Ayefele was born in Ipoti, a city in Ekiti State, southwestern Nigeria. He completed his primary and secondary education at Our Saviours Anglican Primary School in Ipoti-Ekiti before advancing to the Ondo State College of Arts and Science in Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria.
He briefly worked as a journalist and broadcaster at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria in Ibadan, where he also produced jingles and musical work for radio. Ayefele's music career began in 1997 after he suffered a serious automobile accident that damaged his spinal cord, leaving him confined to a wheelchair.
During his nine-month hospital stay, a friend named Kola Olawuyi encouraged him to compile some songs. This advice led to the release of his debut album, "Bitter Experience," in 1998, which catapulted him to fame.
Following this, he released another album called "Sweet Experience."
Other notable albums by the gospel musician include "Something Else," "Divine Intervention," and "Life After Death," the latter being a tribute to Gbenga Adeboye, a Nigerian radio presenter, musician, and comedian.
The title "Bitter Experience" symbolizes his struggles, while "Sweet Experience" represents the joy that followed his challenges.
