My mother was baptized after she repented at age 83 and three days before she died she received the Holy Spirit right before my eyes !!! God is so great and his word is true
"Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen."
I do wanna be baptized, however I can’t. I’m not sure I can baptize myself and my family doesn’t believe, so I can’t go to be baptized, I am still fairly young.
Don't be afraid to be persecuted for being righteous ... Mark 5:10 Blessed are those who have been. persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven❤❤❤❤❤🙌🙌🙌
You have to give your life to God and then you are baptized in the Holy Spirit. That is way more important than being baptized in water but if you want to be baptized in water then go for it after you have given your life to God.
Jesus said you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven unless you are born of water and of Spirit. John 3:5-7. Acts 8:14-17 talks about water baptism and receiving the Holy Spirit. Peter and John prayed that they might receive the Holy Spirit, and they also layed hands on them. Only then did they receive the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 5:26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

@@saulespino2510 what I'm trying to emphasise is, you need baptism if you're going to follow Christ fully and not partially, He commands it for us and His apostles taught it too, they taught forgiveness of baptism and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:36 - 42) They taught Salvation through baptism (1 Peter 3 : 18 - 22) Jesus Himself taught that we cannot see nor enter the Kingdom of God without baptism (John 3:3 - 5)
John 3:3-7 3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’
Praise jesus that was the example jesus show to b baptized,he said every one of u in my name I came to save that wish was lost its make no seance any one going to question the words of jesus n received the gift of the holy ghost🙆🙌🙋🙇✋👏
The best way to answer that is by simply going to the Bible and read passages that specifically deal with baptism. A baptism question should be answered by a baptism verse. Check this video out that deals with verses on baptism... th-cam.com/video/MsgGyAwMdd4/w-d-xo.html
💥BELIEVE & BE WATER BAPTIZED! ❤️You must repent from sin, be baptized in the Name of Jesus, & receive the Holy Ghost! Acts 2:36-41, Acts 19:1-7, Mark 16:16 🔥🙌 💥There is no sinners prayer in the Bible! 💞Romans 10:9-10 is speaking to Romans (who were baptized in water in 10:6 & received the Holy Spirit in 10:8, so they know you need to be baptized in water & in Spirit) about how they are making disciples. Please understand baptism breaks strongholds & sets people free as they are forgiven of sin; which allows the enemy to lose his grip!! Then, the Holy Spirit guides & teaches us & we need Him to be Raptured! 🔥Hallelujah!! The enemy wants the church to believe baptism isn’t necessary, but that is NOT scriptural. Jesus says He that believeth & is baptized will be saved, but he that believeth not shall be condemned. Mark 16:16 (Please take this to the Lord in prayer!) His Return is Soon!! 🔥🙌 🔥Christ lived as an example for us. 1 Peter 2:21 * Jesus was baptized by John Matt 3:13-17 * Jesus baptized more disciples than John through his disciples. John 4:1-2 * Jesus commands to teach all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of Jesus Christ & of the Holy Spirit Matt 28:18-20 💥 The Lord had not yet died & been raised again at that point, not to mention the robber was talkin to the Boss. :D * “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4 * If you love Lord Jesus, you keep His Commandments. John 14:21 * EXAMPLE of how getting SAVED happened in the BIBLE * And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. Acts 8:34-39 * EXAMPLE of how BELIEVING & BAPTISM got together!! * And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard [this], they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. Acts 19:1-7 * While Peter was preaching, the gift of the Holy Ghost poured on onto the Gentiles. Then, he commanded them to be water baptized in the Name of the Lord. Acts 10:44-48 * “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be condemned.” Mark 16:16 * HOLY SPIRIT is a GIFT to those who ASK * If you ask for it, you receive it! Your prayer language may come right away or in time, just lift your voice in thanks after asking!! "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls." Acts 2:36-41 * "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matt 7:13-14
I was baptized at a very young age didn't really know too much about it until I get older I would like to be baptized again to recommit my life to Jesus Christ 💖🙏💯👍
In Acts 2:38 Peter said, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” At what point does Peter indicate that one receives “the forgiveness of [their] sins” as well as “the gift of the Holy Spirit?” When he or she is “baptized…in the name of Jesus Christ.”
Yes, the thief on the cross was not baptized, he was sadly hanging on the cross for the crimes he committed. But he did a great thing and honored Jesus and the Lord had mercy on him. I'm thankful that most people get the opportunity to be water baptized, fully immersed in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; as we get to identify ourselved with Him.
It seems that there are two baptisms referred to in the Bible, but one is a "Type" and the other is the true baptism of the Holy Spirit, the "Antitype" which is absolutely necessary for salvation. John't water baptism of repentance is the foreshadowing of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 19:1-6) When one is baptized with the Holy Spirit they are born of God; it is the coming of the Holy Spirit to dwell within the believer. Without this true baptism there is no eternal life for a person no matter how much they say they believe in Jesus or how many times they are dunked or sprinkled with water....does not Satan believe in Jesus? The thief on the cross was absolutely baptized in the Holy Spirit while hanging next to Jesus. At first he was hurling insults at Jesus (Mark 15:32) just as the other thief, but when the Holy Spirit came upon him, he FEARED God, admitted that he DESERVED his punishment, that Jesus was guiltless, and ASKED Jesus to remember him when he went to His kingdom (Luke 23: 39-43)...therefore believing that this man, Jesus, dying next to him, was indeed God and capable of saving him from his deserved destination, hell. Would you have believed such a thing had you been that thief? What had happened to this thief while hanging there? He had been born again, baptized in the Holy Spirit and therefore was now one of the sons of God! HIs eyes had been opened to the Truth. Ephesians 4:5 tells us that there is only ONE baptism. Do not replace the true baptism of the Holy Spirit with that which is only a picture. It would be like replacing a person with a photograph.
The Holy Spirit wasn't given until Jesus was glorified (resurrected). You can see the fulfillment of this in Acts Chapter 1 and 2. In Acts Chapter 19, people were baptized in water fully immersed but then later rebaptized by Paul in the name of Jesus Christ. We are to be identified with Jesus Christ in baptism.
@leigh 83 He was not baptized because Jesus had not died yet and while Jesus was on earth he had authority to forgive sins wherever he saw fit. So thief on cross does not count. “Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”” Matthew 9:1-2 NIV “But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man,” Mark 2:10 NIV And actually one does need baptism to receive salvation. Isaiah 59:1-2 “Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. “Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38 NIV “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin- because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.” Romans 6:1-7 NIV So baptism is a participation of death burial and ressurection of Jesus. When we are baptized we are being immersed, sins are washed away, and raised to a nee life IN Jesus. With out having our sins forgiven then we can not be in Jesus. Because as we know God is without sin. None of this was to bash you Leigh. Just mainly to share scripture on this entire post. :)
So, after Jesus died and rose from the grave and went back to the Father he lost his authority to forgive sins based on a person's belief in him. "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies. John 11:25 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name. "Acts 10:43 After he endured coming to earth as a human, being humiliated, beaten and crucified for the forgiveness of sin then he loses his authority to forgive sins and must rely on water baptism?
Baptism is for the remission, removal washing away forgiveness of sin. Baptism with Jesus name called over you is part of salvation. This is where the blood is applied. When you are baptized in Jesus name your lifetime of sins are removed. It will feel like a thousand pounds have left you. Sin has spiritual weight and builds up year after year. This happened to me at 45 years old. I felt the weight of sin gone. It felt wonderful. For the next few months I prayed and asked God to fill me with the real Holy Spirit speaking in tongues just like in the book of Acts. He did and this is what happened. As I was praying all of a sudden I felt his spirit come into my mind. My whole thought process changed in a split second. He took over my whole body and spoke words through my mouth i didn't understand Everything was different. All those things I thought were so important weren't anymore also power comes with it. I have prayed and seen instant healing and many other awesome things Jesus has done.
There is no need for water baptism today if you have believed and trust the gospel. That Jesus died shedding His blood, was buried and rose, for the forgiveness of your sins. This is what saves us. I Cor 15:1-4. Paul said: 1Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. The gospel that saves us today does not require water baptism at all, for any reason or by any method. There is only one baptism for us in the body of Christ and the Spirit is the one who does the baptizing , NOT a man. Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 1Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

@@McOrie7 No argument here. I'm just asking questions. :) Your answer is very general. How do you follow Christ and where do you get your scriptures to do so? Question: If someone were to ask you: How do I get saved? How do I get to heaven? What would your answer be? Thanks for your time and consideration. Peace.
What about the Thief on the cross? He didn't jump down off the cross, run to the river and get baptised, then go take communion, and go to some man who likes to be called 'Father' and confess his sins. However Jesus told him, 'This day you shall be with me in Paradise.'

The new testament began 50 days after the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as it was written in the law, and as it is recorded in the book of the Acts of the Apostles.
You can no more say that the thief was not baptized , then I can say that the thief had been baptized before he fell away into sin.... The thief on the cross is not a usable argument....
Arthur Washburn Your logic is absurd at best! Do you think the thief could of turned to the Romans and said "TIME OUT", get off the cross and go for a dunk? That thief was saved and since time did not permit and he was not a Christian (hence being crucified), it was ok. If a person hear the word of God on a plane and accepts Jesus but the plane crashes and he didn't have time to get baptized, he is also still saved. Your arguments are childish, if you don't get baptized and you had time, YOU WILL NOT ENTER HEAVEN, just as Jesus said! Then when you see God at judgement, try giving him you dumb excuses then ok? Acts 10:46-48 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, 2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) John the baptist did it cause it was commanded by God, Jesus told John to baptize Him because they must fulfill the word of God. The end...
Salvation is by faith by the Holy Spirit and always will be nothing more and nothing less. Water Baptism is a tradition of men that is not required for Salvation. If you want to show people your Love and Faith for God you love them like yourself. 💗✝️🤝🏻
Here's some more truth. Baptism is not work, not if work is defined as "something you do." You do absolutely nothing in baptism. And the works under consideration are good works about which one might boast, e. g. visiting the sick, giving large sums of money to the church, adopting an orphan. I never heard anyone "boast" about his or her baptism.
@@brendanjobe6895 BAPTISM is an act of Righteousness. JESUS tells John the Baptist "Allow it in fulfillment of Righteousness". It is not "good works" but a Righteous Act and a public display of us belonging in the identity of CHRIST.
@@g.e.k1047 "It is not "good works" but a Righteous Act and a public display of us belonging in the identity of CHRIST." I hear that last part - the "public display" part said literally all the time - but many times in the NT, there was no public present at a baptism. People know that. They know that no public was around at midnight when the jailer was baptized, nor at the conversion of the eunuch out in a deserted area. It sounds good and is a by-product most of the time, so it sells - but it neglects the real significance of it.
Jesus said "You shall be baptized by water and spirit". Jesus also gave a long litany of "works" for his followers to perform. You'll find them in the "Beatitudes". Do you guys actually read the Bible, or do you just take whatever your "pastor" says as truth??
Your statement is short on substance and ignorant of the true definition of Faith in Jesus. Have you not read? NOT BY WORKS!!!??? ... PLEASE explain your meaning.
I don't know how old you are. Maybe your Dad thinks you're too young. Some churches won't baptize until you reach the "age of reason". (and that age is arbitrary and varies depending upon your denomination) God knows your heart. Make arrangements to have it done about a month before your 18th birthday. Make your baptism your birthday gift to yourself.
Dont worry in due time you will if you truly love Jesus and want to commit to him. If by any chance you die before that time comes you will be saved do to the desire of your own. Since you by no fault of your own but by circumstances you werent able to. Since God know your heart and if you would of truly baptized if you had the chance. He knows past, present, future and all posibilities. So you are fine either way.
The lockdown is mans law, decide which is more important to you. The things of men or the things of God. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” ~ Acts 2:38. No baptism = no salvation.

Several people were not water baptized in the New Testament. - Thief on the cross - The jailer - Cornelius - Paul There's also a variety of verses that discuss baptism, and many insert the word "water" in front of baptism due to their church's teachings, where it may refer to a baptism of the Holy Spirit.
The bible says if you repent and be Baptized you will receive the holy spirit but yet I've never gotten Baptized yet unless you count me doing it to myself in the pool, but I still feel like the holy spirit speaks to me and shows me things and warns me of satans tricks even though I never went to a church to get Baptized yet
All you guys have to do is read the book of Acts to see that you don't have to be baptized to receive the Holy Ghost and be saved. I'm not saying that you shouldn't be baptized, but baptism itself is not what allows you to receive the Holy Spirit of Promise. (This is Peter preaching to the Gentiles) Acts 10:42-48 "42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. 43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. As you can see while Peter was preaching to the Gentiles, the Holy Ghost fell upon them BEFORE being baptized. It's not the baptizing itself that saves you, it's trusting and believing in Jesus Christ for WHO He is and WHAT He did for you. I think everyone should still get baptized, but it's not what saves you.
Matt Do you know the whole story here? Peter was sent for to come tell Cornelius Words by which he and his house shall be saved. Peter had not finished telling them words by which they shall be saved till after the Holy Spirit fell on them and they spoke in tongues. Remember tongues are for the unbeliever. This story was as much for peter and the Jews sake than it was for Cornelius This story is about God showing peter and the Jews that salvation was truly for Gentiles also. Peter because he had experienced the out pouring of Holy Spirit himself God knew this would be the way to convince peter and Jews It wasn't how or for the purpose of saving Cornelius and the Gentiles Peter finished his preaching and told them words by which they may be saved Peter commanded them to be baptized Can you imagine them saying NAH we don't need water baptism ? We've got all we need ? If speaking in tongues is proof someone is saved. Then if your not Pentecostal you might try it Words written in red. Jesus Christ said : Mark 16:15-16. He who believes and is baptized shall be saved
First of all, It may not of happened in sequence but the fact that after Cornelius and his guests had mightily recieved the Holy Spirit, and spoke in tongues as undeniable evidence, Peter still thought water baptism was important enough to command it to be done.
This isn’t a very good Argument cause then what your trying to say is we shouldn’t put faith in Jesus because that’s also something we do because we wouldn’t be justified by even doing that
How about this? 14But John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?” 15“Let it be so now, Jesus replied. “It is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness” in this way. Then John permitted Him. 16As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and resting on Him.… Berean Study Bible
One reason why someone wouldn’t get baptised in water after they have been baptised by the Holy Spirit is not because they don’t want to but because physically they are unable to. For example I’m housebound because I’ve been mainly bedridden for five years. God truly is merciful otherwise housebound people with disabilities like me would be in trouble.
@@TheAliisawesome This is the lie of Calvinism. You owe that man NOTHING! If you ask God for wisdom, He will open your heart to the truth. Jesus was baptized, His disciples baptized. He commanded baptism at the end of three gospels. Peter stood up in Acts 2 and commanded repentance and baptism. Philip baptised Samartians, Peter baptized Cornelius' household. Paul was baptised. He baptized EVERYWHERE HE WENT. He wrote to the Roman church to baptize believers, AND WHY (Ch 6)! Peter talked about baptism in his letters. Do you see a pattern emerging here? Wolves come in and repeat ONE verse over and over as if THAT dis-annuls the clear teaching of scripture. You owe these deceivers nothing! You owe Jesus Christ everything!
@@B..P.. The thief on the cross died as a righteous man under the old covenant. You are not making a just argument, but even if he were under the new covenant, he had no freedom to comply with its conditions. We seldom are forced into a similar fix as he was, and are thus seldom relieved of the duty to obey.
If we understand what baptism is and why it was being done, we can know if it is for us. No bias, no reading into verses, no thinking that a word always means the same thing when used. Read Matt 3:11 and see baptism does not always mean water. There is no water in Rom 6. But there is one baptism according to Paul - Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, and he says the Spirit is the one doing it: 1Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. So you choose which "one" by which you are baptized. It can only be one and the Spirit (not a Pastor) does it. We don't get our doctrine from the book of Acts. This is a transitional book, a book of history, a book that tells us what happened to Israel. We get our doctrine from Paul's epistles whic he received as new revelation from Jesus Christ Himself. Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
@@Rejoran I agree. And that is why we don't need baptism today. B/c it's faith in the cross (death, burial and resurrection)which is how we have our sins forgiven today and not repentance and baptism.
@Corry Smith Hi Corry, thanks for your comment. Question: If you get your doctrine from the whole bible does that mean you do and follow everything Jesus said and taught? Does it also mean you do and follow everything in the OT?
Baptism isn't a work, it’s passive and performed by someone else lowering you into the water. In fact, saying a sinner’s prayer and confessing that Jesus is the Son of God are more involved, as they require the respondent to do things. Regarding the thief on the cross, Christian baptism had not even been instituted at the time the thief died so he didn’t need to get baptized. Christian baptism (for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit) was instituted on Pentecost after the work of the cross was completed (death burial and resurrection). In Christian baptism, we identify with the finished work of the Cross, placing our trust in His saving power, at baptism.
NONSENSE!!! ..., and direct contradiction of Scripture. "Have you not read?" Who is your Lord ... Paul or Jesus? When, where and how was Paul saved "in time"? Instead of beginning with Romans 10:9-10 .. look at Isaiah 6:9-10 ... then think why Jesus quoted that to his contemporaries ... and for us. Ask yourself the 1st question the presenter asks here in this vid ... then answer from Scripture rather than blindly accepting his answer. All sifts down to this: Do you believe Jesus or early century Roman Catholic doctrines from men or later-in-time reactionary reformers ... men who, though well-meaning, were blinded by sentimental, passionate heart blindness, hardened and without understanding "..., His command is eternal life, ...." Explain your contradictory position, please.
1 Peter 3:21-22 - 21 There is also an antitype which now saves us-baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.
I'm glad you pointed out that passage. A lot of folks miss that water baptism is an "antitype." An antitype is "a person or things that represents the opposite of someone or something else," or the 2nd meaning "something that is represented by a symbol." And this is what baptism is. It represents something that saves us. Peter is very careful to not be misunderstood so he also says, "not the removal of the filth of the flesh..." Obviously, Peter means this in a spiritual sense for the ritual of baptism (even in the Jewish faith) was never just a general bathing or washing dirt from the flesh but had more of a spiritual connotation. Plus we know of at least 3 instances in the New Testament where someone was saved prior to baptism. Thanks for that wonderful passage.
Unfortunately this video is part of the deception problem. You are not saved by faith alone in Christ alone. The first thing you do is believing in the Son of God. Faith saves but it's not the only requirement. No one is saved by anything alone. You are not saved by repentance alone, confession alone, baptism alone. Salvation is not given by one act of obedience. God requires everyone to repent. If repentance is required you can't say all I have to do is believe. You can't make that argument because repentance is required. Baptism is required. You're not a child of God at faith. You don't believe into Christ. You are baptised into Christ. You are not "in Christ" at the point of faith. Saul of Tarsus was not saved even when he met the Lord on the Damascus road despite that being what most believe. How do I know? Because Jesus said “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”. And what did he do and why? See Acts 22:16. Where does baptism fit in the plan of salvation? Salvation is in Christ and isn't given at the point of faith (as most churches teach). Gal 3:26 "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For (Greek word Gar = because, the reason being) as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ".
Matthew 28 14Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. 17These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
In Romans 6:3-4 Paul wrote, “Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” At what point does Paul indicate that one dies to sin and receives new life? When he or she is “baptized into Christ.”
As adults, when we receive baptism which presupposes that we believe and repent, we participate in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. It is this participation through baptism that we receive the grace of new life in Christ.
This is really helpful I've always been saved but then I was talking to some Christian friends and they were telling me that if I'm not baptized I'm not going to heaven and in every other respect they're good Christian guys so I was sort of confused.
Matt Diliberto Wrote: " This is really helpful I've always been saved but then I was talking to some Christian friends and they were telling me that if I'm not baptized I'm not going to heaven and in every other respect they're good Christian guys so I was sort of confused. " Not being baptized does not keep you from being saved. Only unbelief condemns a man. Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." The unbeliever is condemned, not the unbaptized. When Nicodemus asked Jesus how to be saved, Jesus told him: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." If baptism was required for salvation, Jesus would have told him that.
I am a born again Christian,my mother is an atheist and my Dad probably has not picked up his bible in 30 years. My Mum would never let me get baptised and I don't know what to do
Ava Howard get baptized. Get your friends, your community, your church, anyone, find a spiritual leader to you to baptize you. Love Jesus more than you're parents. I know that's hard but it's what Jesus commanded. All things will work out!
Ava Howard Firstly, work out for yourself if you are a true believer and if the answer is yes, then go and find someone to baptise you. You must not think about your parents, what their reaction would be. You must not put them above God or Jesus. Not to try to put you off, but baptism is not the be all and end all. It is a demonstration of your belief and faith to others and is not TOTALLY necessary. Just remember, if you are more afraid of your parents, then you could be giving up your eternal life. Regards, Brian
I just found the answer. God doing things in my life like going to animal pounds to adopt dogs and cats on their last day of life. Or a dog coming to my house at nite in the rain. After what I thought I found the owner and as it turned out didn't. The dog returned a month later to my house and gave him to a woman who I knew you give him that live and care for him. Also a dog next door to me all skin and bones coming to my house so I can give him food only to find out he can back the next day in the same condition. I dog napped him for the owner was a drug addict who really didn't care for the dog. Found him a good home the next day. And now a year latter after my two dogs that passed away, I looked in the nite sky cry for them. Calmness fell on me and was at peace for all the evil and sins I committed were gone. Got three beautiful family members a month later after the passing of the two dogs and they two were miserable where the lived for they couldn't go out side. What a big change. I cry for joy now thanking God constantly. I will be Baptized and hopefully before the end of this month. Amen!
The baptism that saves us and, as well is the new birth, is one baptism composed of two parts, water and Spirit. Paul speaks about, " ..the doctrine of baptisms" ( Heb 6:1,2 ) he also states that there is, " One Lord, one faith, and one baptism" ( Eph.4:5 ) In order for these two verses not to contradict one another there must be one baptism that consisting of two elements , water and Spirit.
Thank you for answering my question with scripture! With COVID restrictions, getting baptized right now here in CA isn't going to happen. If we're really approaching the last of days, it was really weighing on my mind and honestly stressing me out. I was dedicated as a baby, accepted Christ once I was older, but never got baptized. My teen children also have not been baptized. It is reassuring and a relief to hear that Christ is enough! Especially appreciate the scripture written by Paul while at Corinth! Thank you Paul, What a relief! I can sleep easy tonight! Thank you again for all the scripture to back it up.

@@graceambassador65 I appreciate your reply. The Bible is supposed to never contradict itself, correct? So in believing that I understand all these scriptures to mean one thing, they are all true. A man on his death bed, in his last hour accepts Christ as his Lord and Savior by what you are saying his sins are not washed away by accepting the Death and Resurrection of Christ as his fulfillment of the death he deserves. You are saying accepting him and acknowledging what he did for us isn't enough..... So the man in his final hour goes to hell. The child who is of age accepts the Good News but is unable to fulfill the "obligation" of being water baptized therefore misses the rapture or goes to hell. This is why I believe what these pastors are teaching. The word of God never contradicts itself, but what you are teaching me tells me that it does....
@@lriv4347 Grace And Peace, my friend. Thanks for this Important Discussion! Agree: *Scripture Has NO* "contradictions." I apologize for the "Misunderstanding." Guys I was born Catholic and was christened as a baby. My family and I drifted from God over the years. I have recently found God again in my life and want to do everything to please him. I’m still learning the right way. I’m wondering if I need to be baptised again, I’m still confused on the difference between christenings and baptism. I fully will be baptised again if I need to as I want to please God. Is my new found faith and the fact I was christened as a baby enough? I’ve been taking confession and communion recently. I’m also not really sure how to go about being baptised with the whole pandemic and lockdown atm. This is something that is concerning me and I fear if I was to die anytime soon, would this be held against me?
Being christened as an infant is actually just a “ dedication” to God. To be “ baptized” you are grown, with a full understanding who Jesus is, what he has done to Save you and your commitment in belief, trust and faith to be baptized into his death and raise to a new life full of the Holy Spirit. Even older children that truly understand can be baptized. God bless you. You are ready. GO DO IT! See you in Heaven ✝️🙏🏿🙏🏽🙏🏻🕊❤️

The Bible clearly teaches Phillip baptized the eunch in water after he told him about jesus. So idk I would get baptized anyway just to make sure. I think it's also important to note after jesus to heaven people weren't called believers until after they got baptized.
Axis, seek the Baptism of the Spirit, read Acts 2:38 ... It is real and it is the GREATEST thing that will happen in your life. I got it and it is joy unspeakable and full of Glory
Water baptism symbolizes the believer’s total trust in and total reliance on the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as a commitment to live obediently to Him. It also expresses unity with all the saints (Ephesians 2:19), that is, with every person in every nation on earth who is a member of the Body of Christ (Galatians 3:27-28). Water baptism conveys this and more, but it is not what saves us. Instead, we are saved by grace through faith, apart from works (Ephesians 2:8-9). We are baptized because our Lord commanded it: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). Water baptism is for believers. Before we are baptized, we must come to believe that we are sinners in need of salvation (Romans 3:23). We must also believe that Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins, that He was buried, and that He was resurrected to assure our place in heaven (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). When we turn to Jesus, asking Him to forgive our sins and be our Lord and Savior, we are born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. Our eternal salvation is guaranteed, and we begin to die to ourselves and live for Christ (1 Peter 1:3-5). At that time we are scripturally qualified to be baptized. Water baptism is a beautiful picture of what our Lord has done for us. As we are completely immersed in the water, we symbolize burial with our Lord; we are baptized into His death on the cross and are no longer slaves to self or sin (Romans 6:3-7). When we are raised out of the water, we are symbolically resurrected-raised to new life in Christ to be with Him forever, born into the family of our loving God (Romans 8:16). Water baptism also illustrates the spiritual cleansing we experience when we are saved; just as water cleanses the flesh, so the Holy Spirit cleanses our hearts when we trust Christ. The fact that water baptism is not a prerequisite for salvation is best seen in the example of a saved man who was not baptized in water-the criminal on the cross (Luke 23:39-43). This self-confessed sinner acknowledged Jesus as his Lord while dying on a cross next to Him. The thief asked for salvation and was forgiven of his sins. Although he never experienced water baptism, at that moment he was spiritually baptized into Christ’s death, and he then was raised to eternal life by the power of Christ’s word (Hebrews 1:3). Christians should be baptized out of obedience to and love for our Lord Jesus (John 14:15). Water baptism by immersion is the biblical method of baptism because of its symbolic representation of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
@risingStar I didn't say it is not necessary because it is but one can be baptized and are still hell bent Jesus made it plain here JOHN 3:him.3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
“Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2:24, 26 KJV
This verse is speaking to the Jews going though the tribulation when works plus faith will be required. It is written to the Jews. We know this b/c of what the 1st verse says: Jas 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. Jesus says through Paul works are NOT required. Rom 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Hope this helps. Have a great day.
@@martin9410 Thanks for your comment. Remember whenever there is a distinction between Jew and Gentile - we are not in the dispensation of grace - the body of Christ. Why? Because there is no distinction in Paul's gospel. James does make a distinction: James 1:1. There is no gentile tribes now and never was. Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Col 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. I agree with you James was written to the Jews in the first century who were about to go into the trib. which was postponed after the stoning of Stephen and the salvation of Paul. But also to those who will be going through the trib. in the future when the kingdom program restarts. Make sense?
@@martin9410 I have no opinion of the scriptures. They are not for private interpretation. Context IS the most important aspect of bible study. So we do agree on something. Asking the question about rightly dividing the scriptures doesn't take anything out of context. It's a question, not a statement or interpretation. You start changing God's words to different meanings is where one gets into trouble understanding the true context. Just let the words on the page and it's context rightly divided speak for itself. I do believe "study" means to study and "rightly divide" means to rightly divide. If you think that Greek gives you more understanding than the KJV's perfect English translation you are unfortunately mistaken. God is very capable of keeping His word perfectly intact just as He promised, and has done so in English. Yes, even while holding the creation together He can make words on a page say just exactly what He intended. So it is obvious to me you may know about rightly dividing the word but you don not do it. If it were so, we would not have a division in our communication but a unity in the amazing words Christ has given us in the KJV. To rightly divide the word in to understand the difference between prophecy and the mystery, law and grace, Jew and gentile, our purpose as explained in Eph 3., knowing where to get our doctrine to live by, knowing when the church started, understand the different gospels in the bible and who and how they apply and a whole lot more. I'm sure these are strange to you b/c as you say we know our bibles from different perspectives or biases. It took me 35 years of being saved by God's grace to see His word as He intended and even commanded by rightly dividing it's truth's from it's truth's. Maybe this light can teach us both something. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
No need to be water baptized. There is only one baptism for us today and it's done by the Spirit not a man. Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 1Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
The Spirit does the baptizing for us into the body of Christ. NO WATER or man involved. Read the above verse please 5 times, then explain them to someone else, just as they're written. And then see what that person says about baptism. Besides all that: our apostle Paul, who Jesus gave our gospel salvation message to, for us, says this: 1Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. You see? According to Paul, baptism is not part of OUR gospel as it was given by Peter in Acts 2:28.
@lisa deaville with or without the pandemic there should be no legitimate excuse to avoid baptism. Water sufficient to submerge is the only real requirement. Contact your local church of Christ and they will make the necessary arrangements without haste. And please ignore the post above me if you have any desire to follow the Bible. Lol
you missed the question.believing in Christ is what saves us....not being baptized.its not our works that saves, it what Jesus hanging on the cross...Romans 10:9
Daniel Oswald for whatever reason, it is an unpopular way of thinking to say baptism is a part of being saved. That was no my understanding of 1 Cor 1. I never thought of baptism of something I do (I guess it would be if I was the one baptizing and I bragged I had baptized 1000 people). It is something I have done to me. God is washing away my sins. I am confessing and proclaiming my faith. I did agree with this: Why wouldn’t someone want to be baptized.
This verse describes circumcision of the heart as only happening at water baptism. Without baptism, there is no "circumcision of the heart". Only Immersion Water baptism represents burial and resurrection. Sprinkling is a human invention to make people believe a lie, thinking that they were baptized, when they are not. Colossians 2: 11-12 GOD'S WORD® Translation In him you were also circumcised. It was not a circumcision performed by human hands. But it was a removal of the corrupt nature in the circumcision performed by Christ. This happened when you were placed in the tomb with Christ through baptism. .
Dear William, Respectfully, as a Christian minister, and not to argue or debate - I know that the Pentecostal church told you that...but if you will read John 3:5 again, you will notice that the word "again" is not in that verse. To be born again is one thing (John 3:3). To be born of water and of the Spirit is another (John 3:5). The former is to be made able to see the Kingdom of God. The latter is to be able to enter into it. With love in Christ, ~Clinton
@@TheWordprophet Would have to respectfully disagree. He cannot see the kingdom of God (ου δυναται ιδειν την βασιλειαν του τεου - ou dunatai idein tēn basileian tou theou). Can mean to participate in. Can carry with it the idea of enjoying, or sharing in, so it is considered synonymous with "enter." Just like "to see death," is to die. "to see life," is to live. The Greek word is "eidon." Jesus is showing a progression here. This word in this context doesn't so much address an act of looking, but the actual perception of the kingdom and its realities and the enjoyment thereof. The true meaning in this context is that no one could "see" or "Eidon" or perceive, understand or receive spiritual revelation about the kingdom of God without a spiritual rebirth. For instance in Matthew 13, Jesus says, "For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their eyes are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should "see" (Eidon) with their eyes...and should be converted..." One cannot truly "see" till they have a spiritual rebirth. Verses 3 and 5 complement each other. In verse 3, "To be born from above" (being saved) means that one "can see the reign of God. In this passage, to "see," and to "enter," are one and the same. You can't "see the kingdom of God," unless are are born from above. Ours is a wonderful birth into the kingdom of God, but not of ourselves but accomplished from "above." In verse 3, in the literal Greek, it doesn't say "again." The Greek word is anothen, which means “from above,” and that is exactly how verse 3 should read. Even a casual reading of this dialogue is understandable if one doesn't approach it with a preset bias. "Jesus answered and said to him, 'Verily, verily, I say to thee, if any one may not be born from above, he is not able to see the reign of God;' Nicodemus saith unto him, 'How is a man able to be born, being old? Is he able into the womb of his mother a second time to enter, and to be born?' Jesus answered, 'Verily, verily, I say to thee, if any one may not be born of water, and the Spirit, he is not able to enter into the reign of God.'" Jesus tells Nicodemus that one needs to be "born from above" to see the kingdom (enjoy its blessings). Nicodemus is confused, think that this birth must be of a physical nature and then Jesus corrects Him with more detail. It could be that Jesus is saying that this not only requires a physical birth (which has already taken place) but also a spiritual one as well (born from above). The "water" could also imply the Word of God. "that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word." (Eph. 5:26). Of course the most important fact. At the time of this dialogue, Christian baptism had not as yet been instituted (not till after the resurrection, Acts 2).
@@martin9410 Sir, With all due respect, I am a Christian, a minister of Jesus Christ. I speak as the oracles of God, as we are commanded. I am not here to argue with you about my Father's word; and your efforts to explain it away are in vain with me, for I am begotten of that very seed, and am taught of the LORD, as it is written. It means what it says, as it has been correctly translated into the English language in the KJV Bible. No one needs to study Greek to understand it; and it is not up for debate. The word "see" does not mean "to participate in". It means to see. But, trying to explain that to a blind man, is futile, so I leave the matter between you and God.
@@TheWordprophet I am also a minister of Jesus Christ. I'm glad that you worded your comment the way you did, as your wording tells the sincere searcher far more about your personal agenda and heart than my rebuttals. You are indeed a false prophet sir. I will value God's Words over yours any day of the week. And no one is "explaining God's Word away." This is the classic argument for those who feel that they are the lone prophet in the wilderness and only their opinions, interpretations and viewpoints are right. And the foolishness of such a statement regarding the Greek language as a fruitless endeavor in studying God's Word, indeed tells me how little you value His Word and getting to the truth of a matter. Your understanding of the word, "see" in John 3:3 goes against much sound scholarship. I love your closing statement, "But, trying to explain that to a blind man, is futile..." There is no desire on your part to dialogue regarding God's Word, your approach is, "If it disagrees with my opinion, then they are wrong." I knew you were a false teacher as soon as I saw your name, and your remarks just confirm that thought. I will pray for your followers and devotees who are more concerned about following the lead dog than getting the Word of God right.

I always wondered if god could still answer my prayers if I never been baptized. My fathers stubbornness before he allegedly is now saved. But all these years of not knowing I wasn't baptized I always wondered if the reason I don't hear god speak to me is the cause of not getting baptized. Did god always hear my prayers cause the Bible did say as long as you believe in Jesus & have faith & give up my faults & sin & accept him into my heart mind body & soul would I have an automatic connection compared to atheists out there that don't even have one bit of an empathetic feeling for Jesus & what he did for you.
God desire's is for all men to be saved he hears your prayers before baptism from the moment you first prayed. The only difference is god gives you more graces when you believe in him and follow his will. He gives even more graces for his flock and his children. So God's children that are baptized recieve more graces then the ones that are not and believe in him. The atheist are left pretty much to their own vices since he respects their free will. So they get the less graces out of all. He respects everyones free will and gives them due to what they want and how much they want him involved in their life. He is merciful so he bears alot but he always gives more graces to the people that involve him more in their lifes and follow his rules. Because he is more pleased with them and as a good father he compensates them. Just remember in the end he gives everyone enough necessary graces to be saved. But some get more than others.
To answer the question: Why wouldn't I want to be baptized if I had a relationship with Jesus Christ? Why would I? Because it's symbolic: and? Why would I have to do a symbolic act? Why would a symbolic act be required or commanded or be mandated?
If you understand all of the purposes/functions of water baptism, you will know instinctively that it is necessary, and that NO ONE can be saved/go to heaven before water baptism. Here is a partial list of the functions and purposes of water baptism: 1. God does many things (Divine action): Justifies, sanctifies (1 Cor 6:11), seals (Romans 4:11), applies grace (1 Cor 1:14), absolves sin (Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16), etc. 2. Jesus' blood is spiritually applied to our soul. (Typology-The passover lamb's blood had to not only be shed). 3. Sins are: remitted (paid for), forgiven, and washed away, for the first time. (Acts 2:38, Lk 24:47; We are “freed from sin” (Rom 6:7). Colossians 2:11 “...putting off the body of the sins”. 4. Our sins no longer prevent us from entering heaven, and partaking of the Tree of Life (Gal 5:19-21; Rev 21:7-8, 22:14-15; Jn 3:5ff, Col 2:12). 5. Old Sinful Nature is “cut off” (Eph chapter 2; Col 2:11-12), “old self is crucified”, we are “dead to sin” (Rom 6:2-11), we are “no longer slaves to sin” (1 Cor 15:55-56). 6. We are baptized into Christ's death. “We died with Christ” (Rom 6:3,6 “baptized into his death”). 7. We are spiritually circumcised (Eph chapter 2; Col 2:11-12). 8. Baptism is the beginning of life in Christ (TNDNTT) by Colin Brown Vol. 1, pg 147): We arise to newness of life (Col 2:11-12; Rom 6:4 NIV). We become “alive to God in Christ”. 9. We get a new godly nature. (Eph chapter 2) 10. We get a good conscience (1 Pet 3:20-21). (A clean slate, and a new beginning, if-you-will.) 11. Jesus Christ's name is called upon us (James 2:7). 12. We are delivered from: Death, Devil, Hell, and perdition (James 5:20; Acts 26:18). 13. We become a New Creature in Christ (2 Cor 5:17). 14. We share in Christ's ability to abstain from sin (as Christ after resurrection was immune). 15. Conversion, Salvation (2 Tim 2:10; Eph 1:3; Acts 2:41), Regeneration, and Atonement happens. 16. Our status and identity changes. We are: converted, saved, born again (Jn 3:3ff), added to the church (Ac 2:41), a child of God, part of the bride of Christ (Rom 7:4; Rev 21:9; 22:17; 2 Cor 11:2; Mt 25:1-46), we are kings and priests (Rev 1:6), Abraham's seed, heirs, (Gal 3:29), part of the spiritual house (1 Pet 2:5; Eph 2:12), no longer strangers and aliens (Eph 2:19), become Jesus' disciple (Jn 8:31), and Christian. 17. We enter the: “Kingdom of Heaven” (Jn 3:3ff; Rev 1:6). “Church”, “Body of Christ” (1 Pet 2:10), New Covenant. 18. We “put on” Christ, and are “put in” Christ (Gal 3:27). We are then, “IN Christ” (Gal 3:27), & “in the faith” (1 Cor 12:27). 19. In Union With Christ (Rom 6:5). We have fellowship with Christ. 20. We become His sheep, and “disciple indeed” (Jn 8:31), AND we now hear Jesus' voice. 21. All Christ's spiritual blessings (Eph 1:3) are now available to us, including the promise of resurrection, and Heaven (Rom 6:5,9; Gal 3:29; Rom 6:1-11). 22. We get the new privilege of being able to daily repent, and get forgiven (1 Jn 1:9). 23. We get a change of Lordship, and ownership 1 Cor 6:20; 7:23; 1 Pet 2:9)(we become a portable, purchased, treasure). 24. Jesus becomes our God. 25. Jesus becomes our protector, “we cross the waters to safety”(1 Cor 10:1ff; 1 Pet 3:19-21 ). 26. We get sealed, we get the Covenant Token, which can be visibly seen (Romans 4:11, Genesis 17:10ff). 27. Baptizer obeys God's Word, and The Great Commission (Mat 28:19; Acts 2:38; etc) 28. The Baptized party is obedient to: God's Word, “the faith”, and “the gospel” (2 Thess 1:8; Rom 1:5, 10:16, 16:26; Jn 3:36).

Dear John, Respectfully, and not to argue or debate, to be born again, and to be filled with the Holy Ghost, are not the same thing. Many people are filled with the Holy Ghost, and have never been born again. They have not my Father's word abiding in them, they refuse to obey the gospel of Jesus Christ, and they are lost and hellbound. To be born again, is to be born of God's word. Luke 8:11, 1 Peter 1:23, James 1:18, etc... To be baptized with the Holy Ghost, is part of the new testament baptism (of water and Spirit), and will cause a man to speak with other tongues and prophesy, as it is written. In love, ~Clinton
Yes because without doing so you cannot see the kingdom of heaven John 3 through 7 and don't let anyone tell you any different it's written in plain sight. For it is written so shall it be done
If you are filled with the Holy Spirit you are sealed till the day of redemption Ephesians 4:30 “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” You have to understand what His job is to do you have to know and understand Him learn about Him
Often it’s not that a person doesn’t want to be baptised. Indeed my wife and I were both intending to be baptised. We would definately of been baptised had the cancer not snatched my wife from me. I know Jehovah knows that. I will be baptised soon I hope. My point is that this ungodly system constantly interferes with our love of god, ultimately though, only his grace can save us. Through Jesus name. Amen 🙏

GRACE ambassador, No, this understanding you have presented does not accord with the Holy Scriptures, because it is not comprehensive of the entire New Testament. Mark 16:16, assuming it’s inspired, has more to it than you quoted. Which gives more light on how to understand it, also the rest of the New Testament gives understanding about salvation which would lead us away from baptism being the mode by which God saves a person. The number 12 is symbolic in the Scriptures but we should not read as if there is a hidden code. Also if you’ll look a little closer Israel in the New Testament is all of Abraham’s children by faith. Reference Galatians 6:15-16. The exclusivities of the nation left with the obsolete Old Covenant, Hebrews 8:13.

Here's a video that tells you exactly what is required for you to do in order to be saved, watch the video in it's entirety and you will know for sure that you're going to go to Heaven, here's the link: th-cam.com/video/y5bdr-p7sJc/w-d-xo.html HINT: It has nothing to do with you works or good deeds! Your right about questioning Abraham being justified by works because in Romans chapter 4, Paul plainly teaches that Abraham was justified by faith in the sight of God and that he was saved before he offered Isaac on the altar and got circumcised, basically he was saved before he had any works to show for his faith. James 2 is talking about being justified in the sight of man not God. In the sight of God we are justified by the faith that is in our hearts and in the sight of man we are justified by our outward works. Man cannot see what's in our hearts they can only see our works, that is why a Christian should have a good testimony because if you have a bad one it's going to be hard convincing people to come to Christ. So faith without works is dead in the sense of being profitable to your fellowman because the whole point of us still being here on earth is to win as many people to Christ, but in in regards to salvation our works have no merit or worth because salvation is a free gift, and that not of works!
Abraham's faith in God was proven in what he did in God's name. When God told him to sacrifice his son Issac, he proved his obedience to the Lord by doing it. If you know the story, God stopped Abraham and provided a ram caught in the thicket to sacrifice. God then told Abraham he would be blessed many times over for his faith and obedience to Him, because that Abraham would not hold back anything for the Lord.
He said "it's the first thing scripture say that we should do as a sign that we believe." That is an untruth, because there is no scripture that says we should be baptized as a sign that we believe and he didn't offer one. The Bible doesn't even say that we should do anything as a sign that we believe. It says to preach the message, to make disciples, to be ambassadors of the New Covenant. It never says that we should do anything as a sign that we believe. It goes to show when someone is "so conditioned" by a belief system, they can actually think something is in the Bible that is not.
Wear does it say I won't make it into heaven if I'm saved by the Lord and excepted the Lord into my heart as my savior at 13 years old. And I'm 36 and still haven't been baptized. JOHN 3'16
Mark 16:16, also Paul himself was baptized! Paul was glad he didn't baptize those other people because of what the tradition of immersion in water baptism meant; in the times of the old covenant baptism was used in the practice of ablution. In 1 Corinthians 10:1-4 Paul discusses the passing through the Red Sea as being baptized into Moses as a reference to being led to baptism by Moses, and under Moses the children of Israelite assumed the yoke of God's Kingdom. Baptism was also used to convert proselytes in Judaism.

@@graceambassador65 None of those Scriptures say baptism by the Spirit only. The gift the Holy Spirit is given after water baptism. Please read the book of Acts. John 3:5 Jesus said "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water AND the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God."
@@jarrett5054 Yes there are verses that tell us the Spirit baptism is the only baptism. See below: No need to be water baptized.
During the disciples and apostles, water baptism was a salvation command pastor..look at Act 2:38 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Amy Gentry Believe it or not I was just asking myself that same question.😞 Would it be like a "Oh well should have done it sooner" kind of thing or would you atleast get a pass for going to do it before death rudely came for you.
Amy Gentry God knows the heart of the person. He judges the heart and their willingness to follow his commands. Remember Abraham who was asked to sacrifice his son? He was so willing to follow God, that he would've done it. I had a friend that was on her way to be baptized and was killed by a drunk driver. Do I think she is in Heaven? Yes, because she had made the decision to give her life to God. God is not an uncaring God. It is those who know what God wants us to do, have the capability to do it, and just don't do it that He will discipline.
Baptism is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus in which we participate as described in Romans 6. How does that happen? It is by faith because the Word of God tells us that. We can do nothing to earn or merit our salvation. It is all by grace through faith. We do however, make some decisions/efforts (not works) on our part based on an obedient faith. Peter called the people who asked, "What shall we do?" (Acts 2:37), to repent (attitude and action) and be baptized (action of obedience and not a work), in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins (Acts 2:38). To be born again, we must die to ourselves. Why would we try and explain away the very thing that Jesus says in Mark's account(16:16), that "whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned"? Believing is an action of trust we take in a faithful God. We must be born again in order to see the kingdom of heaven. That death and new birth process is what we do when we go into the waters of baptism trusting in a merciful God that gives us His forgiveness through the blood of His sacrificial lamb and empowers us with resurrection and His Holy Spirit living in us that grants us life eternal. Baptism is not a work we do anymore than believing or repenting is a meritorious work, it is an act of faith that tells us and the world around us that we believe in what God promises us, a new life in Christ, Galatians 3:26,27.
the water of baptism for salvific purposes dilutes the blood of Christ! Abraham was never baptized, nor any of the heroes of the faith in Hebrews 11! How were they saved? by faith in God. God's way of salvation does not change. "A righteousness that is by faith from FIRST to last."
Acts 10:46-48 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Act 2:38-39 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Mark 16:16 Jesus says, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned." John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. The end...
Rod I agree with you on the baptism but on faith alone without works I do not. Jesus said these words VERY CLEARLY, Faith without Works IS DEAD! We are not saved by works but faith automatically brings about works.
John:3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit (BAPTISM), he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
I don't agree with a few things these guys have talked about on this channel,(like speaking in tongues)I believe in it, but i do not currently have the gift), but this is one thing i strongly believe in. When i was younger i was baptized because i was told i HAD to, as i got older i Got baptized again because it was something that i WANTED to do. I currently attend a church that teach the exact opposite of this and it is difficult to watch people believe that you HAVE to be baptized to go to heaven.
Jesus Loves Summah And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Acts 8:37-38
The answer is genrally: Yes. After accepting Christ, you get baptized like it was in Acts 2:38-41 which is the fulfillment of Matthew 28:19 by the way. And receive Holy Ghost and then your journey has really begun.
@@mirellaaispuro668 except a man is born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. He who believes and is baptized will be saved. He who believes not the gospel shall be damned.
The Bible says, that baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is for the remission of sins, and that it saves us. It is not an ordinance. It is not an outward showing of an inward change. It is not a public profession of your faith. It is for the remission of your sins, and it is how you are saved from your sins by the blood of Christ. Mark 16:16, John 3:5, Acts 2:38-40, 22:16, Titus 3:5, 1 Peter 3:21, etc... This is how men get saved from their sins and become Christians, by grace, through faith. Amen.
The best way to answer that is by simply going to the Bible and read passages that specifically deal with baptism. A baptism question should be answered by a baptism verse. Check this video out that deals with verses on baptism... th-cam.com/video/MsgGyAwMdd4/w-d-xo.html
Leviticus 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour. James 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
"Abraham didn't do anything..." Absolutely FALSE! Abraham believed and obeyed God for many years. What Abraham didn't do was the works of Mosaic Law because he preceded that law and Paul makes the point that the Jews were not made more righteous by obedience to the Law of Moses. You have to understand what you're reading.
There is no need for water baptism today if you have believed and trust the gospel. That Jesus died shedding His blood, was buried and rose, for the forgiveness of your sins. This is what saves us. I Cor 15:1-4. Jesus said through Paul: 1Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. Please Check out this 7 minute video: th-cam.com/video/dlc1Orv6lE4/w-d-xo.html
I've always thought this question should be framed in the context of whether baptism is an act of the believer or if it is something that God does. If it's just the first, it's really only a matter of obedience, maybe a little humility, but certainly nothing God would base our salvation on, since He clearly states that we are saved by grace. If it is something spiritual that God does in us (remember that voice from heaven in Christ's baptism claiming Him & the Holy Spirit descending?), well, we still have to do the obedience bit, but just like every other covenant entered in between God & man, God accepts our piddly contribution and blows us away with His side of the deal. The real question is why would you not want God to put His claim on you and give you His spirit to work in your life? This is why some churches baptize infants. It is also recognized that committing our mind & will to faith in Christ is important and that is why all churches that baptize infants also give people the opportunity to make an informed choice and confirm their baptism. But... it comes back to the question - is baptism just an outward sign of a person's inner decision which then becomes meaningless as soon as that person changes their mind? OR is it a covenant that God calls us into where His faithfulness and gifting begins working in us even beyond our understanding? Again, it is not the basis of salvation, and clearly God blesses & enables without it, but why would you want to miss an opportunity like this?
@@JOSHUA7_25 The purpose of baptism is the big question, isn't it? It has been discussed over the course of Christian history and has caused much division among believers. If you haven't studied it, it's well worth looking into, maybe start with Infant Baptism on Wikipedia. The presenters of this video make the main point that baptism is an act of obedience, and that salvation is a gracious gift through faith & belief, not through works (deeds done in obedience), therefore baptism is not necessary for salvation. The only controversial part of that whole point is whether baptism is ONLY an act of obedience. The rest is accepted by all Christians. This video does a great job of showing why salvation is through faith. Regarding how I assembled "this twisted presentation", it is simply a look at Christian history. For the entire history of Christianity & nearly exclusively for the first 1500 years, other than adult conversions, infants were baptised because they believed it was the beginning of God's work of grace in their life (therefore something God does). I would like to point out that this idea was put together by far more than the "couple" of Bible verses the above video suggests, but you can look into that on your own. In the 1520's the Anabaptists first came into conflict with the practice of infant baptism. This was near the beginning of the Reformation when several main reformers were working out their differences with Catholicism. Zwingli & the Anabaptists were pretty much the main ones who disagreed with the practice of infant baptism, though to be fair, it wasn't an entirely new idea. After this to the present day, Christians have followed 2 main lines of thought about baptism: Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran, Anglican, Methodist, Wesleyan, Presbyterian, Congregational, Reformed, Nazarene, Moravian, and other denominations saw baptism as primarily God's work. It followed in the tradition of the covenants practiced in the Old Testament where God & man make an agreement marked by a symbol. Baptism symbolizes Christ's death & resurrection as well as the gift of the Holy Spirit and the forgiveness of sins. Its PURPOSE is to mark the beginning of God's work of grace in a person's life. Anabaptists & the denominations that came from them (Mennonite, Bretheran, Baptist, Pentecostal, Assemblies of God, and others) see baptism primarily as an act of obedience representing a personal decision to believe in Christ. Since it is not seen as a work of God, rather simply a response of an assenting believer, its PURPOSE is viewed as an act of obedience (a good work). Regardless of what you believe about baptism, all Christians believe that it is faith in Christ that saves. And all this is WHY I bring it up, because many seem to be unaware that Christians have differing perspectives on baptism and even though both types of believers wonder if baptism is necessary for salvation, the reasons "why not" can be a bit different. If baptism is a good work by man in response to God, then it can be separated from salvation which is God's work. If both baptism & salvation are God's work, then we need to look what each does & what their role is for the believer. The practical concern is for those who have not or can not reach the "age of assent". But that is another long discussion. What do you think the purpose of baptism is and who does the work within it?
This act is required to join the club. In marriage you go thru the ceremony in the miltary u go to boot camp u want to ne a doctor u go to school. You must obey the gospel.obey Acts 2:38 jew or gentile
I want to be baptized, but i am catholic, and i've read the rules for a catholic baptism...So i can't do it.. And i'm really scared that i'm gonna go to hell because of this..
Reptile King my advice is, leave the catholic chruch, roman catholicism is full of idolatry. You don't have to be baptized. You must repent of your sins, forsake your sins also, and trust alone in Jesus Christ and then you will be assured that you will have evalasting life, not on doing good works to enter heaven. Godbless
Stop being Catholic, stop being baptist, stop being Methodist. Stop being anything that is not straight from the bible. The only thing you need to be is a christian, a Christ follower. Get rid of all rules and practices that are not in the bible. Repent of your sins and go to a bible believing church and get baptized. You may technically be able to go to heaven with out being baptized but we are told to in multiple verses and why would anyone who loves Jesus not want to? It is a wonderful spiritual experience if you truly repent.
Sweetie do what you feel is right in your heart. Put aside your religion and do what you want to, you never know what can happen if you make that choice for yourself.😊
Baptism is not a work. It isn’t something that you do; it is something that is done to you. The person baptizing you is performing the “work”; you are the recipient of the work.
Yadda, yadda, yadda. Alot of talk and no straight answer. Here is the truth and straight from Jesus Christ himself; John 3:5 "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and of Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." ...What does he say? Pretty clear to me, unless you are "born of water" (Baptised) "and of spirit" (True faith) you will not enter God's kingdom. Pretty hard to reject that.
That's funny, I've read and preached on that passage for years and have never read the word, "baptism," there. What translation are you using? You are reading your own theology into the text. It has a couple of other meanings that make more sense, but you refuse to see them. Nicodemus was a schooled religious leader that was very familiar with Jewish baptismal rituals. His mind never went there, nor did Jesus use a word that would make sense to Nicodemus. Nicodemus' first thought was, "Can a man when he is old be born in his mother's womb again?" Jesus said, "Unless you are born of the water and the spirit..." Jesus could be referencing back to a physical birth and basically saying, "not only do you have to experience a physical birth, but a spiritual one too." Or another sound biblical approach is to say that you "are washed by the Word." This phrase or idea is used in both the Old and New Testament. The bottomline there is no mention of water baptism in this passage and to say there is, is reading something into the text. And throughout the book of John, the only way to be born again is by believing in Jesus (this is stated over and over again). The only time John mentions baptism is when referring to John's baptism. If one were reading the Gospel of John with no preset bias or slant, they would never think of baptism here. Someone has to school us into interpreting it that way. Nice try though. You said, "Pretty hard to reject that." Actually that is one of the easier ones to reject. You should have use 1 Peter 3:21 instead. I have a biblical answer for that one too, but that would have made for a much better argument.
+D. L. Starkey - If you don't read baptism there then you are blind. Baptism is also mentioned many times in the New Testament scriptures also and by Christ himself, which is exactly what "born of water" means. No personal theology here sorry, have known what it meant even as a child before even being taught.
Flagrum3 I preached in the Church of Christ for almost 25 years so I know full well your arguments. I used them myself, just in a more polished manner. No, I'm not blind regarding that passage. And it's interesting that there are 3 or 4 reasonable biblical explanation for what "of the water and spirit" mean, but you won't consider those. To say that "water," means baptism is to put words in our Savior's mouth that He didn't say. He doesn't say "baptism," He says "water," which can have different meanings. And since the whole gospel is about bringing one to Jesus, John 20, why would baptism be mentioned only once if it saves you? John does use the word, "baptism" once in his gospel and that is when speaking of John's baptism. However, if you cling to this theology, then you must admit that Paul and Silas told the jailer the way to be saved is by "believing in the Name of Jesus." Do you agree with Paul or do you not? Surely you don't read baptism into that statement, or I would, for sure, question who is the blind one. Keep studying my friend.
+D. L. Starkey Well I'm afraid to say your preaching for 25 years was wrong. Q; What did Jesus order the apostles to do before he ascended? What did the Jews of the time believe dunking in water did, how would Nicodemus have understood the term "of water"? Please think it over.

The best way to answer that is by simply going to the Bible and read passages that specifically deal with baptism. A baptism question should be answered by a baptism verse. Check this video out that deals with verses on baptism...

💥BELIEVE & BE WATER BAPTIZED! ❤️You must repent from sin, be baptized in the Name of Jesus, & receive the Holy Ghost! Acts 2:36-41, Acts 19:1-7, Mark 16:16 🔥🙌
💥There is no sinners prayer in the Bible!
Mark 16:16

* EXAMPLE of how getting SAVED happened in the BIBLE * And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Acts 8:34-39
* EXAMPLE of how BELIEVING & BAPTISM got together!! Acts 19:1-7
* While Peter was preaching, the gift of the Holy Ghost poured on onto the Gentiles. Then, he commanded them to be water baptized in the Name of the Lord. Acts 10:44-48
* “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be condemned.” Mark 16:16
* HOLY SPIRIT is a GIFT to those who ASK * If you ask for it, you receive it! Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls." Acts 2:36-41
* "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matt 7:13-14

I was baptized at a very young age didn't really know too much about it until I get older I would like to be baptized again to recommit my life to Jesus Christ 💖🙏💯👍
You don’t necessarily have to be baptized to rededicate but it’s still good
In Acts 2:38 Peter said, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” At what point does Peter indicate that one receives “the forgiveness of [their] sins” as well as “the gift of the Holy Spirit?” When he or she is “baptized…in the name of Jesus Christ.”
Also the thief on the cross was not baptised and went to heaven.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.””
Matthew 9:1-2 NIV
“But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man,”
Mark 2:10 NIV
And actually one does need baptism to receive salvation.
Isaiah 59:1-2 “Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.”
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
“Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 2:38 NIV
“What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin- because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.”
Romans 6:1-7 NIV
So baptism is a participation of death burial and ressurection of Jesus.
Please please pray for me so God can make a way for me to get baptised, God bless y'all!!
There is no need for water baptism today if you have believed and trust the gospel. That Jesus died shedding His blood, was buried and rose, for the forgiveness of your sins. This is what saves us. I Cor 15:1-4.
Paul said:
1Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
The gospel that saves us today does not require water baptism at all, for any reason or by any method.
There is only one baptism for us in the body of Christ and the Spirit is the one who does the baptizing , NOT a man.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
1Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Arthur Washburn
Your logic is absurd at best!
Truth spoken!!👏😃☝One is saved by grace through one's faith ("Belief") in Jesus as their Savior and Lord!! NOT BY WORKS!!!
@@g.e.k1047 "It is not "good works" but a Righteous Act and a public display of us belonging in the identity of CHRIST."
I hear that last part - the "public display" part said literally all the time - but many times in the NT, there was no public present at a baptism.

I don't know how old you are, but a parent who refuses to let his or her child attend worship services is in bad shape.

Several people were not water baptized in the New Testament.
- Thief on the cross
- The jailer
- Cornelius
- Paul
There's also a variety of verses that discuss baptism, and many insert the word "water" in front of baptism due to their church's teachings, where it may refer to a baptism of the Holy Spirit.
You can receive the Holy Ghost before baptism, as I did.
@@GregRickard I got Baptized last year it was a great experience! But yes I feel the holy spirit can talk to anyone regardless of baptism

All you guys have to do is read the book of Acts to see that you don't have to be baptized to receive the Holy Ghost and be saved. I'm not saying that you shouldn't be baptized, but baptism itself is not what allows you to receive the Holy Spirit of Promise.
(This is Peter preaching to the Gentiles)
Acts 10:42-48
"42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Thank you Sir/Madam
@@lukegroves7039 Thank you Sir/Madam
First of all, It may not of happened in sequence but the fact that after Cornelius and his guests had mightily recieved the Holy Spirit, and spoke in tongues as undeniable evidence, Peter still thought water baptism was important enough to command it to be done.
Matt you are correct acts 11:15-18 confirms it
If Baptism is “something we do”, then also putting faith in Jesus Christ is “something we do”
Exactly...
This isn’t a very good Argument cause then what your trying to say is we shouldn’t put faith in Jesus because that’s also something we do because we wouldn’t be justified by even doing that
Acts 8:36 Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?”
Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved..
Suddenly the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and resting on Him.…

John baptized by water. But Jesus said he'd shower down the Blessings of the Holy Spirit
You have to be baptised to obey Jesus.
It's THAT simple.
Bill Sterling You do not NEED to be baptized to go to Heaven, through faith ONLY we reach salvation. God bless. I am going to be baptized soon though.
True. The "One" baptism has two parts ; water and Spirit.
@@saludanite The thief on the cross was not baptized.

@@B..P.. The thief on the cross died as a righteous man under the old covenant. 💗Jesus getting baptized so I'm getting baptized 💗
Jesus also died on the cross. You running to do that too?
No one in the Bible got baptized because Jesus got baptized. They got baptized in Jesus's name for the reasons stated therein Acts 2:38-39.
You can't get to heaven without baptism. Baptism is a command that must be obeyed.
Baptism is something that comes after we become saved it signifies your belief in Christ
NONSENSE!!! ..., and direct contradiction of Scripture.

Mark 16:16
(Please take this to the Lord in prayer!) His Return is Soon!! 🔥🙌
🔥Christ lived as an example for us. 1 Peter 2:21

* EXAMPLE of how getting SAVED happened in the BIBLE * And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Acts 8:34-39
* EXAMPLE of how BELIEVING & BAPTISM got together!!

Firstly, work out for yourself if you are a true believer and if the answer is yes, then go and find someone to baptise you.

Paul speaks about, " ..the doctrine of baptisms" ( Heb 6:1,2 ) he also states that there is, " One Lord, one faith, and one baptism" ( Eph.4:5 )
In order for these two verses not to contradict one another there must be one baptism that consisting of two elements , water and Spirit.
You've analyzed it correctly. One new birth, two elements.

Now, LRiv, if you will "bear with me for a moment longer," this is the point where the "denominational Traditional answers" to the How/why question come in:
Which is it? Some say: _water_ {sprinkling} dedicates infants, others say, NO,
_water_ is not for infants, but for believers only! Then, SOME of them say "it is by "pouring," but, then Others "Disagree" saying, NO, it is "by immersion" Only!
Now, the "immersion" group _Disagrees_ Over the "formula" when they do it:
Is it "dunked" ONCE in the "Name of Jesus," or is it THREE times in the "Name of The Father, SON, And, Holy Ghost!" Then, there are the "symbolic" meanings,
but I digress...

Guys I was born Catholic and was christened as a baby.
16But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. 17When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. 18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The Bible clearly teaches Phillip baptized the eunch in water after he told him about jesus. So idk I would get baptized anyway just to make sure. I think it's also important to note after jesus to heaven people weren't called believers until after they got baptized.
im still getting baptized
Axis, seek the Baptism of the Spirit, read Acts 2:38 ... It is real and it is the GREATEST thing that will happen in your life. I got it and it is joy unspeakable and full of Glory
To be baptzed, means a lot to me.
BAPTISM IS NOT A WORK ITS A PROMISE
@risingStar I didn't say it is not necessary because it is but one can be baptized and are still hell bent
Jesus made it plain here
JOHN 3:him.3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
“Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
James 2:24, 26 KJV
Make sense?
To what type of church were you a pastor?
@@martin9410 Have you ever heard of studying the bible rightly divided? 2Tim 2:15.
Thank God. I'm struggling to get baptized in the UK.
No need to be water baptized.
There is only one baptism for us today and it's done by the Spirit not a man.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Besides all that: our apostle Paul, who Jesus gave our gospel salvation message to, for us, says this:
1Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
You see? According to Paul, baptism is not part of OUR gospel as it was given by Peter in Acts 2:28.
@lisa deaville with or without the pandemic there should be no legitimate excuse to avoid baptism.

Colossians 2: 11-12 GOD'S WORD® Translation
In him you were also circumcised. It was not a circumcision performed by human hands.
But it was a removal of the corrupt nature in the circumcision performed by Christ.
This happened when you were placed in the tomb with Christ through baptism.
.
Daniel Oswald Baptism is a work. Our salvation was paid in full on the cross. To think that your salvation can come from yourself is insanity.
You have to be born again of water and Spirit to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Dear William,
Respectfully, as a Christian minister, and not to argue or debate - I know that the Pentecostal church told you that...but if you will read John 3:5 again, you will notice that the word "again" is not in that verse.
To be born again is one thing (John 3:3).
To be born of water and of the Spirit is another (John 3:5).
The former is to be made able to see the Kingdom of God.
The latter is to be able to enter into it.
With love in Christ,
~Clinton
Ours is a wonderful birth into the kingdom of God, but not of ourselves but accomplished from "above."
In verse 3, in the literal Greek, it doesn't say "again." The Greek word is anothen, which means “from above,” and that is exactly how verse 3 should read.

Sir,
With all due respect, I am a Christian, a minister of Jesus Christ.

Such a beautiful gift is life. Don't squander it.
Very helpful . God bless you guys! ☺️👍😇✝️🙌🏽

To answer the question: Why wouldn't I want to be baptized if I had a relationship with Jesus Christ? Why would I? Because it's symbolic: and? Why would I have to do a symbolic act? Why would a symbolic act be required or commanded or be mandated?
You have nailed the lie about baptism.
If you understand all of the purposes/functions of water baptism, you will know instinctively that it is necessary, and that NO ONE can be saved/go to heaven before water baptism.
Here is a partial list of the functions and purposes of water baptism:
(Eph chapter 2)
10. We get a good conscience (1 Pet 3:20-21). (A clean slate, and a new beginning, if-you-will.)
27. Baptizer obeys God's Word, and The Great Commission (Mat 28:19; Acts 2:38; etc)
28. The Baptized party is obedient to: God's Word, “the faith”, and “the gospel” (2 Thess 1:8; Rom 1:5, 10:16, 16:26; Jn 3:36).

Now get the Holy Ghost... the Spirit of God by Speaking in Tongues
Have you been Baptized by the Holy Spirit aka BORN AGAIN ???
john smith Yes it can please read the Bible nobody who is not born again can enter Heaven because we are ALL Sinner BUT Jesus died for us on the Cross that means if we are going to Confess with our Mouth That we are Sinners and Jesus is my Lord and Saviour and that he died on the Cross for us and believing in the Heart that he was buried and Rise from Dead on the 3rd day we are born again now show Jesus that you are serious Jesus needs to be our #1 in our World we need to stop sinning forever and we need to love Jesus more than our Family and every other thing we are saved if you do this you are going to heaven :) May Jesus bless you!
Dear John,
Respectfully, and not to argue or debate, to be born again, and to be filled with the Holy Ghost, are not the same thing.
In love,
~Clinton
Yes because without doing so you cannot see the kingdom of heaven John 3 through 7 and don't let anyone tell you any different it's written in plain sight. For it is written so shall it be done
Brandon Sewell read romans 10:9

Thank you
God Bless
When you said that Abraham was justified by works we’re under the new covenant though I feel like this is false doctrine. what do you guys think?
Here's a video that tells you exactly what is required for you to do in order to be saved, watch the video in it's entirety and you will know for sure that you're going to go to Heaven, here's the link: th-cam.com/video/y5bdr-p7sJc/w-d-xo.html
HINT: It has nothing to do with you works or good deeds!
I'm confused? cause it seems he's not really answering the question at all. he just said here let me change what you said.
eli ruiz You are saved through faith ONLY, not works(baptism, good deeds, sacraments, etc.)
Read the book of Acts it's the book of conversion
Ali Kobaissi Do I need to repent though?
No... No is the, and was the answer. It is good to be Baptised... Believers should want to be... U will feel "Brand New" afterwards!
Ali Kobaissi What? Faith without works is dead. James 2:14-26
He said "it's the first thing scripture say that we should do as a sign that we believe."
That is an untruth, because there is no scripture that says we should be baptized as a sign that we believe and he didn't offer one.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:16.
Brother Paul said...you must be baptized for the remission of your sins! This sounds like a command to me
DONNAMARIE BOYD Luke 24:47
DONNAMARIE BOYD repentance is for the forgiveness of sins
Iron Hammer Luke 24:47 acts 3:19 Ezekiel 18:28-31
Iron Hammer I’ll dig deeper 1 Corinthians 1:17
Iron Hammer I know it doesn’t mean he didn’t baptize I think it emphasizes that preaching the gospel was more essential
When I grow up im still getting baptized
NO don't wait - get baptized asap according to Acts 2:38
You shouldn't wait until your older to be baptized. It doesn't matter if your young, you can still be baptized
Please see the movie the Last Reformation to learn about Book of Acts of the Apostles Salvation...Acts 2:38...

See below:
No need to be water baptized.
There is only one baptism for us today and it's done by the Spirit not a man.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
What does Mark 16:17 say?
During the disciples and apostles, water baptism was a salvation command pastor..look at Act 2:38 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
What if someone dies on their way to be baptized, will they still go to God?
Amy Gentry
Believe it or not I was just asking myself that same question.😞
Would it be like a "Oh well should have done it sooner" kind of thing or would you atleast get a pass for going to do it before death rudely came for you.
It is those who know what God wants us to do, have the capability to do it, and just don't do it that He will discipline.
yes
Amy Gentry I watched an episode on Answering Religious Error about that topic.
We who believe in Jesus who is our lord and savior and the son of god baptized or not we who believe shall go to the kingdom of heaven

If you are still on here, just an interested question. So what was John the Baptist baptising people into?
Acts 10:46-48 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Act 2:38-39 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mark 16:16 Jesus says, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned."
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
John 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
John the baptist did it cause it was commanded by God, Jesus told John to baptize Him because they must fulfill the word of God. The end...

I agree with you on the baptism but on faith alone without works I do not. Jesus said these words VERY CLEARLY, Faith without Works IS DEAD! We are not saved by works but faith automatically brings about works.
The Bible states that John only baptized unto repentance only in Matt. 3:11.
Just give scripture! Please answer Yes or no?
Jesus Loves Summah And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
Acts 8:37-38
The answer is genrally: Yes. After accepting Christ, you get baptized like it was in Acts 2:38-41 which is the fulfillment of Matthew 28:19 by the way. And receive Holy Ghost and then your journey has really begun.
John 3:16. Answer is no
John 3:16 those who believe in Him will believe in Mark 16:16. So yes.
@@Sunbear415 the answer is yes! The devil believes to .
Why couldn't you just say yes or no.
Zessu Fuma because the man does not know
The End Times then why are talking about this
@@mirellaaispuro668 except a man is born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. He who believes and is baptized will be saved. He who believes not the gospel shall be damned.
Zessu Fuma because he is trying to prove a point💛🙂
finally someone that understands! but I do kind of want a SHORT explanation of why or why nit
Is Baptizim a part of the new covenant ?

Leviticus 19:15
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
James 2:9
But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
well belief is a work and so is faith, so technically on the basis of works, you do have to have them to get to heaven
Im 13 and when i'm an adult im gonna get baptized
Don't wait get baptized asap according to Acts 2:38
@@wilby1414 okay im gonna try the soonest convenient time thanks
"Abraham didn't do anything..." Absolutely FALSE! Abraham believed and obeyed God for many years. What Abraham didn't do was the works of Mosaic Law because he preceded that law and Paul makes the point that the Jews were not made more righteous by obedience to the Law of Moses. You have to understand what you're reading.
100% correct
i want to be baptized 🥺
There is no need for water baptism today if you have believed and trust the gospel. That Jesus died shedding His blood, was buried and rose, for the forgiveness of your sins. This is what saves us. I Cor 15:1-4.
Jesus said through Paul:
1Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
The gospel that saves us today does not require water baptism at all, for any reason or by any method.
There is only one baptism for us in the body of Christ and the Spirit is the one who does the baptizing , NOT a man.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
1Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Serious question ... What is the purpose of Baptism? .. How and why have you assembled this twisted presentation?
I hear yadda yadda yadda, and have read through some of the comments. I'm out.
Reptile King If you want to be baptized, I can put you in contact with people who will be able to help you do it.
Find a Apostolic/Pentecostal church. They are some of the few churches who will baptize you In Jesus name which is the Biblical way.
I was baptized as a baby, does that still count? or do I have to do it again submertion style.
submertion. U have to know what you're doing too
yes you do it has to be a personal choice
I was baptized as a baby, does that count?
no I just explained that
why
wow glad I found this...so clear...I agreed this was truth...before and still.
Baptism is not a work. It isn’t something that you do; it is something that is done to you. The person baptizing you is performing the “work”; you are the recipient of the work.
I’m sorry to say that this pastor doesn’t understand dispensation of the Bible..he is blenderizing or mixing the scriptures for salvation..
How so?
Well, Dispensationalism is crap.
+3 IN 1 -Yes I am Traditional Roman Catholic and you?
+D. L. Starkey Well I'm afraid to say your preaching for 25 years was wrong. Q; What did Jesus order the apostles to do before he ascended? What did the Jews of the time believe dunking in water did, how would Nicodemus have understood the term "of water"? Please think it over.
I want to get baptized, but i dont know where. Pray for me, so he can make a way
You must be reborn to enter the kingdom of heaven. 🙏 God calls his children.
Amen my pastor, thanks a lot for the information
