😮, between you an Adwoa, I decided to purchase Voux Patisserie, Ophidian Sweet Surrender, Ophidian Black Cherry, and Charuto Regal Reserve from Paris Corner/Pendora. Somebody lied... Y'all said they were great.. Sis, y'all ain't say these smelled so good that they'd take my breath away 😂😂😂 Paris Corner showed up and showed out. I'm HOOKED!!! That Ophidian Sweet Surrender is life! Thank you for such amazing recommendations! You're on point ever time 🧡
Dee - first, I do appreciate and value you and the enormous commitment you so obviously have in providing us with world class content. I have purchased numerous fragrances from the Middle East and having well over 1,000 bottles of designer and niche fragrances from countries in the west (with prices to match) - these middle eastern fragrances are beyond a great value. Dr one - I promise to do my very best to watch all of the ads. I will find the time. I’m looking at it as the price of admission and if I can afford the time to watch your fabulous videos, then I can make the time to watch the ads. Wishing you the best always!!! And thank you so very much!!!🙏
Good afternoon Beautiful Cee❤❤❤ I really enjoyed this series! I am a gourmand lover who really needed to know the differences in these fragrances as I had a habit of buying redundant scents. I can say that the Ophidian line is on my buy list, even with the snakes. The Caramel Oud sounds a bit disappointing and Voux Patisserie is a whole vibe for me right now! I'm really looking forward to yours and Adwoa's fall lineups!❤❤❤
My Empire Victor after sitting for about 2 months now smells like Choco Musk reconstructed. The milk choc has been replaced by vanilla but the dry down is exactly the same as Choco Musk oil. I recognised it straight away as I love the oil. Also the top 2 layers of vanilla are so faint, it’s more skin scent at present but will let it sit some more 2 use in the winter. As a Vanilla lover I’m happy wth it overall but still waiting for the performance 2 kick in.
I caught a suggestion here for a tobacco frag collection review. GREAT SUGGESTION 👍 my favorite tobacco frag is Al Haramains Amber Oud Tabacco Edition ❤ I always get excited about pulling it when the weather cools 😎 I do find I gravitate more towards those spicy, creamy, and tobacco DNA's when craving a gourmand ish style fragrance and not food ish jam.😊
Great suggestion. I don’t have that many tobacco fragrances. I often tip toe around that note. Al Haramain may probably work for though because of how refined their perfumes are. 🥰🥰
Greetings cee.. great content I recently picked up jawhara based on you and adwoa reviews.. I will be picking up pattiserie when its available here👏🏾👏🏾 I love the gourmands😅 empire victor is a big love picked it up after your collab with Adwoa ❤
Você não faz idéia do quanto tem me ajudado na escolha as cegas dos meus perfumes árabes. Parabéns e muito obrigada por trazer informações tão detalhadas sobre cada um deles 🫶
Al Jawhara is more of a cinnamon version of a ginger snap. I absolutely love it! I got it as a decant and can't wait to purchase the full bottle. I've been going back and forth on Patisserie. I've been chomping at the bit for Empire Victor and recently Sweet Surrender after seeing your video on it. I have Caramel Oud and it is just a comforting scent to me.
All I can smell with the Caramel Oud is tootsie roll lol. I will say it got better as it macerated - when it first arrived, it smelled unblended with the oud or something in there sticking out in a really jarring, sour way. It did get better with time but tootsie roll isn’t my favorite smell lol. I do not get the hype on Caramel Cascade! Yes, it’s like a spicier more caramel version of Eclaire but it doesn’t feel as well blended to me. And there’s this weird rubber ballon note that I just cannot unsmell. I love Eclaire tho and actually have Empire Victor on the way!
You should try qissa delicious and al wataniah shouq. Qissa delicious is also a yummy gourmand. Shouq is supposedly similiar to sabrina carpenter sweet tooth
Hi I love your videos! I wanted to ask, since gourmand is for sweet lovers what is it called when you like berry musky smells? (if it isn't just called berry musky) I brought many hyped and gourmand perfumes without checking the notes... and hated or liked because I let them sit but they never compare to the berry smells I didn't realise I have (finally checking the notes) I have always loved these and other scents that are a bit different but would you know of any that smell similar to these? Would love to hear your thoughts. - Lamsat harir by Arabiyat - Musc noir rose by Narciso Rodriguez - The only one 2 by Dolce&Gabbana I have had these - Good girl by Carolina Herrera (NO LONGER LIKE) - Scandal by night by Jean Paul Gaultier (NO LONGER LIKE) - L'nterdit, Rouge & Intense by Givenchy (OK) - Pure Musc by Narciso Rodriguez (OK/LIKE) - Olympea by Paco Rabanne (NO LONGER LIKE) - Bonbon by Viktor and Rolf (LIKE) - Side effect by Initio (HATE) - Rouge smoking by BDK (HATE) - Nebras (NOT ME) - Khamrah (LEARNING TO LIKE) - Tharwah gold by Lattafa (LIKE) - Ansaam gold by Lattafa (LEARNING TO LIKE) - Nouf by Paris Corner (HATE) - Eternal coffee (EH) - Honor & glory, Amethyst (HATE) - Eclaire (NOT ME) - Affection pride (HATE)
Hi Cee! I was watching someone review Patisserie and she said it smells of coriander and that Italica was the same for her with the coriander. Do you get coriander at all? 😂❤
It is. It smells very sugary (like burnt sugar), sweet raspberry and pear. But it has a very white floral scent mix to it. Very unique, I got nothing and never smelled anything like it.
No it’s a sweet floral..to my nose it’s jasmine and orange blossom with marshmallow sugared vanilla. I’m not into florals but I absolutely love this. It’s pretty complex but definitely not a gourmand to me
Forbidden Sugar actually changes quite a lot the more it matures. Initially it was relatively floral with some gourmand accords, then that switched to the opposite. Now, after a year I would say about 75% gourmand with a 25% floral accord that plays into the rest beautifully in a very balanced and smooth way. I get caramel, marshmallow, honey, vanilla, raspberry, a tiny hint of coconut, jasmin and orangeblossom in total. I've basically written them down in the order that they hit my nose. All's in the opening-heart which develops really quickly. The dry down, which I gain within 5min, no longer has jasmin, and the sweetest notes have become mostly one accord with the raspberry, vanilla and a very, very soft marshmallow available. In the background there is orangeblossom, but for some reason the orange almost gets an edible component whereas the blossom remains in some sort of general construct; your brain recognises "floral" without picking up too specific a flower. Okay, I do, but I'm trying to describe how the balance and mixture works. Maybe it's better to say that the floral aspects almost have a bit of creamy soapiness to them. I've no idea how it'll develop in the future; if it'll go back to more gourmand f.e., or gain more heaviness on the floral part. As the pyramid shows many more gourmand notes than florals (3: jasmin, orangeblossom and violet - the latter causes the creamy soap most likely). I do miss the caramel and honey that are pretty strong at first. Really loved those notes. To be honest: I prefer the opening and heart over the dry down. Having said that, it's still a beautiful and elegant fragrance imho. The bottle is ridiculously heavy, but pretty. A nice one to add to your collection. But...not sure if it's a safe blind buy due to development. It's rather specific as well. I DID blind buy it and don't regret it, but it was very different from what I had expected based on the notes and name. To my surprise it is marketed as a men's fragrance on a fragrance site in my country. Now, I prefer a more gender fluid approach to perfumes in general, but am also pretty certain the gentleman interested in wearing this will find himself quite alone. It is rather sweet and leans very feminine. Honestly, I would be very interested to smell this on a man as sometimes sweeter fragrances can be really s3xy on them and/ or smell rather different on men as well. Anyway, long story short: is it a true gourmand? No. Not on my skin in its current condition. (1yr old). While I recommend it in the way of "I really like it", I would not suggest to buy it willy-nilly unless you don't need to pay attention to money. Best to find a shop/site/individual that sells decants.
I live in the US. Where is the best place to purchase Lataffa? I have not been able to find Eclair and got a Paris corner bottle of perfume from china when I ordered from Amazon so I no longer trust them.
