    Man seems like a wealth of knowledge!!! Reminds me of a beekeeping mentor of mine!! Learned something every time he opened his mouth.

    My friend....that catch with the bobcat was priceless. I hope all of the trapping community would see this so they can see how your dad's reaction and at his age, it never gets old and get the blood pumped!!

    Awesome video! The excitement from your father when he caught the cat put a huge smile on my face. I even had to rewatch it. I couldn't stop smiling. We both use the same word to describe a nice catch ... "dandy"

    Great vid! I like what you said about 'staying put' and sometimes you liked a spot so much you didn't want to leave. I had an unproductive tree stand I loved to hunt to watch the beaver and wood ducks. I've also been told the biggest problem bowhunters have is not being persistent enough (not staying put). The second biggest problem is being too persistent (not moving when you should).

    I enjoy watching videos about snare sets, I live in Maine and can't use snares except submerged for beaver or in the ground for bear. So it is always interesting to see the other sets people use.

    Great video, i really enjoyed it! So i have a question, my son and i have started using cable restraints in wisconsin and have had some luck on coyote but this year we caught 2 coyote that managed to have 1 leg plus the neck in the loop. We set ours about 8 inches from the ground with the max loop size of 12". Are we getting their leg cause the loop is too low or too big? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    • @NorthAmericanTrapperTV
      @NorthAmericanTrapperTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Possibly a little tow low or possibly a little big of a loop but you caught the coyotes, so I wouldn't worry too much about your methods. Tighten them up a bit and you will master your own craft as time goes on. Best of luck.

    What about chew outs . Mainly with coyotes.

    • @Vernbubba
      @Vernbubba 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m guessing lots of chew outs with coyotes if they are dumb enough to walk down the trail you have completely scented up. Coyotes aren’t stupid

      You do understand that hunters, trappers and land conservationists of use...….actually help the populations of these these animals as they would cease to thrive if not done in the moderation of control that is used in today's society. They thrive because of these responsible methods! Preservation becomes Extinction for some species rather quickly without Conservation! Understand the premise????
