Visually it looks good and the timing is good but on Tekki Shodan for example his wrists are bent down at strange angles, if he actually hit anything like this his wrist would break. This is somthing that should have been picked up by his Sensei, as it should'nt be a habit at this level.
Kata is a tool used to help develop a series of skills in an artistic performance and each move will be an expression of a technique there will never be a point in which you say this cannot be improved or made better but there will be many days on the journey in which you realise you have improved if you continue to study
I was being taught by master under direct service to indian karate association and under rules of WKF and Japan Karate Federation.. The katas perfomed here are not totally original as the Japanese origin..but are modified by this guy's master or maybe be his federation..but anyways his stance his poor ...the main shicodachi was the worst and which should have been best cuz it comes up many times...karate has very few jumps too so the jumps in katas have also been added...and just for everyone's account I became blackdan -1 4 years back
A good sensei will allow his students to focus and test out across the katas. The majority of my old dojo were brown and black belts, we would do all kata even the basic katas as they are the fundamentals to what we learn.
Well done, you can do that kata, but you don’t KNOW the kata. Green belts shouldn’t be focusing on Heian Godan, as they need Heian Nedan for their grading & to develop their technique through their hip work and stances before they can do Heian Godan.
Vera Pap it’s written black belt kata examination, if your a black belt you will recall that the examiner may ask you to do any kata even if it’s not a black belt kata

I know most of you are shotokan players and this is not shotokan, there are many mistakes and if you don’t like that just switch to other videos. For me if I had an exam I would watch some other video. Also the katas you need for black belt differ among countries

This kid had good stances, and performed the katas well, especially for a 1st kyu. Oh, and thanks for allowing us to switch to other videos. FFS
The boy looked to know his kata well but that looked like he was just reciting it in his spare time on a sunday morning they say blackbelt is the beggining hes got the shape but it needs colour and real energy and connection so hes got the skills but maybe not yet an in depth understanding of the importance of every strike block and cover. Keep up the good work do everyday is room for even more improvement
