Governments and regulations will never let those decentralized coins take over banks or Fiat. As I watch in another Garlinhouse video, they are working with regulators and it's been the coin with the biggest grow even over Bitcoin. Nice explanation. BUT XRP has LIQUIDITY issue. Even though XRP could be transferred within 3 secends, you can't offload a huge position under 3 seconds. Unless INSTITUTIONS get involved in trading XRP, there will be no DEEP LIQUIDITY(counterparty). In order for institutions to get involved, the mkt cap needs to grow exponentially. SPECULATORS ARE NEEDED.
Actually.. Apollo Currency (APL) is 2X as fast. They've developed Sharding of blocks and even have their own decentralized exchange built into the wallet. 54 countries will be using it as part of the African development fund.
Ripple is a good long term project, but I belief more in these low marketcap projects like Credit, Wavesbet, Apollo, U Network and BABB because of their great features, wonderfull development team and great community behind them and they meet all their roadmap goals on time and they offer us a great oppurtunity to invest almost no risk with great return

Exactly liquidity providers. They source XRP from exchanges. You have to realize that there is a system today to buy cryptos using exchanges? Or how do you buy crypto? On ebay?
the volatility in FX markets over a few days is nothing compared the the volatility of crypto. Don't make that comparison. If you are just interested in sending money across the globe quickly and securely, you can use bitcoin, litecoin, ether, etc. Why do you need XRP? The real, long term solution is stable coins, not volatile crypto assets like ripple or bitcoin.
BTC Lightning will kill the centralized, useless XRP token. Bitcoin is the only protocol that matters, it's the most secure, most solid code, most worked on and it will be the fastest and most scalable. With a solid software base everything is possible.

It was clearly an analogy. He was saying Napster was the pioneer in digitizing music just like Bitcoin is the pioneer of blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin has quite a few flaws in its technology just like Napster had flaws (legal) in its model.

an XRP transaction might only take 3 seconds, but how does that solve the volatility risk? Presumably, you hold on to the XRP after you've received it, or is he suggesting to immediately liquidate into cash? Where does the XRP go? Clearly, someone else must buy it. The volatility risk remains. This is a hole in logic.

the volatility in FX markets over a few days is nothing compared the the volatility of crypto. Don't make that comparison. If you are just interested in sending money across the globe quickly and securely, you can use bitcoin, litecoin, ether, etc. Why do you need XRP? The real, long term solution is stable coins, not volatile crypto assets like ripple or bitcoin.
BTC Lightning will kill the centralized, useless XRP token. Bitcoin is the only protocol that matters, it's the most secure, most solid code, most worked on and it will be the fastest and most scalable. With a solid software base everything is possible.
Ripple is not XRP. Ripple is the company that sells finch solutions to banks. XRP is a wannabe cryptocurrency that no bank is going to use because they don't care. They want to make money by artificially holding money longer.
