Agreed! It's faster to deploy a COB and latest-gen pop-up softbox, but I've found myself doing doc interviews in TIGHT spaces, and this was the best tool for the job, as even a COB with softbox wouldn't fit.
Dude, love the video! I was just looking at this light on B&H and then wanted to see some reviews on TH-cam and find your review, very helpful, thanks man!
Curious if you use the RGB color functionality much and did what situations? I’m debating on the full RGB vs Bi-color. I see this as the ultimate interview key light.
I have used it for a commercial shoot where they wanted dramatic contrasting colours. I’ve switched all my daylight and bicolor lights to full rgb - even matching lights with the green and magenta have been useful so I’m all in for rgb and don’t see myself buying bi or daylight only again
Hi! It’s Strobepro and it’s a more traditional softbox for bowens mount but it’s super-fast to deploy. strobepro.com/collections/rapid-snap-softbox-octabox/products/strobepro-rapid-snap-softbox-32x47-large
forgot to add, I use it with my Godox VL300 and Aputure 600d Pro with great results. But wanted a slimmer profile light that is full RGBWW for location doc work
I’ve already used it in an interview where the control box was placed within 5ft of the interviewee and didn’t even hear it at all. I’m sure there must be some fan noise, but nothing like my 600d pro.
Interesting , I never thought to set the cross bar first on the stand , I use a knuckle are too , the supplied one is a bit pants. Great light for locations , Goldilocks size I think , enough of those massive ,deep softboxs taking up the room .
I agree about the knuckle - could be improved. but I started using it again with a grip head and now have a sturdier and safer system. And yes to the goldilocks size too! Love this light!

I use this mainly as my interview light, but at my last commercial job I was asked to shoot “hero” portraits with coloured lights. It was no problem with the RGB option, and was glad I made the decision last year to sell all my daylight and bicolour lights and only purchase RGB lights to future proof my lighting set ups.
@@dqstudios yeah.. I think that is a smart way to go. Part of my reservations with RGB is, in the past, output suffered, but it looks like those issues have been resolved. I just purchased the RGB version and is arriving this week!
@@timdanyo898 I had that reseveration too, but this light is bright! It also is more efficient on batteries than my older 300W daylight COB, so I'm enjoying multiple benefits. Congrats on the purchase and hope you like it as much as I do!
Got this light a few months. I love the quality of light and the output but I hate the build and breakdown.

Thank you for sharing this real time building the light video. Special appearance of the Mrs in the background around minute 4:45 🥳
Good catch Walter and thanks for watching!

Vlad! It’s not a light light but it’s a beauty! Merry Christmas buddy!
Nah bro, I stuck with you through take-down. Thanks for this walk through.
So appreciate you! Been loving the MEGA-6 even with its quirks. More complete review coming soon …

Does it seem light enough to boom on a standard size C-stand?
trick question! lol! I do it, but safety first: always test your exact setup and never leave it over talent unattended
Hello,
At 10:45, you mention a brand, but I don't catch its name clearly.
May I ask you which one is it, please?

Another question, please: what about fan noise? Is the controler loud? @@dqstudios
