@@bolumekenejoan6360 it’s a standard practice in data entry to code categorical data as number when working with statistical tools like SPSS. The data is more compatible with statistical apps like SPSS this way, infact if enter as male, female instead of 1 & 2 in SPSS, some statistical test won’t run for the variable because of that. The coding is not a big deal, it’s just deciding that one group in the category is 1, another group is 2, 3, etc. you can as well start from 0 if you wish. Did I answer your question?
