Ok I know a lot of people are comparing this version with the George Salazar one while not knowing what this is from or about and I would like to just give a bit of background about it. This song is from season 2 of smash (a tv show). The song is from a fictional musical written for the show. In the show it’s the last song and before it is a really sad song. I don’t remember for sure but I’m pretty sure the creators of this musical in the show wanted to end the show with a bang and although the lyrics are sad, didn’t want it to end so depressing. Watch smash to understand more (it’s also a really great show)
Wow I definitely interpreted this song wrong. I had no clue it would be this upbeat and peppy. I think both George’s and Jeremy’s are very amazing pieces but they both have different meanings.
Afro jeremy Jordan’s, the guy who says “the time has come” in this version. also think he’s one of main actors of smash, but don’t quote me on that because I haven’t watched the show
I feel like this a perfect graduation song. The song can be taken as a departure from the physical world but reading the lyrics over it doesn't necessarily have to be taken that way. For instance someone's friend is graduated from high school and they [The friend] is an underclassmen or rising senior and wants to go with the graduated senior to college, being with them for more time. They can't go to college with them but they remember them in the school setting and they [graduated senior and friend] will reunite again at some time.
I'm in my school's glee club (no, it's not like the show at all) and about half of our club is seniors. When we have our final show, we're planning on singing this song as our senior sendoff song, and our directors are gonna sing it with us. You gave a pretty accurate description of how our underclassmen feel haha.
Lexi M. That's so sad but uplifting at the same time! I'm graduation in June and I have so many friends who are sophomores. When I committed to college they all were so happy but were literally crying at the same time, knowing I was leaving! I love this song!
Let's be entirely honest here, the songs were excellent but the writing for the show's characters really went downhill. Jimmy was poorly written and they seemed to have run out of filler ideas. But both the musicals were great and I'd love to watch them live.
Its amazing that 4 million viewers is not enough to keep a show on the air these days. Its all about money...money...money and more money. However if it was all about the art then maybe it might have been possible to produce this for less than $3 million an episode...wtf!
The time has come I'm flying away Mouth is numb Heart don't know what to say And although I'll be out of sight, dear Know I'll be right here Right here forever, ever, ever, ever And when you look to the night skies Don't think of goodbyes Think how I'm right here, ever, ever, ever Come! No, you can't come with me, stay I wish I could Goodbye I know it's hard to say Come! No, you can't come with me, stay I wish I could Goodbye I know it's hard to say Ouch! I know it hurts to stay I- I'd stay if I could But the universe won't let me So please be good And don't you forget me And although I'll be out of sight, dear Know I'll be right here Right here forever, ever, ever, ever And when you look to the night skies Don't think of goodbyes Think how I'm right here, ever, ever, ever
You can't expect a network to keep a show on when four episodes straight it had 1 million views. From the 1st Season to the Second the views went down, until of course the last four when it went up to 2 million. Although I loved the show I don't blame the network for not wanting to put in more money on the show.
I love this song. But I really dislike the upbeat music with the sadder more emotional lyrics. With some songs it works (Pompey) for example. But it does not work well with this song. I MUCH prefer the Two player game Joe iconic and George Salazar album Verizon
In the show the character writing it wanted it to be more upbeat to make the show go off with a bang to show that even though someone is gone that doesn’t mean they’re role in your life has been erased.
this show was sublime compared to that crappy show GLEE, most of the song catalog was original from bombshell to hitlist, I really enjoyed kat and Megan singing cheers, drink to that and I loved Megan singing they just keep moving the line and second-hand white baby grand, I love Kat's version of don't forget me and Hitlist song I'm not sorry and this one too
dont mind me. coming here because of Two Player Game(Joe Iconis' and George Salazar's album)
Órla me
same here
Yeah me too
Órla Legit me
SAME
oh my god 😂😂I've only heard the cover by George Salazar and I had no idea this song was so peppy, its beautiful 😂
Nerdstablook 13 I’m not a huge fan. The more emotional lyrics do not work well with the upbeat music in my opinion. I much prefer Gorge’s
I only heard this in the be more chill final performance bootleg, so this was cool to see
My goodness, I cried when George sang this

I don't know what George's meaning is... this one is about death
@@sejcai he is, in the second season at least. Jeromy played a main character. His character wrote this song in fact.

theaps514 my friend sang this in his theater class for the final project when he was a senior.
Me and my friends are singing this at our theatre banquet for our senior song!
theaps514 I had the same thought. I mean not the story part but you know what I mean
This was sung at my brothers graduation. It's soo good!
Me coming here from the BMC final bows knowing what kinda pep to expect vs everybody here from Two Player Game being sad and shook
SAME
I'm gonna miss this show...beautiful song
My friend and I are singing this at his going away party 😢😌
Damn George Salazar made it sound so sad
Nope, Jeremy, Kath and co, with Jo's writing made it sound.
no, both sound good (i prefer george and Joe, but this one is still good)
It is sad tho
I love this. Reminds me of BMC closing night.
This show was so great. I'm really going to miss it.
I love Jeremy Jordan wkdjjdndjndjs
Joe really wrote an E.T. fansong and had it aired on national television
Going to miss this so much! Would love to see Hit List and Bombshell in live theater!
I always pictured this would be a perfect graduation song from teachers to students
LOVE this song
My favorite song ❤️🔥
I love this song
This will go down as one the best songs in television history! Cancelled or not, you made history. Bravo!
It's going to be a real musical! Featuring Jimmy and Kyle too!
This is such a fun little diddy, dude

im crying :(
I'm in a glass case of emotion
Smash love forever!
This is really upbeat but the lyrics will always make me cry
I so want Hit List to be real.
I miss smash...
JOE ICONIS DESERVES RECOGNITION FOR THIS
I loved this show
Wouldn't believe how hard it was to find this 😂 George's version really took over, huh? I like his better but this one is actually FIRE! ❤
Let's be entirely honest here, the songs were excellent but the writing for the show's characters really went downhill. Jimmy was poorly written and they seemed to have run out of filler ideas.
But both the musicals were great and I'd love to watch them live.
SayYesToAwesome lmao she didn’t even do anything
Joe Iconis lol.
I wish there was going to be a Hit List show... maybe there should be a kickstarter (it worked for Veronica Mars, right?)
Wait omg I just realized it was Jeremy Jordan after listening halfway and reading the picture 😂 how is he everywhere with the stuff I’m listening to
Want this sung at my funeral
this song is AH-MAZING
Its amazing that 4 million viewers is not enough to keep a show on the air these days. Its all about money...money...money and more money. However if it was all about the art then maybe it might have been possible to produce this for less than $3 million an episode...wtf!
wishing it was still on TV!
I still can't believe this is a cover! I had no idea Joe Iconis didn't write this for the show!
I agree 100%!
0:47-0:49 will always remind me of my Asian friend Eric's singing
Archbishop Ohara Missouri?
+Portia Rockers yepp, Hi Portia
+highwire33 hi 😂. That's awesome that it's a fellow Ohara person
This show has been canceled, but Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is still airing? Makes no sense
The time has come
I'm flying away
Mouth is numb
Heart don't know what to say
And although I'll be out of sight, dear
Know I'll be right here
Right here forever, ever, ever, ever
And when you look to the night skies
Don't think of goodbyes
Think how I'm right here, ever, ever, ever
Come!
No, you can't come with me, stay
I wish I could
Goodbye
I know it's hard to say
Come!
No, you can't come with me, stay
I wish I could
Goodbye
I know it's hard to say
Ouch! I know it hurts to stay
I-
I'd stay if I could
But the universe won't let me
So please be good
And don't you forget me
And although I'll be out of sight, dear
Know I'll be right here
Right here forever, ever, ever, ever
And when you look to the night skies
Don't think of goodbyes
Think how I'm right here, ever, ever, ever

You're stupid
