  • @silvermoonuk
    @silvermoonuk วันที่ผ่านมา +3

    They say they put money in social services. But sadly, most disabled or vulnerable adults don't receive adequate support from their council still. I'm a disabled, young adult. I tried to get a care package from my local authority and it was rubbish. And you still have to pay loads of council tax towards your care services. Then on top of your council taxes, social services ask for a cofunding contribution fee from your income. But you get nothing in return your social services, sadly, as a disabled person. I need homecare and community support 7 days a week from a carer but my local authority only wanted to give me a few hours a week for homecare support. So, as you can imagine, most of the time, I was left neglected and isolated in my home and the community as a disabled person. So I don't know where they put the money in the social care sector as most disabled people I talk to don't get that much from their councils.

    Am lucky have a council property,.had visit from council too check and they decided the bathroom fan needing replacing after 8 different electricians and promises they would becoming too do the job. They never did that took almost a year of waiting. The bulb went in bathroom the electrician that day done both jobs even tho is wasn't on the list that day. And after many many many complaints.
    The issue is over the UK council are scamming they set own companies gas and electric companies and using profits from call outs etc for self profit.
    This didn't happen it was completely separate. Then they saw it was a money maker and I have noticed many council do the same.
    Again it's a crime too have a normal council job and own a company that taking tax payees money 💰

    Wrong Wrong Wrong. What age related spending? I want to see the real figures here.
    How many pensioners actually need or use a "care worker". Most are fully independent
    because they have no need, or those services are not even available.
    How much is spent on housing immigrants and asylum seekers?
    If a council declares bankruptcy all of those concerned should be sacked, surely.
    Making them immune to punishment for mishandling our tax is ridiculous.
    Just refunding only green lights their further corruption and misspending.

      I don’t think that’s achievable really. I do agree with the sentiment though but Care ain’t cheap and carers don’t work for free. Rightly so as well. It’s good to remember that we will all get old at some point. In some cases it can cost thousands of pounds a week. You also have to remember, that a lot of the generation who are relying on care now, did not have the luxury of work placed pensions. Some elderly females lived in a time when working was just not expected. They basically have zero savings. Despite what is said regularly on TV , not all pensioners are sitting on mountains of cash.

    • @gusleonard9397

      @ I do agree with your point about elderly women who I do think because of historical circumstances are likely disadvantaged. However, if you are a male baby boomer there is no excuse, houses were cheap relative to income. Their wages were not getting debased like ours do now, they had ample discretionary income. The boomers have already run up huge government debts to pay for all their benefits and want us to pay for it. They tell everyone else they need to tighten their belts. I’m sorry but I have 0 sympathy for baby boomer males who had the world at their feet and their greed have ruined it for the millennials and gen z.
