I heard Annette is a Peranakan-Chinese. Actually, if don't hear her speak, Annette Lee's face looks like a China-Chinese or PRC. Another example of a Singapore-born Peranakan-Chinese whose face looks like a PRC is Ivan Heng. Although Ivan Heng is a Peranakan but Ivan Heng's face really really looks like a China-Chinese or PRC.
