Canned air. Great to blow dirt or unburned powder from a gun and mag. Poke a hole in a foam ear plug to run the straw through and you can even pop most squibs or a stuck case back into the open chamber. A strip magnet on the range box cover. These are great for keeping small tools wrangled in a range box. Use them to organize magazines too. A solid brass rod. Another squib removal tool. The brass toilet float rods work great for this. A pick up magnet. Pick up your steel cases. Find a dropped screw, pin, or spring.
Thanks for the tips. A paster gun and pasties is on my buy list now. How about adding: Extra Ear Pro - For buds or those who left theirs behind. A bag of inexpensive foam ear plugs, or non electronic headsets that work, but not too expensive to have an extra. Extra Eye Pro - Have an inexpensive pair or two. Extra batteries for your optics, headsets, lights, etc.
I can't believe I went to an indoor gun range and they didn't stock the AAA batteries that I needed for my headset even though they sell the same head set there! So yeah, extra batteries.
For Indoor training/matches , I use a Nanuck 938 rolling case - can get in all my stuff, holster belt , a few pistols in sleeves , my SB PCC with a folding stock and an ammo case . Add to your list : a Dewalt Carbon Fiber Composite staple gun , DLead wipes , range knife , 8” Dirty Bird splatter targets for zeroing, small hand towel ,a cleaning rag , small first aid kit, shot timer. Outdoors , I throw the water proof Nanuck into a folding wagon with all terrain wheels - holds the range box , folding stool and a little cooler
Oven mitt would have worked for me, or friggin welder's glove. I bought a curling iron holder, and while they don't burn, heat transfers through those too, baby, WHEW.
Great video I’m new to USPSA all that stuff and a beach wagon to keep all that stuff in and it’s super portable especially with Ammo, snacks, gear, drinks and more snacks etc
Dump pouch. Saves a lot of picking up and cleaning mags (off the clock mag changes) Gloves for resetting steel targets if used (if you aren't wearing them all the time, keep a pair hanging out of a pocket). Keeps the dirt, mud, lead off your hands, gear and weapons. Good video/content.
Thank you for good information. Only thing I could have added was a seat cushion, if sitting on a hard wooden bench isn't fun either. Thank you again, best regards.
1) Range Case is esssential-as are the mini kits for specialty stuff. 2) Shoot n See targets--slap a new one one over the old one and move on. 3) Truly a multi tool and some lube will save the day just about every time. 4) Chair!!! 5) Have enough mags to shoot without reloading at the range. Buy one here, two there, and pretty soon you have a few hundred rounds worth for a qucik and easy shoot session. Then speedload! Thanks as always for the great info!!!
I agree that a hard plastic (tool-type) box, with a lid, is essential! I have two and they protect my handgun, many mags, and related gear while going to the ranges / hunting / competition / or training events. Plus, they are waterproof, dust proof, and keeps all the shooting gear at one place when the wind blows everyone else’s gear all around the range.
A little bit of extra, some cheap eye and ear pro , scope cleaning cloth, another water bottle. There's always someone who forgets the basics. As for the wife and I, we show up with everything, we are ready to host a party when we go to the range, table, chairs, canopy, cooler (non-alcoholic and snacks), a tarp and bucket to help collect brass and hulls, a target rich environment from paper to golf balls to steel, first aid kit that has only been opened for bandaids and sometimes throwing knives and tomahawks.
I need to get a speed loader, but it's more of a convenience thing to me. Plus, I don't mind spending the extra time thumbing rounds in at the range. It's a subtle way to acclimate yourself to gunfire if you're new or don't shoot often. I used to have a sandbag rifle rest that I can't remember what happened to, but miss it almost every time I go shoot. That's about all I can think to add.
All good, common sense items. I always check to make sure my stapler is working and I have plenty of extra staples. A few good Sharpie pens are good also.
A boo-boo kit! I am not talking about your IFAK (which you always carry on you right? Right??) A boo-boo kit is made for those small cuts/scrapes/burns you get during training that don’t require you to use up your Israeli bandages. Example: Hitting your head on a bare-metal surface when doing a drill inside of a vehicle and then having blood dripping from your forehead to your eyes. Not life-threatening but you still have to address it if you want to continue training without looking like an absolute psycho.
A couple of things that I would recommend are sharpies in different colors and a camp table. Not all of us drive pickups with a tailgate, so a good foldable camp table is handy. REI is a good place to look. For me speed loaders are a must. I have old arthritic hands. Do you know where I can get one for loading 6mm ARC AR15 mags? It is the only AR caliber that I don’t have a speed loader for.
Occasionally one of my shooting buddies will poke fun at things I bring to the range. And then I’m laughing when I’m sitting in shade with unblistered thumbs, resting while they are still standing pasting targets and jamming mags. Time and efficiency on the range is just as important as the content of your training
Didn't even know range box was a thing until I showed up at my first competition and EVERYONE had one. Made it very easy to lug to each course, as I showed up with some experienced shooters.
Love your list. Have all, especially if your girlfriend is your range partner, the folding chair was the first addition I never had! Lol. Also, since I haven't bought a real shot timer yet, I use a phone app, my gf doesn't like being too close when I'm shooting. I added a selfie stick so she could keep the phone close enough and still sit in the chair! Lol
I gotta ask...does Dorr use VantaBlack to get that beard color, or does he just naturally sprout black hole whiskers? That beard makes his shirt look FDE!
All you need is an accurate, reliable gun. Good ammo and a shot timer. Never shot steel or a rock up on the hillside that needed a pastey. Why use a chair when ya got a tailgate and since no range gear ever leaves my truck, I don't need a range bag. I shoot alot in the boondocks. Feel sorry for you city boys.
How often (after how many rounds) at the range one would need to clean a gun for it to function again? When I do a range session I usually fire a max of 100 rounds ...
Your supposed to clean your guns ? LOL I go 500 rounds or more without issue in Semis. Revolvers get more attention than that. The harder they are to reassemble (Ruger mark series 22s) the less frequently they get cleaned.
@@moushunter I am sure that after 500 rounds it still look factory new. But with time a gun will get "carbon" deposit or even worst fooling if you shoot exotic amo (non FMJ). Your call. Mine is that I prefer to clean after each range session rather than having a gun malfunction when I "really" needed it.
Boot lace and spit eazy clean, use each other back 2 back squat to sit, make sure you borrow other peoples gear. No need to buy anything just bring your happy ass.

Dryfire mag whats that? LOL they been out of stock for 2 months. G19 with laser

A small folding camping table goes along with the folding stool.
I am a Combat Vet myself and wanted to let you know that out of all

Yep! The squishy ear plugs are a great backup. Cheap, small, and light.

Yes to the speed loaders!
Makes a big difference !
Glad to see you include this.
The guys used to tease me, now they all use them......

Straight forward and simple. Definitely a list of “should haves”
Never thought of a range box. Good suggestion!
Husky makes great boxes for this purpose. Split tops that cantilever out to the sides. Love mine!
Cleaning kit is the first gun accessory I recommend to folks.
The looks I get.🤣
the rod could definitely come in handy
Oven mitt and some sort of heat pouch if you train with a suppressor.
Oven mitt would have worked for me, or friggin welder's glove. I bought a curling iron holder, and while they don't burn, heat transfers through those too, baby, WHEW.

Don't let that Dorr hit you in the ass~ Thanks, for the Myles of info!

ST Action Pro dummy training rounds to help with type 1-4 malfunction drills...

I’ve been using these boxes for years. For fishing, hunting, and everything you could think about. I just grab and go.

I'd add a small tool set. A multi tool with knife and screw drivers and a set of Allen wrenches. Nothing worse than your scope or red dot coming loose
cleaning kit and chair for sure. Speedloaders too.
A little bit of extra, some cheap eye and ear pro , scope cleaning cloth, another water bottle. There's always someone who forgets the basics.

Good tip on the range box. Another way to use my Dewalt packout boxes
Great video! Little things make a big difference.
All good, common sense items. I always check to make sure my stapler is working and I have plenty of extra staples. A few good Sharpie pens are good also.
Dorr pulling the dry fire mag out of his boot and Myles didnt bat an eye. 😅. Can use pasties at the club afterwards. 😂 Speedloaders absolute must.
Stackable Rigid boxes work slick

I have the Taliban cleaning kit. A shoelace with a knot tied in it.

Afraid of blisters pussy?
You left off a squib rod. Reloaders should never leave home without one. Right Myles.😂 Ken Murphy
Lol, the only thing I couldn’t identify in your thumbnail silhouettes was the paster gun. That got you a view guys.
Great stuff.
Very helpful, thanks
My "range box" is a 2017 Silverado.
Didn't even know range box was a thing until I showed up at my first competition and EVERYONE had one. Made it very easy to lug to each course, as I showed up with some experienced shooters.
I must say I have never used a paster. Great video
What a nice young man bringing an old guy a chair (6:35) to rest his tired bones. Who says kids today have no manners ?
Good advice guys !
Good tips.

Disappointed that crayons didn't make the list. Sometimes you need a snack.
I don’t understand why this is a joke anymore. Think of something creative…
@@jasonsolis5416 Hangry? You sound like you need some crayons to snack on.
@@jasonsolis5416 I think because coch makes fun of dorr for being younger and eating crayons. Pretty sure they have done quick skits about it too.
I have one in my range bag. I couldn't find my marker so I took one from my kids' crayon box omw out the door one day
Oorah Marine!
#1 of these would be speed loader. A real thumb saver.
Hydration
Tent/cover
I gotta ask...does Dorr use VantaBlack to get that beard color, or does he just naturally sprout black hole whiskers? That beard makes his shirt look FDE!
What gallon size is perfect for my pc carbines and shotguns and aR?
An umbrella. Ranges tend to be on open ground so you gotta bring your shade with you
Allen wrenches fitted to tighten optics and mounts. Things do come loose.
Tent! We live in SC you need time out of the sun…
All you need is an accurate, reliable gun.

I gotta go with water. Or at least something to drink thats not going to get you all hyper with a crash at the end.
Sit on the Stanley box
True, but a box doesn't have back support, so you're not completely relaxed.
Nice
Where's the personal air conditioners Myles!
#1) Ammo
*HIGHLY UNDERATED COMMENT!!!*
Sadly, it's stupidly common to have people show up and not even have their blasted *GUN!* 🤦♂️
Staple gun with staples. And different colour Sharpies.
RAD!
They forgot emergency roll of toilet paper.
Range Box = Milk Crate
Baby wipes
Was interested in pasties; lost (some) interest when described.
