So many memories coming back... These where the days when video games where made to be fun and challenging, and not all about flashy graphics and online gameplay and the rest of the miner stuff... I miss those days and most of all I miss this game, Tomb Raider 2 was the very first game I ever got, thanks for this amazing trip down memory lane, you reminded me what video games are really about =)
Oh yes, what memories! Tomb Raider 2 was actually my FIRST pc game I ever played. The game level design was incredible and there were very long too. one of the best in all of TR games.
Man this game is flipping hard those silent pistol dudes are annoying especially the last one u need to kill to get the door open to the hideout, thx for making this guide dude its most useful to many people
For those of you on Facebook join the tomb raider fan page because the game developers participate in discussions and there are a lot of people who want a remake of TR 2 and 3 because these levels will look amazing in high definition graphics. In the meantime I'm going to get myself a PS2 so I can play the originals.
i got this game a while back for £2 and replayed the entire game. the nostalgia was overwhelming. honestly, anyone who played this as a child go and replay this game!!
Tomb Raider 2 is my favorite of the series. The puzzles are so creative! The Deck is an awesome level. BTW, I never realized you could bypass so much of this level.
I spend so long playing this game and never really understood why it was so amazing. Looking back, I think its the total lack of music (apart from the scripted set pieces), the atmosphere was incredible. The sense of exploration and adventure as well, I can't think of many modern games that has captured that.
I never got anywhere after unlocking the boat shed as a kid...I used to play the first level and up to that part of level 2 over and over. If only I were still that easily entertained.
You don't need the secrets. If you get all 3 on a level then you get a bonus; either a weapon or lots of ammo for a weapon, sometimes both. Therefore if you missed a few it doesn't matter!
If you swim -under- the door at about 8:20 then the timer will not trigger and you can take as long as you want =D Otherwise see the no-shortcut walkthrough.
@ImJustRandom1000 Tomb Raider 2 was great. Did any of the other Tomb Raiders have such cool levels like Venice, Bartoli's Hideout, the Opera House, or the upside down ship? I would really like to play more great adventure games like this.
If you are referring to the doors right at the end of the level closing before you get there then you are probably running out of time. The No Shortcut version of this walkthrough might be of use (see video response). Other than that I'm not sure what the problem could be :\
yes, it;s exactly the same game on the ps3, they haven't changed anything, not even the graphics. Though you can enable 'smoothing' using the PS button to make it look a little bit less pixellated.
Are you using the PC or the PS version? To avoid the timed sequence you must go under the door in the room with the switch. Going over the ramp will trigger the timer. However, if you want to do it that way then you must open two gates to let your boat through quick enough to reach the doors. If you want I can make a video walktrhough of how to do this.
Only now do I realise what an amazing shot Lara is to be able to hit a goon on the balcony above her whilst continually doing 360 flips from side to side!
@killer236448 haha yea! As soon as you walk down that alley they come running at you. The huge guys with the balaclavas weren't too inviting either. What a game! Good times
You missed some Uzi clips in the area before you pull the loch switch - under the water! *wink* I loved this level though so well done on posting it for the less experienced to learn the route and order of play!!
I want it too but it's doubtful you'll be able to find it new. All I own are the demos after the first one. I heard the company was going to make remakes but I'm not sure it's official. I only own TR1.
i rememeber when i bought this i was about eight, and i went to a place called HORC, it was a pawn shop and i paid for the game (20 dollars) in pennies. So many memories
I remember I played the demo for Last Revelation when I was 7 and I was afraid lol.The jackals came out of friggin' nowhere and it was so dark. My mom got me the one for Dreamcast along with Sonic Adventure 2. I never opened Revelation to this day, but I played the hell out of SA2 lol. Now that I watch this, I'm intrigued again.
@BlinkBoyBrad haha yeah, so true! TR1 and 2 took, like, 2 months to complete without a walkthrough! You'd complete a level every couple of days if you were lucky!
i love this game.. god knows how long i spent tryin to figure out what to do in this level. anyone kno the name of the piece that starts playin later on in the level?
Apparently they're producing a remake of Tomb Raider 2. Eidos is closely observing blogs on its webpage, and checking its financial information to see if there is room for another one, the majority of fans want another remake.
This was my favourite Tomb Raider, finished it without any cheats or Walkthroughs. It was very addictive. Thanks for posting.

Your Level-Videos are very good!

SO many good memories playing this game when i was younger!!
I still play this game. I had it for playStation and on the pc. I still didn't find all of the secrets thanks for uploading.
Dear Core Design,
I simply love what you've done with the sky. Very nice indeed.
Signed,
Billy Pantrout.

My favourite Tomb Raider game ever. The very best. Love it.
Damn, I haven't played this since 1998. The sounds & music tends to bring back more memories than the visuals.
Brings back all the good memories... Good times
My all time favourite level-set. Thanks for sharing, I have posted it to my Facebook page for others to get a feel for it!
this bring back memories... my favorite tomb raider game!!!

My god! I HAVE to play through these again... NOSTALGIAAAAAAA!!!!!
If you swim -under- the door at about 8:20 then the timer will not trigger and you can take as long as you want =D Otherwise see the no-shortcut walkthrough.
You must swim under the door on your way out of the area with the button that opens the exit. If you go over the ramp, that triggers the timer!
this is my favorite mission of all the T R games !!
tomb raider 2 is the best tomb raider game in the world, i remember playing this level when i was 12, and even noe, i stand by my words!
@ImJustRandom1000 Tomb Raider 2 was great. Did any of the other Tomb Raiders have such cool levels like Venice, Bartoli's Hideout, the Opera House, or the upside down ship? I would really like to play more great adventure games like this.
If i am correct you can just put the cd in your pc and rip the music of the cd.
thanks for helping me finish the level dude, I remember I heard the timer click when you enter with the boat at the gate opening switch
this game was one of the best back in those days!
Great game, started playing again.
i still wonder why the "warning" sound is played at 2:57
I used to love this game!!! especially when she was in Venice!!!
oh yeah, I remember this. I played and ended this game when I was just 12 :) one of my favourites :D

Yes it is timed. You can see this in the video response.

brings back the memories!
Damn nice. I remember playing this on the PS1 while i was in Galveston on vacation...
I was the exact same, didn't know what to do after getting boat but was fun to drive over and over
@MrBlingBling93 no. The TR Trilogy for PS3 includes Anniversary, Legend and Underworld.
@BlinkBoyBrad definitely dude, tomb raider was one of those thinker games. and they still kinda are, just less challenging.
Swim up to it and press the action button. On the PC version this is ctrl by default :)
@killer236448 haha yea! As soon as you walk down that alley they come running at you. The huge guys with the balaclavas weren't too inviting either. What a game! Good times
"whoknows" delete and page down are the default sidestep buttons.
Classic game !!!!!!! This takes me back ! I've Gotta get this on psn just for nostalgia :-) I know all the levels so well
WOW what a nostalgic trip :D I was a big fan of this game (and am still a Tomb Raider fan) Haven't played Underworld, though
Venice Viollins, theme from Tomb Raider 2.
Absolutely, it made the game.
I used to love this game.
theres usually two dogs in the room just after the boathouse key isn't there?
Yeah youre right, toward the end of the level
ahhh the old days.....love it :)
this might be a stupid question but if you buy TR2 or any old TR game for the PS3 frm the ps store do cheats still work??
Favorite level ever!
You missed some Uzi clips in the area before you pull the loch switch - under the water! *wink*
I loved this level though so well done on posting it for the less experienced to learn the route and order of play!!

Great game memories from the year 1997.

I'd love to compose for a soundtrack for a game like Tomb Raider 2! Composing music like this is fun!
What system is this for? Is it an emulation the sky seems to be corrupting
this is the best of tomb raider!
This game used to scare me when I played it alone in the dark...something about tigers and stuff jumping out at you...and the eerie music
It was such an amazing improvement from the first one...
This is level 2 right? This one, and the one after are my favorite TR levels all-time :D
How did you done this without the boat? :D
I loved the first 2 tomb raiders - got many fond memories of play with it with my dad. I wish my PS3 would play TR2. Anyone know how to make it work?
I remember playing this game years ago! haha, i love the venice music
i love this game had it since i first got my PS1 but never really knew how to play just got it and i love at im at the boat part atm
@iris030380 oh yeah, now that last statement I totally agree with. The new ones have their place- they're fun, but not a patch on the originals.
love !! lovee !!!! love tomb raider 2,3,4
i love this game.. god knows how long i spent tryin to figure out what to do in this level. anyone kno the name of the piece that starts playin later on in the level?

We need to start a petition for Tomb Raider Anniversary 2!!! This is a classic we have to see in better graphics!
