This is my analysis & reaction of Ariana Grande & Kelly Clarkson performing “Santa Can’t You Hear Me,” live from last year. This song is super cute, upbeat and a great Christmas pop tune. I love the way they phrase their lines and how they use embellishments to keep the energy up. The band is also amazing and this arrangement is wonderful. For the record, they did not rehearse this before they perform it on television. That's why that Ariana use the whistle notes differently from the studio version. But they still killed it!
I'm pretty sure Ariana's Eb6 was high falsetto/head voice, not a whistle note.

i was astonished throughout the whole reaction, i've never seen an professional singer that has a great technique that you have. You're voice is gorgeous, I loved it.
That raspiness of Ariana using is on purpose, she’s been doing that lately and I am loving it!!

I was waiting all day for this upload!! Thank you so much!!! When I first heard this last year for Kelly’s “When Christmas Comes Around Christmas special on NBC, my jaw was to the floor, even more so now knowing that there was no rehearsal whatsoever. This was all one take, and the ladies KILLED IT as usual!!! I love you Erika, and this Christmas song instantly became an annual song on my playlist that I’ve listened to more times than I can count and never got sick of it and I never will! Not to mention their gorgeous outfits🥰 I love everything about this performance, and I adore you for taking this request!😍😍😍 Can’t wait for more! PS: thanks for the shoutout lol

Hi Erika. AMAZING! I love this performance a lot and watch it once in awhile, especially during Christmas. You were on fire doing this reaction, I could tell you were really into it. Thank you for breaking down all the vocal techniques by these two iconic singers. If you think about the performance, so much harmonization and change-ups even without any together practice or takes. Not only that, but this song is so upbeat it always puts me into the Christmas mode. Thanks for posting this video, it definitely made my day!

Just some constructive feedback - it's frustrating to *never* get more than 4 seconds of the performance at a time, often times less.
of course you're the expert, but i noticed that ariana has been using a bit of rasp several times lately, especially in those vevo performances, at this point i think she's doing it on purpose
Great video ..however, we just can notice how hard you love Ariana.. this is a Kelly’s song.. you declined all the best Kelly’s parts and just analyses Ariana’s same techniques 😂🤦🏽♂️ c’mon
