    Academy sports have these on sale for $299 I believe. I have a couple of revolvers but neither of them are Taurus'. I really like the finish, size and grips on these revolvers so I'm thinking about picking one up.

    These are great little revolvers & the 6th round is a plus, I’ve had mixed quality with their products over the years but can’t deny the value

      I have had a very similar experience with Taurus but I believe they are trying to address their quality issues.

    Excellent video! Yes, the early Taurus models imported into the USA tended to be built on Beretta or S&W machinery in Brazil, and they were incredible handguns. Taurus started making their own models, and I bought the very first generation PT111 Millenium 9mm, in 1995. I sent that gun back to Taurus 4 times before they finally "fixed" it. The gun would have a catastrophic failure each time. The disassembly latch would break while shooting locking the slide back so tight you couldn't move it. I sent the gun back in that position each time. Finally, they claimed they installed an updated disassembly latch with stronger metal. I shot 100 perfect rounds with it, the most I had been able to get through. The gun sits in my safe all these years, as I still don't really have confidence in. It was a great concept, a little smaller than a Sig P365, but still holding 10+1, just wasn't executed properly by Taurus. The gun shops were really pushing the PT111, selling you on the lifetime warranty, and the free NRA membership. I haven't bought another Taurus!

      @gracedagostino5231 The Millennium series line had serious problems including sear blocks breaking causing dead triggers and it was why that series was discontinued. The G2c first of the G series line fixed all that and became the Taurus benchmark auto in 2018. New management and CEO took over Taurus USA. Former Walther employees that know what they are doing and turned things around.

      I bought a PT111 when they came out. I carried it as a back up, and later on some plain clothes assignments. Never had an issue. Several Taurus guns later I can only say how well they worked.

    Taurus 856 snub was the first handgun I ever bought myself after moving to Colorado in 2011. Blued steel finish. Solid little gun and I still kind of regret selling it.. wanted something that could take 357 as well. A smith 60-15 3” holds its place now. I always make sure to keep at least one revolver.

    I bought my 1st Taurus revolver in the mid 1980s. A model 66 in 357 Mag. Lockup was pretty loose. Lots of machining marks. Fit was mediocre. Accuracy was meh. One cylinder was off enough to spew lead all over anyone shooting near me.
    In the mid 1990s, I went back to Taurus and got a 357 Tracker. Wow! So much better. But the front sight insert melted. I sold a lot of 92 Autos in my shop. Taurus would toss in two hi-cap mags for free. But these free mags often locked the slide back with 1 round left in the mag. Annoyed owners would get two 10rd mags to replace the malfunctioning hi-caps.
    I bought a Taurus 605 a while back. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality & accuracy. I'd buy Taurus again.

    Hey Matt! Good video and yes I'm all about those three inch revolvers. Guilty! That is a nice looking, trim little gun. It's nice to hear that they seem to be working on a better firearm. I think it's important to keep in mind that at some point all the manufacturers drop a turd now and then. I mean look at the issues with the Colts. In a perfect world we wouldn't have to deal with any clunkers however, our world is not perfect. Good customer service/ support can go a long way when our guns get fussy! Like the revolver reviews Matt. More please!

    New sub, great video, thank you!!! I have the Taurus 605, it was the first revolver that I had ever bought and I have not had any problems, great revolver for the price. Shooting 357's out of the 605 is not pleasant so I only carry and shoot 38 special +p so at some point I would love to get an 856 just to have that 6th shot.

    Taurus revolvers were never S&W clones, they have a totally different mechanical design.

    • @johnelder4273
      @johnelder4273 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The early ones on the 80s were made on S&W machines and the de ssf ign was a simplified/cheaper to produce design that was created by S&W before they sold off to the Brazilian company. So, they weren't "clones" but they were S&W designs and were pretty good revolvers. Much like the Beretta clones (not all parts interchanged but most did) Taurus built on Beretta machines.

      @@johnelder4273 I don't like using the word "clone" because it implies an "exact" copy. That is why I use the word "copy" instead because a copy is not exactly the same like a clone.

    Taurus is still having issue today 💯. I have the 605 Toro. When I first bought the gun it had scratches on the right side of the barrel. I should have sent it back instead of getting it bead blasted. Some were worked out but all we're not gone from the gun. Another issue I have with Taurus. When I sent it back for the holosun plate inspection. They shot it and returned it back to me dirty🙅🏿🤷🏿🤦🏿😳🤬😡❗I won't buy anything else from Taurus, behind that shit👎🏿👎🏿

    • @rbm6184
      @rbm6184 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @CreasyEQ Taurus is not alone on poor quality control. Smith and Ruger have been just as bad if not worse since the plandemic and there are plenty of videos to back that up. Other "name brands" also. If it had scratches that you did not like then you should have gotten another. You should always inspect a gun before buying whether used or new. My 856 was dirty from factory firing also but no big deal. You are just nit picking with those little things trying to put Taurus down.
