad you're excited about the Loki series in the future but you can't miss any of the Marvel Disney series for continuity purposes. They all are part of the much larger overall narrative. That's why this is such a brilliant spectacle because the y are telling this story over films and series! Heck, down the road you might need to watch the Fox X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Daredevil for context with Deadpool & Wolverine and the Sony Spiderman movies before you see Spiderman No Way Home. It's crazy, interconnected, and amazing. So you'll be busy awhile before you catch up to present day. 😄 Keep enjoying the experience, we are certainly loving watching you do it!💯❤️🔥😎

Yes, it is Idris Elba as Heimdall, the former Sentry of the Bifrost Bridge in Asgard, protecting & leading the Asgard people in the forest in this movie.
I am not surprised you didn't realize it was him in the earlier movies, he wears a lot of armour as the Sentry.
Loki is actual a series in Disney+, just finished its 2nd season. Hawkeye, Black Widow and several others also have series or movies on Disney+ that are part of the MCU

Point Break is an amazing movie from the 90s with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves, definitely worth a watch. Don't get it mistaken for the 2000s remake. It's a reference to Swayze's good looks and surfer bro haircut.

Skurge the Executioner had the best face turn in the history of comics. He's one of Thor's original villains but always a stooge for someone else. Eventually he realizes that he could have been one of the greatest heroes in the history of Asgard but he opted to be an evil person's pawn instead, and he begged for a chance to join Thor and others on a desperate quest to save the world. He sacrifices himself to save Thor and everyone else, at the cost of his life. His death is one of the only things in superhero comics that can bring me to tears.
A shame we didn't get Amora the Enchantress.

I agree. That's how most reactors tend to handle those two movies. They break them up into part 1 and part 2. We can't tell you why yet. You will understand when you get there.
Thor is the God of "Thunder." He's always had the power, but his reliance on the hammer made him feel that he needed the hammer to cannel it. Without the hammer, that power was able to emerge.
Korg said, "Well, I tried to start a revolution, but didn't print enough pamphlets so hardly anyone turned up." So in this case, rock was defeated by a lack of paper.

One of the awesome things about this movie is that it's like 75 percent improv, almost every scene. They were givin a general script to follow but director Korg (guy voicing Korg is the director btw) really let everyone have fun with it.

Did you notice that the “actor” playing the role of Loki in the play, was actually Matt Damon? Also, you said that the actor playing Thor looked like him. Well, that is because the actor playing him was Chris Hemsworth’s older brother, Luke Hemsworth. There are 3 Hemsworth brothers…Chris, Luke and Liam. Liam is best known for being in the Hunger Game movies.
Point Break is a movie from the 90's with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. Its a crime drama that centered around the surf culture in Los Angeles. Since Thor was blonde with long hair, he definitely resembles the kind of guy that spends his days at a beach on a surfboard. So Tony is mocking Thor in the smart ass way only Tony can do when he says hello to Thor: "No hard feelings Point Break, you have a mean swing"
There are heads depicted on the outside of the Grand Masters castle- one of which was Beta Ray Bill. In the comics he was able to lift Thor's hammer. Because he was worthy. Excellent story.

I’m a huge Marvel nerd from way back and honestly love most of the MCU. I honestly recommend most of the shows as well, including Agents of Shield, which is only barely connected after season 2 or so. The showrunner wanted to rush the introduction of certain things before movies could get there and of course that caused friction.
You would love Ms. Marvel, given your reactions so far. The most functional family in the MCU, except maybe for Hawkeye’s. Which is another show you’d probably like. Kate Bishop is as endearing as Ms Marvel, without the fun family dynamic.
For Egyptian mythology we’ve got Moon Knight, for reality bending weirdness bordering on Stranger Things we’ve got WandaVision and Agatha All Along. For more along the lines of the Captain America movies, we have The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
And when it comes time, don’t skip the Holiday special presentations. Guardians does a spectacular Christmas special and Werewolf by Night is a Halloween themed treat paying homage to old monster movies.
Then you have the animated What If series, which explores parts of the MCU if things had gone another way. Like what if Odin stripped Hela of her powers and cast her down to Earth like he did Thor. To learn mercy.
In my opinion only She-Hulk and Secret Invasion fall short. She Hulk because it had so much potential they wasted as a sitcom and Secret Invasion because it so starkly contradicts the tone of most of the MCU up until that point.
But I honestly recommend most of the shows, ESPECIALLY Loki. There’s a reason he’s a lot of people’s favorite villain.

Point Break is Thor's password because Tony programmed it. In the first Avengers movie whem they meet on the helicarrier for the first time after their fight in the woods, Tony walks up to Thor and tells him " No hard feelings Point Break. You got a mean swing" There is a movie called Point Break starring Patrick Swayze who had a similar look to Thor at the time. Mainly the long wavy hair.
Hela is the name used in some interpretations of Norse mythology to refer to the goddess of the underworld, also known as "Hel", who presides over the realm of the dead called Helheim, making her essentially the Norse equivalent of the figure associated with death and the underworld.
In Norse mythology, Hel is usually depicted as the daughter of Loki...hence the similar colors of green of the garb of both Hel and Loki...as well as the horns

Thor's power is his own. In the comics and the first movie Odin used magic to take away his power until he was worthy. Worthiness was a spell placed on Mjolnir (pronounced Mee yol neer) Once he was judged worthy Thor's power was back. If someone else picks up the hammer by being judged worthy he will also possess the power of Thor. You've seen Vision pick it up, but that just got the Avengers off the fence about whether they could trust him. In the comics a few other people pick it up along the way.
