You are an inspiration to us here in Africa, just started a farm in Nigeria using your shadenet approach to build 2 500sqm shadenets and here you are going 10 times bigger...I think we need to plan for our next 5000sqm shadenet for 2024 Thanks :)
Very educative, watching this inspired me to do 8m by 24m which is now ready and transplant of Super Habanero happening in 24hrs time. Next on my checklist is to also get another 30m by 40m done. Thanks for putting out these inspiring videos.
I am a Kenyan farmer and your videos have inspired me into improving my farming activities. I am currently planning to put one acre of land under shade net to grow vegetables
Good job Panuka Farm and to you the dynamic founder Mr. Bruno Mweemba. Me as a prospective farmer, and i also believe other farmers gained a lot from your educative videos. I must once more say thank you to you and your team. In this light, i will like to request that you please make another video that will give a vivid description of pipe spacing, both length and width. The division of sections for plants in the shade net. Most of us that watched and listened to you dont have the financial strength to hire the company you hired or company of such nature. Therefore we depend on the knowledge you disseminate. Thanks for always educating us. Younand you team are highly appreciated
Fantastic video. Thanks for the thorough coverage and explanations. I gather this is of great value during the hot season. Whats the impact of heavy rains on the net and crops? Could heavy winds not tear the net?
How do you connect the steel cable to the galvanized post? As shown on the video, cable was attached on the top and on the side, i want to buy that specific connector online. Your videos are very educational and inspiring. Thanks! keep up the good work.
This is a marvel. Just over an entire hectare large. I have a few questions: (1) I would have thought the net roofing would be angled to help easily divert hail when it occurs. Is hail not a major risk or how is it accounted for? (2) Some experts say that large nets face the risk of huge losses from diseases when they hit and recommend several smaller units in place of one large net? Was this ever an issue in your planning? Metal is very expensive compared with wood. What did you find as the advantage of metal despite its high cost?
The issue of diseases is real, but cost effective. You need to know what to plant and in what direction to minimise the issue of all crops being wiped out. Also plant crops that have different diseases patterns
Hi Sir, your video is so educational, thank you. I have alot of questions concerning the way you set up your farm. Would it be possible to contact you directly?
I love the video, the scaffold are a brilliant idea, if i may ask, how often is plowing needed with this shed and the irrigation is removed correct? Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼👍🏽💯
We hardly plough in here with a big tractor, we use the walking tractor. When we do so, we certainly have to remove the drip lines and bring them back once we are done with land preparations
Great job Panuka Farm. Please what will say about using 60% aluminet shade net as I already have the net? Temperature here gets as high as 42 degree Celsius during summer and I intend planting sweet peppers and tomatoes.
Close to $28 per sqm, but all depends of specs. On temperature 🌡, its significant, but also consider impact of direct sun rays and reduction on insects
When it rains how do you control it ?? How do you pollinate your plants In cases where there's a lot of rain will the nets at the top sink in When it rains does all the rain water go inside??

Kikiki, thanks a lot. We need to inspire each other.
Looks good, we installed a greenhouse in plastic. Then decided second one would be shade cloth only, glad it's working
Fantastic ! Astonishing job as usual when it comes to Panuka farm.

Glad it was helpful!. It's developed to withstand wind. Rain goes in, minimal impact. We have used similar net which has lasted for years
Thank you Sir!! I love your content, very inspirational and exciting!!

Great job and excellent video! Keep it up! I hope the investment pays off for y'all, looks exceptional!
Thanks so much!
How many meters apart are the poles and what thickness mm are the poles? A fantastic project and your videos are inspirational
It's 5m apart. The pokes are 2mm thickness. Something above 2mm would actually be more ideal
Could you share the name where you purchased the net? And why 40% and green net ?
What is the size of your steel post? Great video! Thanks!
Bravo! 👍👍

Thanks for the feedback. We do not have hail here in Zambia. The cost would actually be higher as you need higher poles the centre

Well noted, thanks

Hi, say you planting tomatoes, how do you pollinate then in that shade net
Most of them are self pollinated. But we have openings
Whats the distance between poles

Sounds great! just note that sweet pepper requires good amount of sunlight so do not block too much
