Nebraska may not have won the championship but they definitely won us over with their hearts and drive. The back line with Akana, Knuckles and Rodrigues was incredible. They were on fire and so exciting to watch. After seeing this video, we appreciate Keonilei even more, as a person and as a player. Thank you for sharing her story.
Her sister is playing at University of Hawaii. Really like both of them. Strong competitors, fighter, fun to watch them play. My two fav team Hawaii and Nebraska

Hey my hometown, Hau'ula! My mom was a custodial worker at the local elementary school and she remembers Keonilei and her sister Braelyn very well. When she watches volleyball and sees them playing she always tells us "hey I remember those girls when they were little, they're so big now."
XLNT story, very emotional! But, IMO....it's an Incomplete story coz they didn't interview her parents! THAT is where her competitive nature, tenacity & never say die attitude comes from! Imua, Keonilei/Braelyn...IMUA!
