Best purchase ever! I was not a coffee drinker until after i bought this. My favorite is the flat white and latte macchiato. I either sprinkle some sugar on top or add some sugar free syrup before brewing. Easy clean up. So happy with this product.
Great video! Two questions: Can you froth milk on it's own without making a drink? I know the other section is for pre-ground coffee, but could you put pre-ground tea in there?
Hi LP, Thanks for the comment and questions. Yes, you can create milk froth only. Pre-ground tea in the coffee bypass doser is not something we've tried. It's outside of prescribe use for the doser so cannot recommend. Best is to use machine's hot water only function for making tea.
Tips I've learned (Mostly from Mr. JAMES HOFFMAN, thank you!) and tested to acquire the best espresso (so far): 1. Only dry beans (oily beans clog the espresso machine) 2. No dark roasted beans (they are burnt; usually to hide imperfections) 3. The best taste occurs between 4-14 days from the time they are roasted (this is "resting the coffee" because the beans have to off-gas CO2) 4. To avoid watery espresso, dial a low grind/fine size (1,2,3,4) and fresh beans (before 1 month of roast date), this produces a thicker espresso 5. Lowest grind setting for DeLonghi Dinamica Plus machine is at a "3" (because any lower/finer chokes the machine) Thus, my optimal espresso Latte configuration is: -Five beans 🫘 (strongest intensity), - small ☕️ or medium size ☕️☕️ cup, -with dry medium-roasted beans, that were -roasted about 1-2 weeks ago -Vanilla Syrup (2 pumps or 1 table spoon for every small shot of espresso) -Half & Half Cream *pour cream until espresso resembles golden camphor burl wood
Wow thanks for the info. I just bought one on Amazon. I live in Puerto Rico so I’ll try to get fresh beans. So maybe buying Lavazza or other bean bags is not recommended because of freshness?
I am learning SO much from your channel! I’m looking to get my first espresso machine and I’ve been going nuts between things like the Juras, and I’m even looking at the more “manual” machines like the Synchronica. But This one actually looks like it would be a terrific first machine for me!
Hey vegasplayer, you're right in that it's a good starter machine. It won't have the flair of Jura or the customizability of some of the Gaggia machines, but the price point will certainly be lower. If you're interested in an entry-level "manual" machine (we refer to them as semi-automatic machines), check out the Gaggia Classic Pro. This type of machine generally takes a little more work on the user's part to dial in your variables (instead of simply pressing a button like on the Delonghi), and requires a separate grinder, but the results you can get are undeniable. Here's a recording of a live stream we did featuring the Classic Pro, part of what we consider the best value entry level home espresso machine and grinder combo: th-cam.com/video/jzvi36qbfhY/w-d-xo.html AJ
Grinder cleaning is not required. But some users do. Do avoid using beans with more than ~25% of surface covered with oil sheen. Supergrindz is a product made to clean grinders on this type of machine: www.wholelattelove.com/products/urnex-supergrindz-super-automatic-grinder-cleaner
I have this cofee machine. It's awesome. Nice adjustable foam, definitely visible change of how strong the coffee will be for the different types of coffee (a lot of adjustments for each taste). Simple cleaning (you can take out brew unit and reach almost all places for cleaning instead of grinder). I recommend a dinamica plus where you have touch screen and app for remote management (via Bluetooth). Two cons: you can't skip cleaning process on each wake up (even when you use app) so you have to change cups before you start doing cofee and second you can't change how many shots of coffee you want.
Hi i, yes in all machines like this there are internal plastic components which come in contact with hot liquids. All are certified as safe for this use.
Really dislike it when people don't read the manuals and complain when things go wrong or worse would rather call someone does read to get there answers. Sorry, it's a pet peave hold over from my service technician days.
Hi, great helpful video. How do I increase the temp, I like it quite hot? Plus, I put beans in the ground coffee hopper, by mistake, removed I think all from the tray, though I’m hearing a sound when making my coffee (have used the bean hopper now) as though a bean is flying around in the machine - damage/removal?
Hi Gaile, Super-automatic machines generally brew at 195-205F internally. Temp cools as the espresso/coffee moves from brewing to your cup. Cools quite rapidly when it leaves the coffee spouts and goes into your cup. And, if your cup is cold and big it cools even more. Know that most coffee tasters want a temp of 150F or below when tasting. As beverages get hotter flavor is harder to perceive. Tactics for hotter temps include pre-heating your cup, microwave to raisew temp after brewing and you can run a blank prep through the machine prior to making actual beverage. Usually accomplish that by selecting to brew a drink using pre-ground coffee and not putting any pre-ground coffee in the machine. For accidental beans in the hopper: in most cases beans should be expelled from the brewing chamber without issue. If still hearing odd sounds I'd remove the brew unit from the machine and makes sure all beans are cleared from brewing chamber.
Hi,great video!I bought the machine few weeks ago and still struggle with the grinder adjustment. I love my coffe strong and looks like i am losing the taste somehow .Now i have it on 3,but i am.bor sure yet. What is your recommendation?
Hi s, Depends on what you consider decent. Most bean to cup automatics with frothing will heat milk to near 140F/60C which is optimum for best milk flavor - milk's sweetest point due to heating. That's the temp well trained baristas froth to. For those who like it hotter it's best to go with a machine which froths manually so user has complete control of finished temperature.
@@Wholelattelovepage Ok good to know. Was just reading some reviews where the complaint was that they had to put the drink in the microwave to heat up. 140 seems fine. Just bought the Dinamica !
Very interesting. Is there a feature on here to make a full pot of coffee? I thought I saw it, but now can't. Do you have any suggestions on other makers that also have a full pot function, along with these functions?
Hi SB, Not something I've tried with this machine. It may be too thick to work properly but not 100% sure. If you already have the machine no problem trying.
Update: So tried the half and half, its okay for a regular coffee but anything fancy and its a no go, no layering or froth etc so saying I really only drink regular coffee !. I will buy some semi-skimmed and try a few more coffee’s just so I know how to make them for visitors. So far loving the matching though….thing is I’m not going to sleep tonight having drunk most of my test coffee’s ho hum !
Hi! The instruction manual suggest adjusting the grind while coffee beans are grinding, but I noticed you did it before initiating a drink. In your experience, have you found that it matters?
HI KH, Thanks for the question. Not a problem to adjust to a coarser grind setting without the grinder running. But, is adjusting finer either do with the grinder running or do one step finer at a time if grinder is not running.
Hi there appreciate the review, was wondering whats the model number of the machine in this video, one other question, are you able to use the frother manualy like in the semi automatic machines?
Hi, really enjoy your videos..... in reading your response to some of the questions asked, it’s clear that you tend to prefer the Gaggia Cadorna prestige over the Dinamica. Given the complexity of these machines, reliability is always a concern. What has been your experience in dealing with both manufacturers. Also, how do both models compare price wise? Thank you.
Hi Peter, thanks for the questions. With proper maintenance as recommended by the manufacturers, these machines can last many, many years. We regularly get reports of machines with 15,000+ brew cycles on them. Of course, there are always exceptions, which is where warranties can help give peace of mind should something go wrong. Delonghi has a 2-year limited warranty through them. As an authorized warranty repair center for Gaggia, we know these machines inside and out and are able to offer a 2-year parts and labor warranty in-house. Prices often change based on promotions, but currently the Dinamica with Lattecrema is $1,200 and the Cadorna Prestige is $1,700. Here are links to both: www.wholelattelove.com/products/delonghi-dinamica-with-lattecrema-espresso-machine www.wholelattelove.com/products/gaggia-cadorna-prestige AJ
If I have a bag of whole bean decaf coffee that I want to use to put in the bypass doser, and I have an ode fellow grinder what grind size would I use? Would I put it on its finest setting? I know it’s supposed to be for pre-ground coffee in the doser, but what grind size would be equivalent to pre ground coffee. Or should I just put it on its finest setting to get as close to espresso grind as possible?
Hi Ryan, thanks for the question. Take a look at the used coffee in the machine made from whole beans and try to match the grind size with the Ode. You could just start at the finest setting on your grinder. If it's too fine the machine will cancel brew, eject and you can try a little coarser.
those pours look amazing, I think i might have to get one - have a keurig for convenience and a breville which is more work but good pours. this looks like they put the best of the two together in one machine IM SOLD!
Hey Super V, Bean to cup super-automatics are the bomb! The Delonghi here is nice, but if you want to kick it up a notch be sure and check out the newer Gaggia Accademia: th-cam.com/video/jZWS38_Jge4/w-d-xo.html Makes the best espresso I've ever had from an automatic!
Hi TK, Yes, you can use non-diary milks. Here's a video testing a variety of those in super-automatic machines: th-cam.com/video/jO9l7oENq1Q/w-d-xo.html
How often do you have to descale? One review I read on a retail site that sell this machine said it makes a request to descale every 10 days. This would certainly discourage me from purchasing this machine. Because If I I'm trying to get to work, I can't spend 45 minutes descaling before getting my coffee.
Hi Angela, Thanks for the question. Only way I see descaling every 10 days is if the machine were brewing 50-100 cups everyday! Descaling frequency is based on source water hardness and use of a water filter in the machine. With filter use and water of average minersal hardness descaling frequency is likely in the 400-800 brew cycle range. Hope that helps!
Hi, great video. Loved the dopio plus shot can we use it for americano as well ? Saw a my double espresso plus in your machine, how to do it? So Yum 😊😊
Is there an option to buy a second milk carafe? We're a two types of milk household: soy and oats. It'd be so convenient to have two carafes to change out
Hello, great idea. Unfortunately, we do not sell separate carafes for the Dinamica. You should be able to get one directly from Delonghi if you contact them. AJ
What is the main differences between this one and the plus? I know the app is one; however i have not seen good things said about the app. Is the plus worth the $400 difference in prices?
Hi Robert, Should work fine so long as the thickness/viscosity is similar to standard whole milk or thinner. A lot of variation among brands of non-diary creamers so may take some trial and error.
We just bought this system and love it so far. Thank you for making this thorough review!! I have a question (and it may be controversial, ha!) but I like having flavored lattes & iced coffees. How and/or where would I put my flavored syrups for these drinks? I’ve tried looking it up and couldn’t find any information! Thank you!
Hey Alyssa, glad to hear you're loving it! Nothing wrong with flavored drinks if that's your thing. I'd add the syrups to your cup separately, either before or after brewing. Try it both ways and see which you like more. AJ
it seems like the 16 oz one is the highest it can go is that correct or is that milk spout also adjustable? thank you in advance if you see this comment & respond
I have just purchased the Dinamica plus. I watched your video on using the Dinamica but noticed you adjusted the coffee grind mill when the machine was idle BUT in the manual says “the grinding adjustment dial must only be turned when the coffee mill is in the initial phase of coffee preparation”. Which is the grind cycle I believe. This has me confused ?? Also if you choose cappuccino + is the milk milk dosage change automatically to give the correct ratio of espresso to hot milk to milk foam (1/3 : 1/3 : 1/3) ? I have subscribed to your channel so that I can lean more about been a home barista.
Hi Andy, Manufacturers keep things simple in the manuals to help prevent end-use issues. It's okay to adjust the grind to a coarser setting without the grinder running. When adjusting finer the grinder should be grinding. The two grinding burrs move closer together when adjusting finer. If grinder is not running beans can be crushed between them. Forcing things can damage adjustment components or bind the burrs. I'll need to check for sure but I beleive the Capp+ adds more espresso to the drink so the ratio changes. Thanks for subscribing!
@@Wholelattelovepage Thank you so much for your reply, it was very helpful. On the cappuccino + question ; yes I believe it does because the machine prompts me to set milk frocking dispenser to be set at level (the highest - more foam setting). The manual that I received was a multi lingual version and the English translation seems to have some holes in it when trying to follow re-programming logic e.g. although the machine is preprogrammed to produce different products no where does it specify what the make up or ratios for each finished product, I can only guess that the cappuccino and cappuccino + ratios are 1/3 1/3 1/3. I live in Thailand and it’s difficult (near impossible) to get English speaking or written advice. I just want to program a nice strong morning mug of cappuccino to start my day and make it a one button process. Thanks again for your reply, much appreciated.

Hi MG, Are you sure the machine totally completed the descaling cycle when you ran it? If the descaling was interrupted or not completed the machine will alert to descale again. If you are certain the machine was descaled completely I would run through the descaling cycle again without adding the descaling product.
Can you explain what the difference is between the Dinamica Plus and the Dinamica Lacremma ? Also you mentioned you prefer the Gaggia Prestige Cardona over this machine can you explain why? Im comparing both
Hi Lynn, I haven't gotten my hands on the Dinamica Plus yet, but it looks like that model adds a nicer color touch screen display, more drink options (such as a full pot of coffee) and app control to customize drinks from your smartphone. It appears that some models of the Plus may have also gotten rid of the iced coffee option, while others have it. We're expecting the have the Dinamica Plus in stock in August or September and will be doing a full review video of it at that point. Until the new one comes, I personally give a slight edge to the Cadorna Prestige. I enjoy the user profiles, one-touch americanos, proper double shot flat whites, and XL milk drinks to go. The Dinamica is a solid machine, but for me the Cadorna has all of the same features and more. AJ
Hi Joseph, I've never personally used the Philips 3200 LatteGo, but at a quick glance it looks like it has less grind settings, less drink presets, no iced coffee. A little cheaper, but also less function-filled. AJ
I usually add sugar to the cold milk before steaming(La Spaziale) as it creates a uniform sweetness. Can you add sugar to the milk in this system without fouling/clogging the foaming system?
Hi s, Not something we have tried and I'm guessing manufacturers would recommend against adding sugar to the milk. Think the worst that could happen is the frothing components might need some extra cleaning.
Help! I am losing sleep because I cannot decide between the De'longhi Dinamica LatteCrema Atutomatic Coffe and Espresso Machine or the Gaggia Cardona Prestige Super-Automatice Esspresson and Coffee Machine. Thre is a 700 dollar difference and Ice coffee on the De'longhi. What is the better machine? Better taste?
Hi Courtney, as you mentioned the benefits of the DeLonghi are the price difference and iced coffee (though the current price difference is $500 on our web site). It also has 18 pre-programmed drinks to the Cadorna Prestige's 14, yet I found the Cadorna's drink list to have more real-world relevance to what most people would choose. The Cadorna Prestige wins pretty much everywhere else - better screen, user profiles, one-touch americanos, swapping milk order preparation, etc. Drinks likely won't taste extremely different on the two, but for convenience, and user experience, I would consider the Cadorna Prestige the better machine. AJ
Hi b, Machines like this which froth automatically produce milk temps of 125-140F/52-60C when starting with milk straight from the fridge. That's the sweet point of milk flavor due to heating and the temp a well trained barista froths to for best flavor. That said, I understand some like it hotter. Tips for higher milk temps: Preheat cups, let milk warm up a little before use.
Hey, I can see you're still replying to comment - respect for that! If you're still using the machine, do you still like it (I'm planning on buying and wanted to know long term durability)? Also, how is it for plant based milks? Dairy doesn't agree with me unfortunately. I usually prefer oat milk.
Hi k, Thanks for the question. We do our best to continue to reply to original comments. Take care of super-automatic machines and they are reliable. We have regular customer reports of >10,000 brew cycles with nothing more than regular maintenance as prescribed in the user manual. Plant based milks work well, some better than others. Here's a video comparing a variety of plant based milks used in this type of machine: th-cam.com/video/jO9l7oENq1Q/w-d-xo.html
I love that machine! I want to make milk-based drinks and love the way that frother works. In your opinion, is this the best machine that has a carafe for the milk in that price range? Just wondering if there is a different brand I should look at as well. Does this machine have a 3 year warranty?
Hi CS, There are other options in Jura and Gaggia machines. The Dinamica is currently out of stock. Jura machines tend to be more expensive but with color screens are easier to use.
@@Wholelattelovepage Thank you for you reply. I am in the beginning of my research so not to concerned at this time about availability. I would just like to find the machine/brand that will give me the best cappuccino in a super automatic for maximum $1500. I really like the convenience of the carafe, and the cleaning system. I don't need all the different choices of beverage. But, I want a machine that is also reliable and with a good warranty. Haha, is that too much to ask?
Hi nb, instructions for making an iced coffee start on page 13 of the manual linked here: www.delonghi.com/medias/ECAM35075SI-222408?context=bWFzdGVyfGRhbV9tYW51YWxzfDE5MDc1NDI5fGFwcGxpY2F0aW9uL3BkZnxoNWMvaDVlLzM0Njk3NjM5NTI2NDMwL0VDQU0zNTA3NVNJLTIyMjQwOHxhYzNhNjdmZGE4MjYyMDhkYTY4NDJjZjI0M2U5M2MwYzhmNTg5YWFkMjU5ZWEwMTUwZGU1ZDk0ZDIwM2ZkNDQw
Love the video - Just wondering how this compares to the Dinamica PLUS model with touchscreen and app? Is it newer than the LatteCrema, and the question which would you choose?
Hey Paul, I've personally never used the Dinamica Plus, but it looks like it adds the touchscreen and app control (as you mentioned), as well as the option to brew a full pot of coffee. It also seems they removed the iced coffee feature, so something to consider if you want that option. Other than those different drinks, everything else should be the same internally and drink quality will be identical. Looks like there's about a $500 difference, so it all depends how much you value those luxury features. Personally, if I was going to get into that price bracket, I'd probably look at the JURA ENA 8. AJ
Hey! Thanks for your videos, they're helping me really much on learning about coffee machines. Casual and direct question: would you recommend this one or the Gaggia Magenta Milk?
Hi Andrea, You are welcome for the videos and thanks for your question. Unfortunately I cannot give an opinion on the Magenta Milk as it's not a machine available in the US market at this time. I can say I prefer the Gaggia Cadorna Prestige.
Hi David, I'm not sure the exact gram dosage as DeLonghi doesn't list this info. Based on looking at the spent pucks, it appears to be on par with most other super-automatic manufacturers. AJ
Hi I have just purchased the dhlonghi Dinamica Plus and it tried the flat white. The coffee is Luke warm. Is there anything I am doing wrong? Or would I need to customise anything? Any tips would be really helpful.
What are your views on this & the Gaggia Cadorna Prestige? Besides being able to adjust the milk froth. Any opinions on which makes the better cup & is easier to use & maintain? Thanks
Hey 4wolverines, Love the Cadorna Prestige. IMO the Cadorna line are the best superauto machines of the year. The Dinamica with LatteCrema is great, and certainly an improvement over the previous version, but the Cadorna Prestige is in another weight class. That said, you'll pay more for it - around $500 right now. The Dinamica wins with its adjustable milk froth and iced coffee feature, but the Cadorna Prestige wins in user interface, drink selection, customizability, and user profiles. I didn't dig a ton into the cleaning on the Dinamica other than the quick carafe clean show in the video, which is a nice feature. We've been using the Cadorna Prestige as our daily driver in the studio for many months and use/maintenance is simple. Very clear maintenance menus for quick milk clean, deep milk clean, descaling, and brew group cleaning. I haven't done direct side by side drink comparison, but straight espresso should similar for be each, Cadorna's ability to flip milk/espresso preparation order gives you more options and better quality in cup for some milk-based beverages, and the one-touch americano is a great option. Cadorna will also grind/tamp/brew twice for double espresso/ristretto/lungo/coffee, which the Dinamica won't, so it wins there if you're making two drinks at once. AJ
Hi Sabrina, Not aware of a larger milk reservoir. You might be interested in Jura machines which use a pick up tube for milk. You could drop the tube into anything holding milk or they have countertop refrigerated milk supplies.
What can you say about the cleaning of the inner system? As you probably know most of the automated expresso machines have this problem with mold coffee in the inner system. How easy can this machine be cleaned?
Hi Sergiu, regular cleaning helps prevent this issue and Delonghi is straight forward with their cleaning procedures. The Dinamica performs an automatic rinse cycle any time it's powered on or off, which helps clear out the internal circuit. There is a removable brew group (referred to by Delonghi as the infuser) that you should remove and clean once a month by soaking in water for 5 minutes then rinsing with warm water (no soap). The descaling process is straight forward and prompts you when to do it. The place I most often see mold in super-autos is inside the dreg drawer when spent coffee pucks have been left to sit for a while. This can be solved by emptying the drawer more regularly, or if you do encounter old/moldy pucks, a quick rinse/spray with the faucet cleans it out easily. AJ
Thanks to your great review, we bought this machine yesterday. In the video you mention temperature control. I’m finding the coffee lukewarm at best, could you tell me how to change that. I can’t seem to find a setting. Secondly. My machine seems to ‘rinse’ before and after every coffee. How do I stop this? 🙈🙈 Thanks in advance.
Hi Sophie, to adjust temperature, press the gear icon to enter the settings menu, scroll to "general" then "set temperature". From there you can select low, medium, high, or maximum with the arrow keys, then press "ok" to save it. I don't believe there is a way to turn off the rinse cycle as it is designed to keep everything clean, but it should only perform it automatically when the machine is turned on or off. I generally keep a cup nearby and rinse into that so I don't have to empty the drip trap as often. AJ
Hi Sanda, despite common misconception, there is actually no such thing as "espresso beans." Certain coffee beans are grown and roasted to be more suitable for espresso, but you can use the same type of bean for both espresso and regular coffee. The difference is simply brewing style. AJ
Hi el, Set your grind to fine with strength and temperature set to max. Then make volume of drink appropriate. Double up brew cycles with lower volumes to make a single larger drink if needed.
Hi Linda, I would make plain milk froth and add chocolate. Could add before or after frothing then stir to mix. Best not to add chocolate withing the milk carafe prior to frothing.
I sell a lot of coffee machines. I often see returns of Delonghi product due to faulty manufacturing. I haven’t used them myself but customers used to come in asking about why their machine quit. Usually an unnecessary censor went out or something.
Thanks for the learning experience! I am researching and was almsot decided on the new magnifica evo when I saw this model on discount this week in Australia. They come at the same price! I know this is an older model (not plus), but given the reduced price, would you still advise going for it over the newer magnifica and eletta ones (this one is super pricy) Thank you!
Hi M, It's a good machine. I'd compare features, what's important to you and decide for yourself if the extra cost is worth it or you value the savings.
Thanks guys. My point is with the discount they are both the same price. The milk frother seems to have a dial on the dinamica and it seems to be more silent from the video. Magnifica definitely more modern looking and sleek.. Im not sure about the differences. It seems like on both you can tweak the ammount of water, strength and temperature? Having seen both machines, what do you guys think? Are they the same segment?
Hey iamlordhk, it depends - I prefer the look, user interface, and brewing technology (P.E.P.) on the ENA 8, but the milk system on the Dinamica. The Jura has smaller capacities and less pre-programmed drink options than the Delonghi, but I live in a small household and it features all of our favorites, so those things don't bother me much. All comes down to your usage and preferences. AJ
Thanks for the video! I just got one! Quick question, if I use the bypass for ground coffee, when I select a drink, will the machine automatically know or do I need to tell the machine that I am using ground coffee?
Hi Anthony, when using pre-ground, you'd hit the aroma/strength button until it displays an icon with a little scoop, indicating pre-ground. Once you select your drink, it'll then use the grinds you put into the bypass doser. AJ
Hi Marko, I haven't personally used the Philips 5000, but it appears to be nearly identical in looks and functionality to the Gaggia Anima Prestige, but the Gaggia machine is less expensive: www.wholelattelove.com/products/gaggia-anima-prestige-super-automatic-espresso-machine The Dinamica will give you more drink options, but the Anima Prestige will offer many of the same features at less cost. AJ
Lots of love expressed here for the Gaggia Cadorna Prestige which wasn't on my short list...but is now. Biggest concern is the maximum dose size of 10.5 grams. Coming from a Delonghi model with a maximum dose of 16 grams (and I always use the maximum dose) will I find the espresso from the Cadorna too weak for my taste? Anyone former Delonghi owners our there who have made the switch to Gaggia? Any thoughts?
Hi Claudia, if you find that to be the case, you can brew double shots on the Cadorna Prestige and it will grind/tamp/brew two full cycles. If you set the volume to the minimum and the strength to the maximum, you'll end up using 23g coffee for 2 total ounces, which is a higher dose than is generally used by professional baristas using commercial equipment. Hope this helps! AJ
I guess that makes perfect sense. I like to do 2 max shots - 2 x16 grams with with a 2 x 2 oz (60ml) pour . So I end up with a 4oz/120ml of espresso from 32 grams of coffee. With the Gaggia it would be 1 x double shot for 23 grams on 2oz of water + 1 x a single shot at say 10grams on 2oz of water for a total of 33grams in 4oz of espresso. So same thing in the end. Of course, with the Dinamica you can also do a double shot and program the water so it would be the same outcome with ONE press of the button instead of two. But I am not THAT lazy if the results are better. Also like the fact that the milk comes out hotter on the Gaggia - Mark's review said it was around 155 degrees vs 140 for the Delonhi. I steam my own now and its always in the 150-160 range. Also like your suggestion below that the iced feature on the Delonghi is really not much different then running an extra strong shot of espresso at low brew temp, which sounds like a good work-around. Hey one more question - any idea if the Gaggia does well with non-dairy milks? The Delonghi sells this point on the Lattecrema system specifically in its promotional material. I use almond milk to avoid dairy allergies. Almond milk - if you find the right brand - works amazingly well for manual frothing at least. Now, last question...promise. It is a fairly big jump in price from the Dinamica to the Cadorna. Is the coffee that much better to justify it?
Great video. What were your grind settings for this bean? My espresso extraction is looking thin and I"m currently at 1.5. Thanks! NVM: I heard you say "finest setting" at 5:23.
Hi Somayah, there's not a ton of difference between the two. Both have the lattecrema milk system and LED displays. The Eletta wins on build quality with metal components instead of being all plastic, and also has higher capacities in the bean hopper and water reservoir. Dinamica has more drinks options and is a newer model, plus the option of iced coffee. AJ
Great idea, especially with Father's Day coming up! Here's the machine shown in the video: www.wholelattelove.com/products/delonghi-dinamica-with-lattecrema-espresso-machine And here's a newer version with color touch screen, app control, and more: www.wholelattelove.com/products/delonghi-dinamica-plus-ecam37095ti-espresso-machine AJ
That depends on your preferences. La Specialista is less automatic than the Dinamica. With it, you'll need to grind, tamp, and brew manually rather than pushing a single button. You have more control over different parts of the process, which can help you dial into your perfect drink, as the cost of convenience that one-touch machines like the Dinamica award. Depending on which model of Specialista you're looking at, it could have a manual milk frothing wand, auto-frothing wand, or carafe, so you'll need to determine how you want to handle milk frothing. La Specialista Maestro includes both an auto-frothing carafe and manual frothing wand to give extra versatility: www.wholelattelove.com/products/delonghi-la-specialista-maestro-espresso-machine AJ
May I know what is the best volume and aroma setting for each drink to get the best flavour of the beans. How to know from the cup of espresso to see whether the machine extract perfect espresso as I do not know how to taste the perfect espresso. Able to get video on De’Longhi Dinamica plus review?
Hi Bryant. Tastes will be completely subjective. The perfect espresso for you will not be the perfect espresso for someone else. In general though, you're looking for a complimentary balance of sweetness, bitterness, and acidity. Some people prefer eathy, nutty, chocolatey flavor profiles, while others prefer light and fruity ones. Regardless of your beans or preferences, a good place to start on super-automatic machines is a 2oz/60ml shot of espresso, using the finest grind, highest strength/aroma and hottest temperature, and adjust from there based on taste. AJ
I bought one today in Australia and it doesn’t have as many buttons on the central Panel ? Old model at $1200 or different manufacturing ? Feeling ripped off. Thanks Delonghi !
Hi, I appreciate all of your videos. I am debating between this machine and the Gaggia Anima Prestige Espresso Machine. (iced coffee is not a must have for me. The front loading of milk water and coffee beans drew me to this machine vs top loading) I do make milk coffee drinks so this is key for me. Which product do you think is best overall? Thank you in advance
Hey jburgand, they're both good machines. Both feature the separate milk carafe, quick clean capabilities, and a number of other similarities. The Dinamica will give you more capacity in your bean hopper and more grind settings. One of the biggest difference is in the number of programmed drink specialties - the Dinamica comes with 18 while the Anima only has 6. That said, you'll pay for those extra features, as the Dinamica with LatteCrema is currently $400 more than the Anima Prestige. Comes down to personal preference, but if it's in your budget I like the versatility of the Dinamica. AJ
Hi, I am debating between the dinámica and dinámica plus. I am not sure if the extra $200 worth the app, the touch screen, and the double wall milk container. Which one would you recommend?
Hi Raul, I've used both pretty extensively and in my opinion the step up for the Plus is definitely worth it! While drinks will taste the same, the interface is much nicer, the app is probably the best coffee app I've used, and it's just all around a better user experience. AJ
Just purchased this machine, thanks for the video. I've been using a filter drip, I like a half cup at a time, so it stays hot, not as small as espresso, not a full cup. Without going high test on caffeine, what's the best way to do that? Thanks in advance!
Hi Pauline, it sounds like the lungo would be perfect for you (located in your drinks menu). For this machine's purposes it's kind of in the middle between a espresso and a cup of coffee. You can program the strength/aroma lower if you want less caffeine. AJ
Hey Ali, yes! According to Delonghi, you should only use cow's milk, soy, rice, or almond: www.delonghi.com/en-gb/faqs/Can-I-use-alternatives-to-cows-milk-with-Latte-Crema-system/a/11855 AJ
Hi ZM, Thanks for the question. Yes one can control/program the amount of milk delivered. The dial on the milk carafe allows one to adjust between frothed milk and milk that just heated without adding air.
There are some DeLonghi machine that you can program to turn on like before you wake up so you don't need to wait to warm up to get your first cup of coffee in the morning, I can't seem to find if this one does that? And if not, do you know if the Dinamica Plus does, or which other model does? Also, is it long to warm up and get that first cup of coffee?
Hey denisqcrs, this model can't be programmed to turn on at a set time, and I don't believe the Dinamica Plus can either. Luckily, unlike most semi-automatic machines, the super-automatic ones like this are very quick to heat up, generally only a minute or two until it is brew-ready. AJ
Hi snake, Thanks for the question. For espresso we typically start at the finest grind setting and back off if needed. Crema production is dependent to coffee type. Classic Italian style bean blends usually produce the most crema. Especially those with some Robusta beans in the mix.
Hi, I hope you're still answering questions. I currently have a semi-auto single boiler espresso machine and separate grinder (Vario-886). I primarily drink Long Black but when I want regular coffee I use the pour-over or French Press (my favorite) methods. Anyway, now that you know a little about me, I am looking at this machine because I'm over chasing that elusive, at least for me, perfect espresso. I am tired of wasting expensive coffee having to dial-in the grinder (I'm over 70 and have arthritic hands thus no hand grinder for me) again every time I change beans or brew methods. Also, I noticed this machine does cold-brew (which is really not true cold-brew but is iced coffee) on the fly which is what I drink almost exclusively in the summer. So would you recommend this machine for me?
Hi George, thanks for the comment and context. A superauto like the Dinamica will certainly make your life easier - no dialing in or wasting coffee, and less repetitive use strain on the body. That said, it is a little harder to experiment and tweak taste to your particular preferences. Many, many people love the espresso out of super-autos, but some who come from a semi-auto background find them limiting. If that's a trade-off you're willing to make, then it would be a great option! AJ
@@Wholelattelovepage, Hi AJ, thanks for getting back to me. A quick follow-up question for you: Can I use the Dinamica without the LatteCrema attachment? I don't make lots of milk drinks. Does it have a separate manual steam wand? Thanks again.
I brough this machine love the coffee. I make mostly lattes and I find the milk to be luke warm. How to realy get hot milk from the machine rather than having to heat it again
We just bought this machine after our first De’Longhi Magnifica broke down after 12+years. Your video was very helpful!
Hi d, Happy to help!
Thanks for this great video. One question! How do you flush hot water through the coffee spouts to clean it after it has made coffees? Thanks.
Best purchase ever! I was not a coffee drinker until after i bought this. My favorite is the flat white and latte macchiato. I either sprinkle some sugar on top or add some sugar free syrup before brewing. Easy clean up. So happy with this product.
Glad you're loving the machine! Thanks for sharing your experience ☕️

Great video! Two questions:
Can you froth milk on it's own without making a drink?
I know the other section is for pre-ground coffee, but could you put pre-ground tea in there?
Hi LP, Thanks for the comment and questions. Yes, you can create milk froth only. Pre-ground tea in the coffee bypass doser is not something we've tried. It's outside of prescribe use for the doser so cannot recommend. Best is to use machine's hot water only function for making tea.
Just found you guys while learning about automatic espresso machines. You guys have the best reviews out there. Excellent work and content!
Welcome aboard!
Tips I've learned (Mostly from Mr. JAMES HOFFMAN, thank you!) and tested to acquire the best espresso (so far):
1. Only dry beans (oily beans clog the espresso machine)
2. No dark roasted beans (they are burnt; usually to hide imperfections)
3. The best taste occurs between 4-14 days from the time they are roasted (this is "resting the coffee" because the beans have to off-gas CO2)
4. To avoid watery espresso, dial a low grind/fine size (1,2,3,4) and fresh beans (before 1 month of roast date), this produces a thicker espresso
5. Lowest grind setting for DeLonghi Dinamica Plus machine is at a "3" (because any lower/finer chokes the machine)
Thus, my optimal espresso Latte configuration is:
-Five beans 🫘 (strongest intensity),
- small ☕️ or medium size ☕️☕️ cup,
-with dry medium-roasted beans, that were
-roasted about 1-2 weeks ago
-Vanilla Syrup (2 pumps or 1 table spoon for every small shot of espresso)
-Half & Half Cream
*pour cream until espresso resembles golden camphor burl wood
all the fuss about the beans to put SYRUP in and industrial milkmix?!
Here's a recording of a live stream we did featuring the Classic Pro, part of what we consider the best value entry level home espresso machine and grinder combo: th-cam.com/video/jzvi36qbfhY/w-d-xo.html

@@Wholelattelovepage Thank you so much! I’ll check it out!
Great video AJ. You profiled this DeLonghi machine excellent. Thank you.
Hi Jaime, thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed the video!
AJ
How do you clean the coffee grinder? Is that necessary?
Hey Turek, thanks for sharing your experience. Glad you're happy with your Dinamica!

how hot does the coffee get
I don’t recommend the Plus as it only has a single thermoblock system, so cold drinks when milk is added

Is it possible to make a decaf milk/latte drink using the grind bypass?
Great video. Do you know if any of the internals that are plastic come into contact with the hot liquid?
Hi i, yes in all machines like this there are internal plastic components which come in contact with hot liquids. All are certified as safe for this use.
Thank you so much for a detailed review. I really like the way you did the review and the process of it all.
You are so welcome!
Great video thank you. i was given this machine for christmas and hate reading instruction manuals, video guidance is so much better.

What are thé différence between thé delonghi 3555 and 3575?
Hi,
How can make extra hot coffee with this machine?
Thank you
Is there an opportunity to mix the espresso with syrup before the milk?
Hi JS, Adding syrup to milk prior to frothing is not recommended. Best to stir in after milk is frothed.
Is there an attachment option for a steam wand to heat milk up automatically?
Not that I'm aware of.
Automatically saved this video, just like the machine. 😊
Haha nice!

Hi, great helpful video. How do I increase the temp, I like it quite hot? Plus,
I put beans in the ground coffee hopper, by mistake, removed I think all from the tray, though I’m hearing a sound when making my coffee (have used the bean hopper now) as though a bean is flying around in the machine - damage/removal?
Hi b, I recpommend setting the grin der to the finest grind setting and strength to max.
Does this machine get the milk temperature decent or not too hot?
Could we use half and half instead of milk as we follow a Keto diet, no milk but can have pouring cream

Hey AA, here's the SKU for machine in video: DEECAM35075SI
No manual frothing capabilities.
Is there a place to add sugar ?
No place to add sugar.
Hi where does the already brewed coffee go? Is there something inside the machine to collect it?
Hi ar, Yes, used coffee pucks are collected in a drawer inside the machine.

@@Wholelattelovepage Hi AJ can that machine make 2 cups of coffee at the same time we are thinking of buying one cheers
I had a question can it make 20cups in a day for a small cafeteria?
Hi BO, Yes 20 cups/day is reasonable with this machine.
those pours look amazing, I think i might have to get one - have a keurig for convenience and a breville which is more work but good pours. this looks like they put the best of the two together in one machine IM SOLD!

will this work fine with other types of milks, like oat or almond?
When making milk drinks like a Flat white or Cafe au Lait does the Dinamica do the espresso first and the milk froth second or visa-versa?
Hi, great video. Loved the dopio plus shot can we use it for americano as well ? Saw a my double espresso plus in your machine, how to do it? So Yum 😊😊
Is there an option to buy a second milk carafe? We're a two types of milk household: soy and oats. It'd be so convenient to have two carafes to change out
Hello, great idea. Unfortunately, we do not sell separate carafes for the Dinamica. You should be able to get one directly from Delonghi if you contact them.
AJ
Can you change your settings in the my cup options I have made the my cappuccino but not sure how I can change it
What is the main differences between this one and the plus? I know the app is one; however i have not seen good things said about the app. Is the plus worth the $400 difference in prices?
Can you use non-dairy cream with this machine?
AJ
I add mine before brewing.
Hi, quick question i know you said the spout is adjustable for the shots but for the milk what is the max size cup that can be used?
it seems like the 16 oz one is the highest it can go is that correct or is that milk spout also adjustable? thank you in advance if you see this comment & respond
Hi Grace, Maximum cup height is 5.5 inches under both coffee and milk spouts.

Thank you so much for your reply, it was very helpful.

Hi MG, Are you sure the machine totally completed the descaling cycle when you ran it? If the descaling was interrupted or not completed the machine will alert to descale again.

AJ
I can’t find dinamica with all those options only ones with two rows they don’t have the iced coffee option etc?
Yes out of stock at this time
I just got the machine but my milk isn't hot enough , what should i do?

@@Wholelattelovepage Thanks so much - great feedback
I thought the Dinaminca Plus has the option of ice coffee ?
I can say I prefer the Gaggia Cadorna Prestige.
is this machine still working? service? cleaning? whats changed, whats new
Yes . Nothing new
@@Wholelattelovepage thank you, i ordered dinamica 350.55
Great video. What is the dosing at level and and then what is it when the double is pressed? Thanks for all the great videos
Hi David, I'm not sure the exact gram dosage as DeLonghi doesn't list this info. Based on looking at the spent pucks, it appears to be on par with most other super-automatic manufacturers.
AJ
Do you know what the coffee dose range is for the dinamica? Like 5-10g of grounds per shot?
Hi BC, That range is about right.
Hi I have just purchased the dhlonghi Dinamica Plus and it tried the flat white. The coffee is Luke warm. Is there anything I am doing wrong? Or would I need to customise anything? Any tips would be really helpful.
You only have a single thermoblock in the Plus, and this machine has dual thermoblocks (two)
What are your views on this & the Gaggia Cadorna Prestige? Besides being able to adjust the milk froth. Any opinions on which makes the better cup & is easier to use & maintain? Thanks
Hey 4wolverines,
Love the Cadorna Prestige.

@@Wholelattelovepage what’s the temp like when in cup? 👍🏻
Is there a version of this model that has a larger milk reservoir?
Thanks in advance.
AJ
Are the coffee beans espresso beans? And what if you wanted reg coffee, do you still use the same beans for both type of coffees.
Hi Sanda, despite common misconception, there is actually no such thing as "espresso beans." Certain coffee beans are grown and roasted to be more suitable for espresso, but you can use the same type of bean for both espresso and regular coffee. The difference is simply brewing style.
AJ
How to clean this machine?
Hi m, That's a big broad question - cleaning procedures are outlined in the product manual.
How can have very strong coffee in this machine?
Hi el, Set your grind to fine with strength and temperature set to max. Then make volume of drink appropriate. Double up brew cycles with lower volumes to make a single larger drink if needed.
Hey! Is it possible or what is the best way to make hot chocolate in it?
Hi Linda, I would make plain milk froth and add chocolate. Could add before or after frothing then stir to mix. Best not to add chocolate withing the milk carafe prior to frothing.
I sell a lot of coffee machines. I often see returns of Delonghi product due to faulty manufacturing. I haven’t used them myself but customers used to come in asking about why their machine quit. Usually an unnecessary censor went out or something.
Hi tvm, Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the learning experience!
I am researching and was almsot decided on the new magnifica evo when I saw this model on discount this week in Australia. They come at the same price!
I know this is an older model (not plus), but given the reduced price, would you still advise going for it over the newer magnifica and eletta ones (this one is super pricy)
Thank you!
Thanks for the vid AJ.
I am torn between this machine and the Jura Ena 8.
Which do you think is better?
AJ
@@Wholelattelovepage Last question. If I adjust the heat on the settings will that also increase the heat of my milk when I use the LatteCrema System?
Should I go with new Dinamica this in video or Philips 5000 series with LatteGo ?
Hi Marko, I haven't personally used the Philips 5000, but it appears to be nearly identical in looks and functionality to the Gaggia Anima Prestige, but the Gaggia machine is less expensive: www.wholelattelove.com/products/gaggia-anima-prestige-super-automatic-espresso-machine
The Dinamica will give you more drink options, but the Anima Prestige will offer many of the same features at less cost.
Thanks for your great demonestration, I have a quetion; what is the difference between this machine and delongi eletta?
Hi Somayah, there's not a ton of difference between the two. Both have the lattecrema milk system and LED displays. The Eletta wins on build quality with metal components instead of being all plastic, and also has higher capacities in the bean hopper and water reservoir. Dinamica has more drinks options and is a newer model, plus the option of iced coffee.
AJ
I’ll need to buy one! My dad would love it!
Great idea, especially with Father's Day coming up!

AJ
Which one is better between the Dinamica and La Specialista?
That depends on your preferences. La Specialista is less automatic than the Dinamica. With it, you'll need to grind, tamp, and brew manually rather than pushing a single button. You have more control over different parts of the process, which can help you dial into your perfect drink, as the cost of convenience that one-touch machines like the Dinamica award.
Depending on which model of Specialista you're looking at, it could have a manual milk frothing wand, auto-frothing wand, or carafe, so you'll need to determine how you want to handle milk frothing. La Specialista Maestro includes both an auto-frothing carafe and manual frothing wand to give extra versatility: www.wholelattelove.com/products/delonghi-la-specialista-maestro-espresso-machine

I bought one today in Australia and it doesn’t have as many buttons on the central

I am debating of whether to get this one or Philps 5400. is it really worth to spend $200-$300 more to get this one?
If you prefer a more hot of a drink, then yes
Hi, thanks for the video. I have the 350.55.b. Is it possible to make 2 coffee at once?
Yes, use the 2x function while preparing an espresso lungo at the max volume. This should give you 2 6oz (180ml) coffees.
AJ
AJ
can you use nut milks, such as almond milk, in this machine?
Hey Ali, yes! According to Delonghi, you should only use cow's milk, soy, rice, or almond: www.delonghi.com/en-gb/faqs/Can-I-use-alternatives-to-cows-milk-with-Latte-Crema-system/a/11855

Hello, is it possible to set a standard coffee with milk (not whipped) at the coffee machine and at the same time set the amount of milk?
Hi ZM, Thanks for the question. Yes one can control/program the amount of milk delivered. The dial on the milk carafe allows one to adjust between frothed milk and milk that just heated without adding air.
Which is better this or the gaggia Cadorna?
Hi Elena, both solid machines and it depends on your usage. I personally prefer the Cadorna Prestige.
AJ
Cool beans! I want one!!!

No wifi on this, but the updated DInamica Plus model can use bluetooth connected to an app. Not sure about Siri capability though.

Great video! And I have a question, what is your grind Settings? My espresso only have little Crema.

Pre-heating your cups with hot water will go a long way to making your overall drink hotter. Also using the hottest brewing temperature.
