    Grove bags are nice because they do what supposed to, relatively cheap, can be forgotten about (as long as being stored in proper environment), reusable. My favorite part tho, they dont take up a lot of space when not being utilized.

    I'm starting a new grow next week and I have a ton of govee temp/humidity sensors that I use in my grove bags to keep track when they are curing. I'm doing 4 autos and splitting 2 genetics between them so I'll bag one of each with a boveda and one without and come back with the results. Personally, I think if you seal the bags at the right humidity it's not going to make a difference if you use a boveda but experimentation is always fun.

    I had been burping. Then on my last run I had a really good smelling plant and once it was dried I put it in the jar and I popped it once and it smelled really nice still. So I decided just to leave that one and stop burping it. I think that it actually helped maintain the terps better. I just made sure the jar never went above 64% humidity.

    Great info. We appreciate the honest opinion. It's all about personal preference.
    Quick question to those that prefer the GroveBags; Do you feel the bag regulates humidity, meaning it brings it up or lowers it down to hit the 62%? Or does it just maintain humidity?

    • @chood6618
      @chood6618 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To answer your question I've been using Grove bags or a year now and the buds are 62% when I put them in and I've noticed as they are carrying the humidity will go off as high as 66% sometimes so it definitely slows down the curing and the off-gassing for sure but if you put them in at 65.66% I've seen them increase to above 70% and even had some mold

    • @chood6618
      @chood6618 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @kenmauge8032

      The company suggests you put your product in paper bags for one or two days before putting in grove bags. It sweats the flower drawing inner moister to the outside of the bud. Then you leave the bags open for a few hours. Then check with a wood moisture meter if you have one till it says 12 percent. Before going into the grove bags. The meter part is optional. Then you put a little hydrometer in the bag ,and close it up. Check the hydrometer the next day. If your humidity has maintained close it up ,and your stuff will maintain itself.

    This last run I went a different route with drying and curing. I dried in 70 degrees and 65-67% humidity for 7days. When I trimmed to put in jars the buds were super sticky but the buds were spongey like when you squeeze the bud it returned back to normal form. When I put in jars the hygrometer read 65-69% humidity. When I burped I left lids open for 30mins to an hour accidentally a couple times. 2 times a day for a few days then just 1 burp a day for 30 mins. I have tons of flavor and I love how sticky the flowers are. I think in the past I have over dried for 10 days and it lost the sticky feel and had no flavor or terrible flavor. I use to go off of little branches snapping to tell when to put in jars but I strongly disagree with that method these days. Just saying I think it's not a bad idea to stay in the mid 60s when drying and curing as opposed to 58-62% which probably isn't bad either but I think u risk over drying if you try to go off of little branches on your plant snapping just my 2 cents sorry for the long comment.

      @@grassandglobs yea man np. I think alot of the info we are fed is just bro science and not set in stone. Imo it's always better to not dry enough than to over dry and not get your terps back. You can always burp your jars and let air get to your flowers to help dry more. My temps in my house are 72 degrees and around 55-60 % humidity too I think that has some things to do with curing as well when you burp your jars. You want ur house temp to be somewhat near your drying temps and humidity too imo.

    • @ExtraOrdinaryEarth_
      @ExtraOrdinaryEarth_ ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I agree. I also find that my buds are ready before the stems are snapping. I've over dried harvests in the past due to waiting until the stems snap.

    one of those who swear by Grove bags. They can be reused. They are good for terpene retention and they’re good for max shelf life. You don’t have to burp them although i do. I just like to make sure everything is good. i don’t even heat seal them i jus seal them normally and they still help with my buds looking smelling and raining all the terpenes and trichomes be jus popping! Love grove bags. never will use Jars.

    I just went ahead and paid for a Cannatrol and it blows all these methods away. After I got it all dialed in, there's no denying it. I had some buds in there for 8 months and they were "mummified" (for lack of a better description). When you crack them open, they explode with aroma. I'd almost compare it to aging a fine whiskey in a barrel for years. l'll use this thing until it wears out and is junk.

    NEVER use those humidity packs till your done curing and are storing its a good way to promote mold if your packs are full of water and cant take no more moisture and its sealed cuz you threw your buds in there too early

    • @420scene
      @420scene  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve never ever gotten mold using the humidity packs after drying. Lol.

    • @jameswilliford5478
      @jameswilliford5478 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are two way humidity packs, and if you're using them at the correct size and leaving the air space they recommend you're not going to have a problem.

    • @uPimppi
      @uPimppi ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah exactly "after drying" aka into the curing process throw them in there when they are still a little too fresh and not ready for jars n see@@420scene

    • @uPimppi
      @uPimppi ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah i understand its 2 way but they were fresh packs and stuff was basically still wet so it was on me the first time i used them i thought they were some magic bag you throw in and it will magically cure for you threw them in too fresh basically still wet and needless to say lost the whole harvest
      so i dont like to use the pacs till i hit the humidity i want to keep then ill throw them in there @@jameswilliford5478

    Screw the mason jars, screw the Grove bags and c vaults. Go get you some military ammo boxes. You got different sizes, air tight, waterproof and virtually indestructible

    As far as humidity packs build a soil had said something that sticks with me. As far as your terpenes if you have very very good genetics it doesn't matter what you do it's still going to be loud and that was the Gorilla Glue he was talking about in that same vein I'm going to say genetics genetics genetics

    For those who are a little skeptical about the grove bags and I filled up a 1/4 of a pound bag and I set a small hygrometer inside. I heat seal the bag and let it cure for two months and I noticed that it stayed at 62% the whole time

    Does anyone find that dispo weed and a lot of weed on the market is over dried/very hard nugs? I was excited to show some friends I hadn't seen in a while my home grown and someone was worried it was still wet/too wet and didn't want to smoke it. I dried in 60/60 for ~10 days until the stems were snappable and then cured in grove bags for 4 weeks and moved them to a jar. Humidity sensor had the bag and jar showing high 50%s the entire time. The weed breaks up fine and the bowl will stay lit the entire time after the first good light. I've been smoking it for a month with no harshness or any lung issues. I think it's fine..
