Just picked up my first carpet. She's just under 4 months old a little feisty hah! I've been watching your series on carpets and it's been a great help. Thank you!
That’s awesome congrats on your first carpet! I have no doubt it won’t be your last either lol🤣 Thank you for the support and I’m so glad that the series has helped you.
you are an awesome person and resouce for info about pythons. I have two approx 1.5 m and cos ive handled them since little they are amazingly calm and gentle. awesome pets. thanks for your channel
@@gerald4055 technically no. But there’s one that’s sold and hasn’t eaten yet so I have the one that’s still for sale on hold basically as a backup incase the one baby doesn’t thrive. Then the buyer has a backup option.
would you recommend maybe tapping with a hook every time before reaching in to handle or even to enter and clean etc, and then when theres no hook they figure its feeding time e
You could yes for sure. They are definitely smart enough for training like that. I have one that I HAVE to use the hook like that before getting him out. Using a hook though like that I would highly recommend though.
The best beginner snake in my personal opinion is a ball python just due to their slow moving and normally extremely disciple behavior. Now that being said carpets can be a great snake as well you just have to accept and understand a few things. Their care and husbandry are close just with the addition that carpets need to have a space to climb. 1. Baby carpets are known to be nippy and defensive. Now some are not and getting bit doesn’t hurt and will rarely even draw a drop of blood. But they can be a little feisty to start with. 2. It takes working with them and dealing with said nippy behavior to get them out of that behavior. So more than likely you will take some little bites breaking them off their feistiness. 3. As adults they do require a bare minimum enclosure of 4’x2’x2’ and bigger is always better for an adult. They are an extremely rewarding species to work with and own. The big thing is knowing what you’re getting into, buy healthy animals and take your time working with them and be patient.
@RockloverMJ9 no problem if you do decide you want one I do have 6 available babies left from this season. Check out my Husbandry Pro store the link is in my linktree that’s in the description to the video.
Lol that’s funny🤣 since you keep watching that’s why they keep recommending them probably lol. I appreciate the support and view and I hope you enjoyed the eye candy.
Well this is a good channel to watch then. I try to not only do egg cuttings and show off the babies we’re hatching but also try to do some educational and tutorial stuff as well
Please keep doing the educational and tutorial things, it helps people like me who need a little reassurance or more learning. I love my reptiles especially my snakes 🐍

This applies to Bredli also?
You could apply these methods to any snake honestly
I want to start keeping snakes, is a carpet python a good beginner species?
