    I tried a similar sized Manfrotto (a brand I really like for durability and use regularly) but it was too heavy for travel when every ounce counts (carry-on only). Exchanged for Cyanbird with carbon fiber and much happier with it, and does everything I need for the times I want a tripod shot or video. Remarkably light. Thanks for the review.

    great review, fyi, we in Australia, call that style of bag a "swag", a thick rolled mat, on the backpack.

    Thank you for an amazing review, i had many troubles making a choice for the last week, this helped alot!
    The only thing that was not mentioned though, is rigidity of the tripod...

    I just got this tripod. Best tripod ever to me in terms of being the most travel friendly and versatile

    Again a stunning review of that Benro tripod. What a flexibility in different circumstances. By the way, what a great pictures you made of some speedy dogs.

    Can you compare this Benro CyanBird with Ulanzi TT09

  • @colddish
    @colddish 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Got the carbon fibre version for less than $200 direct from China. Got the Ulanzi Zero Y for wife but it’s price has gone up and tried this out when it’s on offer. I must say Ulanzi is better build and the telescopic leg locks are in the ‘correct’ direction plus has screws to tighten the locks while the Cyanbird doesn’t have this function. The Cyanbird also feels slightly more flimsy in comparison. I feel the hybrid head has a lot of compromises. As a mostly photo person I’m more than happy with a conventional ball head for easier control and further lighten the overall weight. That said, although Benro didn’t say it’s Arca Swiss compatible, it actually is and I like the fact that it’s only open wide enough for the plate to slide in so I don’t have to worry about not properly lock the plate. Overall a good price/performance ratio for me. Recommended if you are able to get a good price for it. Otherwise, I’d still go for Ulanzi Zero Y for better stability.

      the zero y ulanzi and the cyanbird are my shortlist. the one thing that put me off on the cyanbird is a review saying it didnt have spiked feet options. my brain says ulanzi, but i cant get over the looks of this cyanbird. any thoughts? i was also considering the hybrid + another benro ballhead to get to the same price point of the zero y. but i dont know if its worth all the trouble if the zero y is "complete"

      @@xcmarin you are right it does have spike feet but the feet are wide and sturdy. What fails is the ball head tilts with even just a 100mm macro lens attached no matter how tight I screwed it. In the end I have to use my trusty Cavix ball head.

    They ticked a lot of boxes with this travel tripod. It's great, but they should've put the panning mechanism above the ballhead mechanism so that the ballhead could have been used as a leveler. Maybe it wasn't possible to do so for stability reasons or other. Almost perfect

    • @santiagofariastapia1744
      @santiagofariastapia1744 ปีที่แล้ว

      totally! you can tell when she gets it down to the ground that the ball mechanism is useless as a leveler for common filmmaking needs.

      @ev6377 ปีที่แล้ว

      isn't there a panning knob opposite the arca swiss knob? or that's not what you were looking for?

    • @thatsbecauseduh
      @thatsbecauseduh 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can pan above and below the ball head as she demonstrated a couple times

    • @santiagofariastapia1744
      @santiagofariastapia1744 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thatsbecauseduh seems to me the one above the ball head can't be controlled with the pan bar and one would have to grab the camera to pan it with it, so not very useful for video. My guess is that one's intended to rotate the camera to 90 degrees to be able to get vertical shooting fast by tilting the head.

    Tripod looks sweet! I'm looking for a compact travel tripod to fit in my bag but would prefer to use my own ballhead. Just curious what's the height of the tripod without the head attached?

    I live in the UK and have spent the past couple of days trying to source a pan and tilt head for my Cyan bird tripod as mine arrived only with a ball head. Is the pan and tilt head available in the UK and if so where can I purchase one. Also what is the address of Benro in the UK as I need to e mail them. Thanks

    Hello Amanda in all honesty, does it have smooth pan & tilt?

    • @soldoutmedia8025
      @soldoutmedia8025  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This was the smoothest tripod I have used in this size class. While photographing surfers I had an old heavy Sigma 150-400mm on this with an EOS R and it was like butter! I am very impressed with this tripod. It felt more like a TV tripod than a pro-consumer one.
      Thanks for the question!
