I find the dynamics of the crowd and their interaction with Solomun interesting, they really don't seem to fit. Solomun, as great of a dj he is; is a small room dj. He creates beautiful sets which require being listened to from begging to end, it's a journey of emotions. Just like a good book. Tomorrowland however has a crowd of "passer by" people; people who want to jump from one peak to the next, which makes sense 'cus they paid 400 euros for a ticket. It's important to realize that the view on a hill top only is more beautiful if you got up early in the morning to hike all the way up there instead of taking a helicopter in the afternoon.
My Words ! But I think this fits for all the Techno/Minimal DJs at Tomorrowland. It seems like the crowd is bored and has nothing to do beside their, how I think, annoying "Heeee Hoooo"...as an example seen at Paul Kalkbrenner. It is like they don't come for the music itself rather to say "I was at Tomorrowland". But that is the major issue of Tomorrowland nowadays. It's not about the music it's only about self-portrayal.
I was there actually, and i can assure u.. i was far from being bored.. (no offence maar uw opmerkingen.. sorry maar waarom zo bitter? Ik heb een van de beste nachten ooit beleefd, op muzikaal vlak en qua sfeer) Saturday was pure extacy starting with Adriatique and ending with Solomun. Why we were shouting was out of appreciation, & sheer delight, i'm sorry if that may upset some people but people were dancing and having a good time ;) If you want an obedient and silent crowd Jazz Middelheim might be more appealing :p (not to diss J.M.) TML is much more then the mainstage, wich most people associate tml with, wich is a shame actually :) Btw this stage had the most people sticking in one place, TML bracelet stats. And if someone paid 400.. i guess they got nicked, unless you're talking total expenses (drinks and stuff) Anyway for me tml is all about the music & the atmosphere, well not counting the Mainstage as far as music goes, but even those guys/girls deserve their thing no? Anyway just my 2 cents, peace!

But I can also understand these people, because they paid, as you said, 400 or even more for a festival. And beside that, I don't want a silent crowd ;) But I also don't want a crowd that is screaming this, for a Techno/Minimal set, total inappropriate "Heeee Hooo". You can Do this at a shitty Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike set, but not at a classy Paul Kalkbrenner or other excellent Techno/Minimal DJ set.
