Great picture! The only thing about the 8 mm gage home movies is that the actual normal speed would only offer 16 frames per second on it, as opposed to the regular standard 24 frames per second format, that you would normally find on most 16 mm cameras and which gave the image a slow motion kind of dreamy, but surrealistic look to it. I know that Jim Morrison use to love filming most of his documentary’s material in super 8, or even with a 16 mm Bolex camera, during his escapades with the Doors out in the desert at the time. Too! bad that you didn’t have a flood light while you were filming this in the audience, for a much better optimal look. But, hey! nobody’s perfect...right? Lol! Thanks a lot for sharing these little downloaded memorabilia treasures on the TH-cam files with us. Johnny, Montréal, Canada.

    Huh.
Most young people born after, say, 1975, perceive Morrison as a "legendary", larger-than-life, hero/demigod, etc.
However, the youth of 1969-1971 consisted of quite a few people, actually, who would roll their eyes and give the universal "hand jacking off" gesture at even just a passing mention of the man.
Funny how as more time has elapsed and marched on by, stuff that was considered "a joke, something to laugh about" and mediocre becomes, strangely enough, priceless and phantastic.

Wrong film stock selection. Ektachrome can't cut it - providing that's what it is, which I doubt. Forget color - not perfect, but Tri-X would've been adequate to the task.

Yes I was thinking the same. Hard to tell in this though. But it does seem like 1968 Jim.
There was a time period I think after this that he cut his own hair after being told that he looked scruffy. That lead to that funny haircut he had in the Morrison Hotel shoot.
