Alex Hormozi said something I really liked: in the beginning of the game you are fighting a bear, and at the end you are fighting a dragon, but at the end you have a maxed out character with all the good armor and weapons, yet in the beginning all you have is a stick.

This is exactly it. We all want the maxed out skills but you first gotta play with what you got. It takes time to build. But in the end thats fun of it.

Watching videos like this, while on the coding path, is really amazing. I come from a similar background and like you mentioned, it’s very hard, goals are limited to your direct environment, and breaking that takes extreme effort. That little bit of time for yourself becomes coding time and it can wear on you…but I love to code, and I can’t wait to work on higher end projects. Thanks again for posting, this is great stuff.

After like 700 apps I just got an internship that pays 40/hr 5 minutes away from my home. I'm pretty nervous and trying to prepare as much as I can to be technically strong when I get there so I can get a return offer. Your mental strength is crazy and thats exactly what I want to develop.

Totally makes sense. I think every aspiring SWE going the non-traditional route should put in some self-taught time to prove to themselves that they really want this.

Hey brother, any way to connect with you? Wanted to ask some career advice, the startup that was employing me folded.

Bro you really have so much value to add
Just make 'em shorter and more click-baity and cater to your audience and you'll succeed

@Neonb88 thanks for the support! Every video ive been trying to improve just a little bit. I thought about clickbait stuff but in the end, i think maybe slow growth is better as even if the channel took off, i wouldn't have the supporting skills and structure to maintain it. I could be wrong. but thinking about this like a coding project almost. haha
