Thank you everyone for your comments! Please read the description for up to date information on restaurants mentioned. Such as, Kevin Barry's sadly closing down. :(
When I was there a few years ago the sea food was amazing I forgot the name of the restaurant but it was on the Riverwalk, can't wait to go back to Savannah, Savannah is definitely the most beautiful city in America
Hi what a great video! I’m a manager of a gift shop on riverstreet, in downtown Savannah. American Gift Shop 205 W. Riverstreet. I just want to thank you for spreading the info and thank you so much for spreading a positive light on our city. I’m Born and raised. Thanks for the great videos!
Surprised you did not mention Elizabeth on 37th. I live in California currently but am planning on retiring out that way somewhere. Elizabeth on 37th is one of the best dining experiences we have had ANYWHERE. It was a stunning experience. Food was exceptional.
Of course we all have our personal favorites. But your picks are concentrated in the tourist areas of Savannah and miss what many would consider much better options. Here are my favorites (in alphabetical order): Alligator Soul, Chive, Collins Quarter, Local 11Ten, North Beach Bar & Grill (Tybee Island), The Vault, The Wyld, Zunzie's
Great video. We make a trip up from Florida at least once a year. Will have to check out some of these that I haven’t tried yet. Hope to move there one day😁 we love Trailer Park and Hitch 😋
Best burger is Savannah is Green Truck. I literally lol’ed when she said B&D. Kevin Barry’s is closed. River Street Sweets is the better of the 2 she names. Best seafood restaurant on tybee is Bubba Gumbo’s or Sundae Cafe. Things she got right: Pink house, Lulu’s, and Hucapoo’s.
1. Best Burgers is Betty Bombers 2. Kevin Is closed 3. I'll give you River House 4. Good pick on pub 5. The Wyld is better for a romantic dinner 6. Good pick on River Street sweets 7. Good pick on Lulu 8. Good pick on Coco's 9. If I have to party on Tybee, I guess Huc-a-pooh is ok.
Thank you for the extra recommendations! My viewers appreciate it! We weren’t really “partying” at Huc-A-Poo’s. We were there right after the beach at like noon on a Saturday. Definitely a bit quieter and relaxed that time of day! What would you recommend to my viewers for a good Tybee Island night life spot?
Hello Tracy or Tracie? I watched your video, " The 9 best places to eat in Savannah, Georgia! " and found it very informative. I have been in Savannah several times. I have a friend there and it is a 2 hour drive for me being that I live in Jacksonville. I was very pleased to find out that you did not mention "Lady and Sons". So many people gravitate there because of popularities from the media. Well, I'll say it........."Don't go there, the only thing that is somewhat good is the fried chicken and the ice water and the salads are ok." I was always wanting to know where to enjoy good seafood on the river. So many places to choose from, hard to make a decision . I will try River House Seafood. Totally agree with The Old Pink House being in your video. I have been there 5 times and they are flawless in all departments . A lot of people aren't aware of this place, nice of you to point it out. The cellar is where I want to be when going there. There is a secret way to get in there for dinner. As you face the front of the house, there is a street corner immediately to the left. Be there at 4:45 pm and someone will come out the front door with a clipboard to take names for seating. It is good to be there 4:15 pm, that way you have somewhat of a choice to where you would like to be seated. I will be trying B & D burgers, love a well put together burger. I have been to Co Co's in Tybee. Totally agree......hard to find but once you do find it, you will be back. AJ's is widely spoken of but went there and was very disappointed to find out that cook from frozen. Have not been to Lulu's chocolate bar but will try. I was surprised you didn't mention Corleone's Italian Restaurant. It is next door to Lulu"s, great place.
Thank you so much and for the tips! We’ll have to try Corleone’s next time we’re in town! I later regretted not adding in more categories, but these were our top favorites when we lived there. There is so much amazing food in Savannah to choose from!
Yes, I am aware. I wasn’t when I made this video over a year ago and it was open the year we lived there. So sad it’s closed. When I realized it was closed I added a statement about it in the description. Thank you!
I’ve only ever been at dinner, nice ambience by candlelight. Definitely adds to the spookier haunted feel. But, as it’s in doors, I’m sure you’d still get the same feel during the day.
Thanks for a good video and list. I'll have to try the lobster and crab bisque one day when this covid mess is over. It sounds awesome. Some of our favorites are Sandfly bbq in the Streamliner on Barnard. Olympia Greek on River Street, Pirates house buffet, and Vinnie Van Go Go's for pizza in City Market. These are just a few favorites. So many good places in Savannah.
I know a lot of Tybee locals and none I met will tell you Coco's is the place to eat. They got a great view but that's it. Right around the corner from Coco's is Bubba Gumbo's,great place! Another great place is A-J's which has great views on the deck. We all see things different but Coco's is a place I would tell friends not to go to..
@@jimmylivingston6338 uh, I'll have to disagree with you on that one. Betty's is good but doesn't hold a candle to hand formed patty and house cut fries. Let alone house made ketchup and a tap list that is amazing.
B&D is just our personal favorite! And, I seriously haven’t found a turkey burger anywhere else that matches theirs! We live in Atlanta now and I’ve tried many and haven’t found it’s match! Everyone has their preferences! Thanks for the recommendation! My viewers appreciate it. 😊
Born and raised Savannah native here.... tip number 1, get out of down town.... Southside has everything you want. BEST seafood Crab Shack on Chimney Creek, Tybee Island
Ok. I apologize. Once I saw Kevin berrys pub I had to comment. I see you included the olde pink house. Also I 100% agree with Lulus chocolate bar although it is always sooooo packed we have not gone there lately like we used to. Is there really a good food place on tybee island???? Best roof top bar “peri grin on top of Perry lane hotel, bohemian hotel rooftop and sorry Charlie’s roof top”
A say don’t go there go to Texas Roadhouse or Logan’s and then if u want to go downtown the have chart house, fiddlers and this is a place on the south side it should be called Tony’s but it’s expensive
Oh, have fun! December should be a beautiful time to visit with the Christmas lights up! Make sure to check the weather report as it could be comfortable weather or cold in December.
I loved Savannah with all its rich history, great shops, and restaurants,, However Moon River was not a favorite . Our burgers were burnt to a crisp and the Mac n cheese was dried out. Too many other great restaurants to choose from there.
What??? 1. Barnes 2. The Pirate House 3. Bella's Italian Restaurant 4. Leopold's for ice cream 5. Corleone's on Broughton 6. The Grove 7. The real, real locals favorite is Jackies Seafood Market on Waters and Montgomery Crossroad. You select the seafood and they cook it. No indoor seating. Order it and go. But I guarantee you may not make it out of the parking lot. My daughter and I moved here nine years ago and we still haven't hit all the spots. Just too much good freaking food!😛
Everyone has their favorites! Thanks for sharing yours! 😊 I also have the extremely unpopular opinion that I don’t like Leopold’s! Don’t hate me. 😉 I think it may be because I heard so much about it, that my expectations were really high. And, we had to stand in a crazy long line and when I finally got my ice cream, it was just kind of okay. Like I said, unpopular!
Also, as I said in the description, we just didn't love the food at The Pirate House. I feel like it's a must visit for the history, but we tried it more than once and the food was just blah for us. But, once again, everyone's tastes are different.
Ooh, that’s a a great question! If you want it to be a bit more private, I would do it on the east end of the river walk in Morrel Park next to the Waving Girl statue. If you’d like an audience, you could do it right in the center perhaps in front of the River Boat when it’s docked. If your there this summer, you could check the fireworks schedule, they had fireworks every Friday night when we lived there, and propose during the fireworks display.
I'm also crazy for Mrs. Wilkes' Boarding House food. I met Mrs. Wilkes' there in my 20's, and I believe her grandson still runs it with the same incredible food! Obama ate there too.
I know you'll burn me at the stake, but I actually really don't like Leopolds. I thought it was highly overrated. Especially, for the long line you have to stand in to get it in the first place. But, again, these are our favorites from when we lived in Savannah in 2014. But, I appreciate your feedback and suggestions! Everyone's tastes are different.
Everyone's list of favorites will be different! These were just our personal favorites that we revisited over and over again during the year we lived there. Thank you for the recommendations for my viewers! :)
Sorry, but you totally ignored Mrs. Wilke's Boarding House for such great Southern traditional food. When President Obama visited Savannah, the mayor made sure to take Obama to Mrs. Wilke's! Enough said for an endorsement!
As I said, everyone has their own preferences!! But, I will say that at on our last visit to Savannah this past April and we went to B&D, it wasn't as good as it usually is. So, I wonder if they have gone downhill some. I sincerely hope it was just a fluke though!! When we lived there in 2015 it was amazing though and literally was our favorite restaurant. :)
Thank you everyone for your comments! Please read the description for up to date information on restaurants mentioned. Such as, Kevin Barry's sadly closing down. :(
The Old Pink House is a great restaurant. After dinner go to the basement bar. Supposedly has a boast or too
When I was there a few years ago the sea food was amazing I forgot the name of the restaurant but it was on the Riverwalk, can't wait to go back to Savannah, Savannah is definitely the most beautiful city in America

Coco's is wonderful, but Bubba Gumbo's is better. Hucs is awesome for Nacho's and Pizza
Wife and I were there a week ago. We liked Huey's and Alligator Soul.
Thank you for the recommendations! 😊

We love The old Pink house! Also we love Bella Napoli!
I’m going next week thank you for the tips! Great video
Huyes on the river , is my favorite
I would add The Little Duck Diner on Julian Street for wonderful lunches, The Lady and Sons on Congress Street for family style dinner.
Great video. We make a trip up from Florida at least once a year. Will have to check out some of these that I haven’t tried yet. Hope to move there one day😁 we love Trailer Park and Hitch 😋

I went to Savannah 10 years ago and had the best time of my life (and good). It was the first time I had dirty rice❤️
The old pink house is great. Eat down stairs
Yes! I’ve heard you can even eat in the old vault!
Olde Pink House is good but way over priced. Better place is the French Gastro Pub, Circa 1875

The ladies and Sons of course but make reservations
