Absolutely wonderful, thank you! I was so obsessed with Hammer films as a teen and your terrific research and behind the scenes details brought back all the excitement that I felt. Much appreciated! I remember begging my older brother to take me to see The Legend of The 7 Golden Vampires when it opened in London. I believe it was a good old X film! I was only 13 and had to wear my highest platform shoes and speak in my deepest voice when buying the Kiora😃 Happy memories!
Thank you so much for sharing your personal experiences. Legend is definitely a teen agers dream movie - its a shame our censors did not see it that way and anything with a bit of boob or blood got slapped with an X. Fortunately we had pretty slack cinema attendees that would turn a blind eye to someone under 18. Platforms would of definitely helped height wise. Thanks for sharing the journey with me. Crab :)
It's sad to see how things went downhill for Hammer. It would have been interesting to see how Hammer films would have evolved into the 80s. On the other hand, perhaps things would have gotten even worse. Excellent work, Crab!
An elegiac and loving conclusion to your sprawling epic of British cinema's last heroic stand ...Hammer horror. This firmly secures you as my favourite channel along with the rest of your content crabby and I've learnt much from your always amusing and insightful production. Kronos may actually be my favourite Hammer outing and thanks for giving it the love it deserves. I was briefly attached to a Kronos reboot project in 2008-9 but sadly the production company folded as quickly as it was conceived . Never mind. So sad to Learn Veronica Carlson passed away from this episode...everyone talks about the Bond girls but it's the Hammer girls for me every time. Thank-you so much for the shout out Crabby...you brought much joy to the Bermuda Triangle -dead zone that is my soul with that. Now...no demands or suggestions...you take a well earned rest and looking forward to the next retro treasure trove you deliver. Well done Crabby. PJ
Was truly humbled by that PJ and so pleased you have followed my work especially as it evolved out of nothing. Despite some faults - thats why i like you tube because it was a gateway to share a passion with like minded people. I enjoy making the programmes but knowing it interests and brings enjoyment to others is most satisfying. Hope it inspires others too and these little trips down memory lane is just the thing to take us out of reality for an hour or so - much needed currently. That was a sod what happened to the Kronos project - am not sure what New Hammer are doing now as its got terribly quiet. I was hoping for great things from them. Kronos would be an ideal place to start. I hope its not the last we hear from them as Woman in Black was so good. Anyway I am taking a little break for the moment until i get an urge to share more stuff with you. Once again thank you for the high praise and will look forward to sharing more retro goodies with you in the future. All the very best Crab :)
What a lovely suprise to wake up to on a Sunday morning - a new Crabby video! Thank you so much for this series, it's been a real education and great fun. The information on the availability of titles on DVD/Bluray is particularly invalueable. I look forward to what your next review will be. I recently watched a 13 part TVS show Knights of God (1987) available on yt, which I thought might be your sort of thing. Best wishes.
I just finished your entire series of Hammer Horror and I can only say: BRAVO. BRA-VO. Wonderful, I have never enjoyed a series of commentaries and analyses so gripping and entertaining. You, sir, are on fire. Standing ovation. BRAVO.
Thank you so much. I hope you find my current appraisal of Amicus a worthwhile watch, according to some it is in a similar vain to Hammer. I am pleased your pleased, enjoy 🦀
Satanic Rites of Dracula is a gorgeous film. The opening shot is fantastic and from there on it is really good. The plot is bonkers, but I mean - who cares? I always say to people, the crime is not that they made these films, the crime is they didn’t make more! What a wonderful world it could be if Hammer had put out 600 films in 1973 and we could watch them all to see which ones they got perfect etc… But in the mean time; the ones they did give to our world are a gift. Oh - and your reviews are great. It’s like hanging out with a really amazing friend with great insight into things I love.
Wow, what a channel this turned out to be, this series was epic. I rediscovered a couple of childhood favourites I didn't even know were Hammer. Sterling work.
Am so happy when I hear someone has discovered something new or re-jigged their memory as it is in the spirit of the channel. Thank you so, so much. 🦀🍎

Crab apple stunning work again 👍 thank you for all your time and effort digging up the info and artwork for the films truly remarkable ❤️ Yes Satanic rites and To the Devil are stunning Hammer films and watching this episode it was so sad to see a power house of horror just slip away 😢 Thank you for letting me know about 2 films I have never came across Shatter and Man at the top noticed the shower scene had Angela Bruce from Hammer House Of Horror tv series can’t wait to see where you go next 👍 Keep up the good work mate 👍 and think it’s safe to say you done it justice 😉

Sigh... the end of Hammer. Although they did leave a few gems in the waning daya. Kronos, Satanic Rites and 7 Golden Vampires are exceptional in all that made Hammer gteat. Warner bros really dropped the cash ball by not releasing 7 GV enmasse in 1974 - I know I would've been first in line dragging my father along because I was only 10 at the time. Thanks for another superb season (hint) waiting for your Ken Russell retrospwctive.
Another great episode 👌 All these Hammer episodes would make a great epic documentary put together and released as a blu ray (if only!) 😁 Kronos would have worked better imo as an Avengers style horror television series I suspect. I love Satanic Rites (and it's predecessor AD 1972) and so glad to see you like it too. To the Devil I actually quite enjoyed more than you did although do agree the ending was disappointing to say the least. Maybe if Widmark had been recast with Peter Cushing it could have worked more effectively as a more authentic Hammer? Anyway well done with these superb appreciations! Excellent 👍
Thank you so much. To the devil always reminds me of a first version - a dry run for something more polished but alas never surfaced.
