100% couldn't agree more. Everyone feels miserable by the changes in the past twelve months and so many ppl, myself included has observed how Perth has gone downhill in the past year or so. I went to private ED the other day and even there hospital had no beds available. Ppl we're having to spend the night sleeping in ED. And let us vote on their pay rises not them!!! Bring their wages back to base wage that was given before they kept giving themselves pay rises and let us democratically vote according to their performance. Wages can be negotiated according to the prosperity of the people they are paid to represent. Bonuses if the people get bonuses, only from profits not more debt. No pensions for politicians, they get huge salaries from their protected businesses. No pensions for politicians. And let’s discuss the 7% tax already paid for legit human pensions! Our money not politicians. Pensions already paid for, not a burden on the next generation and if it is it’s because politicians are using our security for themselves.

Some of us were calling this out a decade ago when Chinese cash buyers started popping up at every second auction in Sydney and Melbourne, but were branded as disgusting racists. Foreign buyers only make up 3.7% of housing sales in Aus. Source NAB. Keep in mind other countries are cracking down on their citizens buying Australian housing because it disadvantages them as a result of that money not being invested into their own country. China in the last years have put a cap on their citizens only allowing 50,000usd a year to be transacted into other currencies. In reality the Australian housing market is fucked for much different reasons such as taxation/legislation, demographics, zoning, construction shortages and immigration to some limited degree. In reality foreign buyers play an extremely small role in the housing issue

Social scientists have been telling us since the 1980s the current approaches by 'western nations' (Australians included) is not competitive with the asian "third world countries' and we in teh west are the third world countries of the future. We have no industry, no housing, farming is being eroded, our nation is dependent on iron ore and to some extent universities and tourism. Our dollar has bottomed out under LNP. In 2012 or 2013 the aussie dollar was better than the USD (when i went o/s), and now we are lucky to get 0.6USD in conversion. yep we are the lucky country.. lucky to have such incompetent leadership.. oh and yes aren't we lucky to have the US storing our fuel for us because our own government is too stupid to build refineries and storage facilities.. In 2022 the banks predicted a big correction in property prices and the government, their donors and lobbyists got worried about their property portfolios and decided to increase immigration to record levels, they knew there was a housing crisis emerging causing massive rent increases, homelessness, first home buyers locked out of the market and a cost of living crisis, they knew all this but still put their own interests above that of the voting public, even now the government have accepted that buying you first home is out of reach and their solution is to own 40% of your home, in 5 years they will increase it to 50%, another 5 years to 60% and so on. Australia is no longer the lucky country, its only lucky for special interests that have hijacked control of the government.

They appear to love taking family homes off families and giving it to landlords as new rooming housing so landlords can make 🤑 4x rent. Just about everyone I know are couch surfing, living with family, fearing eviction as landlords sell for capital gain, living in caravans, cars, we see people in City on streets begging, tents under train bridges. Yet WA Govt keeps telling the World and Sydney/Melb to come on over. Lines of 60 people at house viewings or rental viewings. House sales at bottom are climbing $10k a month minimum. It's insane that WA Govt wants Sydney prices and that housing market. If you are planning to come have money for hotel rooms, Airbnbs, a 🏕.

With composting incinerator toilets and grey water regulations, screened from the road, why would you not allow say 2 to 3 tiny homes. The housing shortage is Australia wide in every state, there is families with children living out of tents and vehicles everywhere. It’s only going to get worse and I don’t see thing’s getting better any time soon. Australia is screwed,I never thought I’d say this as a born and bred 56 year old Aussie but I’m seriously considering leaving Australia with my wife and kids. They have money and can easily afford homes here. Plus the wealthy in Australia, especially those that own many properties, love the immigration as it keeps pushing the price of their assets going up.

There should be a temporary hold on immigration when there is a housing crisis where Australians are unable to find accomodation. To allow immigration at this point I agree is reckless. Adding more people to the mix doesn't work and is causing undue stress. Although strangely enough you will find the immigrants are housed and it's the Australians that are struggling. Funny that!
