If you want to get a lot of experience grafting, but don't have the several rootstocks, I made grafts back onto trees they came from. Trying different types of grafts, saves precious rootstock while you learn
Some people advise to remove to wood also from the chip, which sometimes tear also the wood above the bud as well.It kills the bud that way or increaces the rate of success? Thanks
No, best results are to graft immediately. Allow several weeks for the chip to heal unto the stock. Then, overwinter the entire potted tree without further modification until Spring. When new growth commences in the Spring, make a sloping cut 2 cm above the bud. This will cause the grafted bud to begin growth, (as well as competing auxiliary buds.) All competing buds must be removed as soon as they emerge.
Be very careful about July and even early August bud grafting. You want the bud to knit itself into the rootstock, BUT NOT START GROWING IN THE SAME SEASON. Grafting in july in my region (Pacific Northwest), is a near certain way to get late season growth that is weak.
Multiple grafts strategically spaced on the rootstock. The resulting limbs must be kept in balanced growth by judiciously pruning back the limbs showing excess vigour.
Best not to in Feb/March because the buds in the leaf axil won't be ready so you are less likely to get success! If you want to graft in Feb/March check out our Bench Grafting video :)
PTESwildlifevideos so if yo graft in july, august and leave the bud graft till nxt spring the total number of months will take 8 months to take ? is that not a bit long?
Abdul Rahman Dhillon. In 2-3 weeks if your budding is successful it will heal and fuse onto the tree. Growth will begin the next year. I’m usually leaving stem out. So in few weeks if stem easily brake off your grafting is successful. If it’s dry and not easy to brake, your budding is failed. Do it again
@@thebeesnuts777 yes but there are upsides. First, you can graft using a single bud instead of a scion with multiple buds. It's also much easier to bud or chip graft than to spring graft. I like spring grafting for putting new varieties in my garden, and bud grafting for making new trees.
Thank goodness a British video about bud grafting!
This is actually one of the most thorough presentations i have seen. Thank you.
This is really great it helps a lot specially to us students it makes me understand more how it does.
God bless and more power!!!!!!
Great video. I love your technique and would like to thank you for taking the time to educate others. Keep up the good work.
You are The most beautiful grafter in this world.
This lady she's fucking beautiful
Thanks for this! All of the grafting videos I've seen so far show cutting into the stock rather than just the bark.
Is cutting into the wood correct or just the bark is ok?
Glad to see an Opinel for grafting 🇫🇷
Sure the sharpening is one of the best for a ridiculous price and lot of size (n8=10€)
👍👍👍👍👍
You can tell this is the correct method because the host is attractive and speaks in a British accent.
I get it
Simple and precise explanation! Thank you!
Interesting technique - I generally do T budding. Will give it a try.
Thanks for the video...really helpful..watching from Malaysia
great video i love the technique and the accent. 🌱🌳

Beautiful greenhouse!
Delightful. I suspect it's not as easy as she makes it look though!
This idea is very good I tried after watching your videos

So harvest bud graft in late summer and keep for one winter. Next spring plant the graft on tree ?

Very good video
are the shoots which grow after coppicing good for grafting (as a scion tree)?
That was super helpful, thank you! :)
Nice video
How do I get more than one variety on my Charles Ross apple tree please.
Good site by the way.

between july and september .does it mean august ?
can one grow a root stock from seed of the same tree and graft unto that? is there any disadvantages if I do?
For the sake of uniformity specially selected rootstock is generally used, however, your suggestion would most certainly work.
very good video, I really liked the music but I couldn't find it with shazam, would you help? :-)
Is this chip budding?
Very nice
She is cute 😅
Just did this on my boungavilla plants.
Nice! Multicolored. I got a barbara karst last year and I'm planning to graft some purple onto it next year.
great video ,when to graft in Mediterranean climate , north east Libya , thanks
The cultivars must be matched to the season when the cambium is in active growth. This is while the branches are growing thicker in diameter.
Mam which fruit crops doing bud grafting?
Indrasan Yadav. It’s apple, but it will work on most trees
Nice
Miss what is orchard??????
Plz reply
A group of trees, usually fruit trees.
Can you make some Hayward Kiwi grafting, propagating? 🙂
what if I do bud graft in feb / March ?

@@thebeesnuts777 No, there's no growth during Winter, so the tree will remain in a holding pattern until bud break in Spring.

THE BEST THANK YOU
Nice gwafting technique :)
very good.... thank you
how to graft a peach?? same way??
❤
great well dine so its the cambium later you put the bud piece in an tie it
Cambium contact is essential for all types of grafting.
Thank you
very good
muito bom!! :)
Clear information marred by infuriating background noise.
Tony Blake for Americans the combination of foreign accent and room reverberation don't cut it
great video!
Are you not worried about sterilizing your cutting instruments?
Usually done when changing scion sources.
thanks dear
Thanks a lot mam

you so sweeeet :)

Great information but ditch the music. The best how-to videos have stopped using music as its distracting and kind of amateurish.
Pity about the sound and added noise
👏👏
yes!!! a much quicker way to produce oxygen!!!!good job!!
Hmm... your english full by london accent...me very difficult to understand...thank you for sharing.
Polioreo
dont use that method but i do T budding
yeah I would think T budding is a bit more reliable.
Ed Hayes I also like T or I budding, but chip budding is the only budding system that can be done on dormant or active rootstock.
it would be better if that dumb music was turned off.
U must delete th Wood completely from th graft.
It's optional, the bud is more prone to dessication if the wood is removed.
the nice slow draw right toward ya own thumb, might end sorely one day.
Agreed this can be dangerous if care not taken when grafting! I find this the best technique but do be careful!
