Yamaguchi can be good in both Seijoh and Karasuno because in Karasuno he has his personal coach and his team that supporting him in many ways. Also he has his childhood friend in Karasuno which make him feel safer, fun and excited in becoming better and better

dont wanna come of as rude or disrespectfu but the whole "flattykawa" or "door" thing was taken to far especially that it was irrelevant here, a lot of ppl are flat and insecure about so there is no need to point it out in fictional characters some of them might relate too. and plus, 1. everyone in haikyuu is flat from most angles, pointing it out in one character is very offensive, 2. in the manga he isn't flat animators just didn't give them butts, which is something mostly corrected in the season 4 design, 3. I think any "jokes" about someones body should be refrained from cause its not funny and could come of as body shaming is certain trait.
