When I was a kid I loved slot cars but I also thought slot cars could go to another level . I thought maybe a slot car track dont need the slot and the car would not need the guide pins . This way the cars would be able to pass and cut corners and still stay on the track ! RC cars been around for a short time then and they was alright . The problem with track or GP racing them you have to have a vary big track and a simple at that . A persons mind could not stay far enough in front of the RC car . Back then the only racing and that had just began was dirt buggy racing . I still go back to think of a way to keep the slot car or none slot car on the track then it dawn on me on how to do it but the tec was not there yet . It could be done with wires imbedded into the track almost like what is called a hall sensors today on the cars them selves and you can steering wheel on the handle . Maybe it would work maybe not . I thought of this over 50 years ago . I was only like 10 years old . I just thought it would be vary cool to have a 1/25 scale car to go down a track and was able to change lanes any time you would want and not fall off the track . I would think that would be the best track and car system out there even to this day and I thought that slot car racing would still be around to this day even more so .
Nice scenery Maybe narrower spacing between slots and eventually open onto a side to pass one another; could maybe fit 2 sets of three slots each and sidings to go over from one to the other. Cheers!!!!!👏💪👍🏻🤣😂🤗
@@Slabvid OH HELL your in B.C. ???? well that's cool what a fluke that was hahahaha... I'm over in Ucluelet on the Island and will be sure to have a visit when I get over to the mainland.. Hey thanks a bunch Tim
@@tmart9084 You are actually even better off than that: the builder of this track has since moved to Campbell River and built a great track there as well! I will send you his contact info and images of the track: I am sure he would love to have you over!
This track has been gone for more than 10 years now. In the days before GoPros I did a lap with a keychain camera on a car: see here: th-cam.com/video/z9x5wN8GXEg/w-d-xo.html
This was specifically an IROC race where all the cars are identical club cars: all the participants drive the same car in the same lane. Normally it would be a lot more diverse than this!
Is this a track we call a work in progress or is this completely finished I mean the landscape is it all done it's kind of cool but it seems like it needs more of everything
This is better than my best friends and mines 3000 Ft of Tyco track he and I had yrs ago. ..awesome job and there's no seems in this 3 lane track in this video. How was this done?
This is made from MDF (fibre board) with the slots routered in place and with copper tape for the conductors. There are seams where the different MDF boards are joined but nowhere near as much as sectional track like the original Scalextric
@@1960guardian Tore it down, built a new one, tore that one down, built another one. Finally relocated out of town and built a completely new track there
Good comment that made me pause to reflect on technology change and the effect on our standards/expectations. This comment comes almost to the day 12 years after I posted it. At that time the camera was not cutting edge but quite decent: I THINK I was using my Canon SX10iS at the time. Video was limited to 720 x 480 30fps. The other issue at the time was our perspective on storage/bandwidth: to put this on TH-cam at that HUGE full resolution :) just seemed ridiculous at the time: nobody would watch it at that resolution surely! So it was edited and downsized to 360P. And now I have no qualms about recording and uploading in4K...
Best track I've seen to date. Love the scenery 👍
Amazing layout and awesome racing!! Love the layout!!!!
I love these creative hometracks ❤️👍
One of 5 best tracks I've seen. However, I wonder if it would handle F-1 or LeMans cars over the crest of that hill.
The hill adds a challenge to drivers and for that reason you must take that into consideration when racing on this course.

Hi, I knew this track from oldslotracer . Wonderfull work!!!!
I wish there were a place around my area to race.. I've got a bunch of cars from the 60's that are pretty cool
That's sad if you have the cars and nowhere to use them. Whereabouts are you?

Absolutely fantastic! Good job boys
Nice setup 👍
Very nice layout!
Does this track still exist 12 years after this was uploaded ?
Unfortunately not. The track owner moved to a different town. But we do have 8 other tracks in the general area!

Amazing track 👌

You should mount a GoPro to a car and give an in car view

Great track, would have been nice to race different colour cars.

What scale is that?
Most of our racing is 1/32 with a very occasional foray into 1/24
Too bad this was filmed with a potato!
