It’s shockingly good. Had it just over a week here in the UK. Did a 30k progression straight out of the box. Really pushed me along nicely, struggled to run easy and hit a nice marathon pace. I train entirely in Topo and Altra, I knew this was coming but thought it would be too late for my spring marathon this year so I got the SC Elite v4 for its low drop and accommodating fit. But now I’m torn between which to wear for the marathon.
Hey man what’s your session shoe of choice amongst the Topo/Altras you have? I’m looking for a nice anatomical shaped shoe for a session that’s not a super shoe necessarily.
I just got the newest FWD Via model from Altra, I'm using it as a training shoe and hoping this will make my race companion for it, can't wait to try one on.
The magic really comes out at mile 20 of the marathon when your feet still feel great... full carbitex monoflex plate that you can still corner in and works with your feet/stride.
Thank you for the review - I've been waiting to hear from y'all and the BITR team. I've been loving my runs in the shoe. Been an off and on Altra runner for years, and thrilled to see them really step up with this shoe
I went for my first run in them today. I LOVED them. However the outsole is definitely not on par with the other super shoes. After 6 miles there was visible wear on the forefoot and feathering of the rubber. I’m not the type of runner that normally wears down outsoles fast especially on the forefoot. 60+ miles on adios pro 3 for example and almost zero noticeable wear.
Im really enjoying this shoe. It defenitely feels more like how a supershoe should feel. Did a lot of sessions, using it for my 10mile race this weekend
@@JB-hq9yj Do you have the Tempo V1? If so, I take it you like them? I never pulled the trigger but was always intrigued as Altra guy. Currently wearing Rivera 4 for my narrow feet
Yes! I moved from the torin to alternating with the torin and Vanish Tempo and now I have the vanish carbon 2! Absolutely love the Vanish carbon 2. Don’t buy these for daily miles though. I have 10 miles and there is significant outsole wear.
Is there a reason no one can make a carbon plated shoe with lock stack height? My 22mm Escalate Racers already feel like I'm wearing massive boots, 36 is absolutely insane
I am looking to buy the MOBO board for strengthening feet/legs. Has anyone here experience with this balance board? (I already own a regular wobble board without the hole)
Yes! Many of us have one! A bit expensive but a good tool. Mastering basic control is good but you need to add weights and other things to truly progress meaningful changes!

@@user-yl7lz1hm6r for 5k/10k and faster paces the Topo Cyclone 2. For longer tempo stuff the Altra Vanish Tempo.
Always go with what you’ve been training in !!

We love to see it as well
Love the sound effects lol
There were several takes where those sound effects were much louder….. -Matt
Sounds like she's not an Altra fan.
I think she might have been calling daddy out

Good luck!
Did they fix the awful tongue and laces?
Came for the baby
All I heard was background noise about some shoes, she's so cute 😊
Matt any idea when/if Altra will be releasing V2 of the Vanish Tempo plate-less shoe?
THIS.

Love my Altra Vanish Carbon 2 too! 🔥

I use my escalante racers for all my tempo/speed workouts and my vanish carbon's for race day - fantastic combination
Will you make an attempt at the baby stroller 1mile record?
What is it!??

These or UA velociti elite 2 ?
Weight and responsiveness wise, the vanish carbon 2 wins hands down. Durability wise, UA Velociti Elite 2 by a little
@@DoctorsofRunning tks!
An outsole ripping off at mile 10 is crazy
Does it fit like a wide in other shoes?
Not really. But that because I find it quite a low volume upper. So I think it depends why you choose a wide fit.
I think its pretty wide to be honest.
