Not correct. Pitcairn is relatively close to the Gambier Archipelago. Tristan da Cunha is much more isolated, not to mention that it lies in the treacherous waters of the cold, rough, South Atlantic.
Do research it actually. Research all of history, not just the positive aspects, as it gives you valuable insight into how society works today and where it's likely to go in the future. The history of the Pitcairn islands teaches us many things, among the lessons to be learned is how toxic a lot of our ideas about society actually are, and how men raised in this toxic environment are frequently extremely dangerous to those around them
They are subsidized by British government. A while back they moved them all off to New Zealand, Australia, or somewhere. But a lot of them wanted to move back to Pitcairn Island. They have a small jail. Over history they've done some not so nice things on the island. As you may well imagine.
