Research methods refer to the techniques and approaches used to gather and analyze data in a systematic way. There are different types of research methods, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods.
Qualitative research involves exploring and understanding phenomena through in-depth interviews, observations, and analysis of textual or visual data. It focuses on capturing rich, descriptive information and uncovering underlying meanings and patterns.
Quantitative research, on the other hand, involves collecting numerical data and analyzing it statistically. This method aims to measure and quantify variables, establish correlations, and test hypotheses using structured surveys, experiments, or existing datasets.
Mixed methods research combines both qualitative and quantitative approaches. It seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of a research question by integrating the strengths of both methods. This can involve collecting and analyzing both numerical and textual data to gain a deeper insight into a phenomenon.
