Awesome, thank you for the site intro. We started on the south ridge guided by a more southish wind. Landed just north of Willow Creek on a flat field. I believe that valley looks even better.
Due to work, weather and life I don't know if I will make it down there this season. Follow the BAPA, and Santa Barbara Facebook groups for info on groups heading down there. It's usually on short notice.
hey nice video etc but its not new...I flew there tons in the summer of '92, that entire area...fond memories! coached old harry harris of pacific valley fame to fly another day while I lived in my hammock in a tree on wild cattle love to do a vol biv flight of that entire coast...miguel (canadian eh)
Mike's right. I've flown wild cattle. Don't like the launch, as it is tucked back deep. Also you landed in a bad rotor place with any beach wind you either need to land on the beach or at the small launch right on the pt above Sand Dollar. Back in the 90's a hang glider pilot died landing on top about where you did because he got rotored into the dirt on a strong wind day.
Beautiful flight

@@martinginsburg7222 Yep. I mention that in my blog post. The only reason I landed there in this video is because there was virtually no wind at all.
Isn't that a rotor at the beginning where you take off (behind the hills)
It faces NW which is the direction of the wind 90% of the time there. The three times I have flown it, the launch has been super easy and bump-free.
I want to learn!!!! Do you recommend any places? I live in LA
There’s some good instructors at Marshall I’ve heard
