It isn't Christmas in my house until Hans Gruber is THROWN out of the Nakatomi Building. 😎 🎄 Fun Fact: Alan Rickman nearly passed up the role of Hans Gruber, which ended up being his first film role. He had only arrived in Hollywood two days earlier and was appalled by the idea of his first role being the villain in an action film. To a degree, Rickman was right to be concerned considering his performance as Hans Gruber was so hailed that the actor had to struggle being typecast as a player of villains for much of his career. First Face-Off Fact: The scene in which Gruber and McClane meet fir the first time was inserted into the script after Alan Rickman (Hans Gruber) was found to be proficient at mimicking American accents. The filmmakers had been looking for a way to have the two characters meet prior to the climax and capitalized on Rickman's talent. Making Lemonade Fact: The scene where McClane falls down a shaft was a mistake by the stuntman, who was supposed to grab the first vent, as it originally was planned. He slipped and continued to fall, but the shot was used anyway; it was edited together with one where McClane grabs the next vent down as he falls.
shoot out the window to alert the cop?! He's on the 32nd floor of the building. that's about 210 meters. When I was younger, I worked construction on a 14 story building. Once you get above 8 floors, you can barely communicate AT ALL with the ground floor. Hammering, pounding, power saws and power tools are completely inaudible at that altitude. This is TWICE that height. SO, John couldnt yell or shoot at the cop, until he breaks that window, WHICH is usually rated at a 70-90 mile/hr wind strength. . Those windows are thick, heavy and TOUGH. Additionally, if he started to break the window when the cop arrived, he wouldnt finish breaking the window before the cop got outta the car. He's waiting because he's HOPING and he's SMART: if the cop figures out there's trouble, John wont have to endanger himself by revealing his position. Once he realizes the cop got fooled only THEN is it the smart thing to try ANYTHING to get his attention.
Diehard is 100% a Christmas movie! Its set at Christmas! It has Christmas music. Its about a Christmas party. How is it not a Christmas movie? Easily the BEST Christmas movie ever made!
@@ACab05050 not to mention that Home alone is so much more un-neccissary brutal... did you hear the rumor, that it´s Kevin who grew up and became the "Jigsaw killer" from saw ?
This movie is on the list of Christmas movies my wife and I watch each year during the holidays. Along with Elf and Nightmare Before Christmas and a few others.
Definitely a Christmas movie. Didn't you see all the snow at the end, coming down from the building? And the Christmas music? And the big Christmas presents in the Vault!! One of the best Christmas movies ever!
For decades, It's a Wonderful Life was THE Christmas movie. It's very old, but stands up very well. Then again, these days, I always say, "It's not Christmas until Hans falls from Nakatomi Tower." haha
It's a Christmas movie because it takes place at a Christmas party on Christmas Eve, but also because the movie is about someone miraculously overcoming impossible odds to save the day and good triumphing in the end. It's the kind of hopeful theme that fits right in with the Christmas season.
You asked how Karl was still alive at the end. Easy. John wrapped that chain around Karl's neck and hung him from the ceiling right below the roof that blew up. When the roof blew up, it also destroyed that ceiling so Karl fell to the floor. Why didn't the chain around his neck kill him? When you hang somebody, the two ways they might die are from a broken neck or from suffocation. Breaking the neck means the person needs to fall at least a meter or so. Karl did not fall so his neck did not break. Suffocation takes about 4-5 minutes to kill a person. Karl was only hanging for about a minute, maybe a little more, so he didn't suffocate. It took him a bit to wake up and make his way down. You saw the result.
Growing up in the 70s I cannot think of any Christmas movies I grew up with. They were mostly animated TV movies like Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas (muppets), etc.
Both were made long before I was born, but "A Christmas Story", and "Miracle on 34th Street" were always on TV at my house during Christmas. "A Charlie Brown Christmas" (cartoon) was another 1.
Growing up the Christmas type film was "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and once I got a little older it was "Christmas Vacation." You NEED to see "Lethal Weapon" as that too takes place at Christmas. Lethal Weapon 2 is awesome as well. 3 and 4 are pretty good too.
#1 the intention...director John McTiernan and writer Steven De Souza have confirmed that Die Hard is a Christmas movie (but there's more) the Christmas theme and motif are central to the film The basic narrative situation of Die Hard is a man traveling long-distance to spend the Christmas holiday with his estranged wife and their children. It's set at an office party on Christmas Eve The chief villain Hans Gruber explicitly invokes the Christmas spirit: “It’s Christmas, Theo, it’s a time for miracles.” As the vault door opens and the crescendoing chords of "Ode to Joy" boom over the soundtrack, Theo has the expression of a kid coming downstairs to see piles and piles of presents. "Merry Christmas," he whispers in awe. Merry Christmas, indeed "Die Hard" is chock full of Christmas songs. Both the opening and closing credits, in fact, feature "Winter Wonderland" and "Let it Snow," there's Beethoven's "Ode to Joy,"and let's not forget Run-D.M.C.'s 1987 single "Christmas in Hollis." played by limousine driver Argyle when picking up John from the airport. We have a story where one man is after pure material gain, using once-sincere beliefs as a disguise to get what he wants, while another man opposes him, fighting for his family and his principles and it all takes place on Christmas Eve. That sure sounds like a Christmas movie to me. Love, sacrifice, family, friendship, good conquering evil, and reconciliation His wife is called Holly Hans is the Grinch Argyle (as in socks) hangs out (like a stocking) There is an invocation of Jesus Christ, Mary, & Joseph Another big recurring theme of Christmas movies is a lack of faith and at first no one believes. Even John begins to lose hope but perseveres to the end "Season's Greetings" packing tape inspiration used to tape hand gun to John McClane's back Santa Claus makes an appearance Ho-Ho-Ho (even if it's in the form of a dead terrorist). See, "Die Hard" is a Christmas movie! 😉🎄🎅🦌✨
The only reason the two main characters, John McClane and Hans Gruber are in the building is because it's Christmas. John is there hoping the Christmas spirit of family will help him reconcile with his estranged wife. Hans is there to get rich by taking the Christmas party hostage. One represents traditional Christmas family values, the other the corrupted materialistic side of Christmas. And it ends with the former winning, and spending Christmas with his family. This movie is 100% a Christmas movie. It's unusual for a Christmas movie to also be an action movie, but the two are not mutually exclusive.
"Die Hard" has just enough Christmas in it and has been around long enough to have become a Christmas movie. That said, I have always enjoyed "It's a 'Wonderful Life", "A Christmas Carol" (1951, Alistair Sim), and "Miracle on 34th Street" (Maureen Ohara). Don't be afraid to watch them in their original black and white form. To me this adds to the depth of these movies.
Bisscute, I am so happy you made this second channel, I started out on your first, but I love your movie reactions! Always looking forward to your next upload 😊
The Christmas movies that accompanied my childhood (watched over and over again) are "Trading Places" (1983) and "Scrooged" (1988), both very funny and with excellent actors.
For me it's Christmas movie. When I was a child it was on TV just after Home Alone, so my memories about Christmas include Die Hard in the same way as Home Alone, Christmas tree and presents. I even had to bought it on blu-ray since TV stopped showing it on christmas, but there is no christmas eve for me without the movie.
It is a Christmas movie. What do you do at Christmas time? Go see family right? John is reconnecting with his wife, Powell is going home to see his wife and Argyle is going to his Girlfriend. Hans Powell and John are introduced using Christmas songs.
In a figurative sense, the film is closer to Christmas reality than most standard Christmas films. Parents in particular are allowed to feel like John MccLane when the kids really crank it up and let out all kinds of feelings. From joy to arguments and screams, everything is there. It's a nice metaphor for christmas. 🎅
It’s a Christmas movie because all John wants is to be home with his family for the holidays. See? It’s basically the same story as It’s A Wonderful Life.
it's a christmas movie because he's going out to l.a. to visit his kids for christmas , his wife holly her boss and all of the other employees are at a christmas party , characters are singing christmas songs and people are wishing other people a merry christmas
It's A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street (original b&w), all versions of A Christmas Carol, Die Hard 1 & 2 and Lethal Weapon 1 are all Christmas movie staples in our house. With the kids its the animated Christmas movies like Rudolph & Frosty and of course The Grinch Who Stole Christmas with Jim Carey.
"Now I have a michine gun too, Ho! Ho! Ho!" "Yippie KaYay, Mother****er!" "Eeeeenkkk! Sorry Hans, wrong answer!" "Come out to the Coast! We'll get together, have a few laughs! Click!" "Looks like we're gonna need some more FBI guys." Some of the best lines ever.
Why Die Hard is a Christmas movie: - John McClane is going to see his wife for Christmas at a Christmas party being held by the company she works for. (IE this meeting wouldn't happen any other time of year.) - The rap Arguile is listening to in the limo is about Santa Claus "This IS Christmas music!" - The orchestra at the Christmas party is playing Ode to joe. - There's a huge Christmas tree - The guy that kisses John says "Merry Christmas." - Holly makes references to Rudolph, Frosty, and Scrooge. - Holly says to her daughter "We'll see what mommy and Santa can do, okay?" - Hans makes a reference to it being the "time of miracles" and tells Theo to be of "good cheer." - When Al is picking up Twinkies "for the wife." He's singing "Let it snow." - "Now I have a Machine gun - Ho. Ho. Ho." Would not work without it being Christmas. - Ode to Joy plays when the terrorists open the vault door and Theo says "Merry Christmas!" - The tape John uses to strap his pistol to his back is Christmas wrapping tape. If it wasn't the Christmas season he wouldn't have been able to save his wife. - Papers fall from Nakatomi like snow flakes while John and Holly drive away in the limo and "Let it snow" plays. - The movie has themes regarding family, redemption, and togetherness.
"A Wonderful Life (1946)" when I was growing up, but when I got married, I made sure to watch "A Christmas Story (1983)" every year. "The Christmas List (1997)" is a good one as well.
It’s always been a Christmas movie. I mean, it literally takes place on Christmas Eve. There are tons of Christmas decorations in nearly every scene. It’s a Christmas movie by default.

One of my favourite Christmas movies! (It's a Christmas movie because it's set at Christmas, and also there's a Christmas tree). I also really like Bad Santa
Its a xmas movie because it's a feel good ending, it has simplistic themes, it is devoid of politics or other controversial topics. Something for the whole family to enjoy together.
What a fantastic Christmas Reaction! 😅 So salty from the beginning, and just did not get hydrated the entire time, until maybe the end! Firstly, I don’t care if it’s considered Christmas or not, it’s a really good movie. I feel there are a lot of Shakespearean elements in it, like the story ark range of bad guys(from Hans to Ellis to the reporter) all look alike, the call backs like the glass from the explosion (“..who gives a fuck about glass?”) and then Johns feet, and a bunch more other stuff. As to the “Christmas Movie” aspect, one thing many might not get to is how it was snowing, in LA, in the end(you said raining), and the family was back together(like “Home Alone 1”). Speaking of Home Alone, how is that a Christmas Movie?! The horrible family, traveling to Paris(had to look it up, never seen it), where Christmas doesn’t even exist, leaves a poor kid behind, cuz they are all so narcissistic 😂, I’m kidding! I haven’t seen any of them, but they are definitely Christmas movies. The only Christmas movie I really like, besides “The Christmas Story”, which I was very late to, but have seen, is the version of “A Christmas Carol”, with George C. Scott, as Scrooge. That’s a very good rendition, in my opinion. The original story is amazing, if you read it. Dickens, tho a bit formulaic, is a favorite of mine! Great reaction, again! You are such an interesting individual, you make revisiting something I’ve enjoyed in the past really fun!🌷💐
Around here, in the U.S., the go to Christmas movie when i was growing up was "It's A Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart, was on television on multiple channels all season long. Also it wasn't Christmas till the Peanuts Christmas Special, a cartoon, came on.
Reasons Die Hard is a Christmas movie: (1) Hans chose Christmas Eve because the building would be mostly empty and vulnerable. The Antagonist needs it to be Christmas. (2) John is only there because he's visitng the family for Christmas. The Protagonist is only there because it's Christmas. Could they have written it differently and found plausible explanations for the coincidence of them both being there? Perhaps, but they didn't. Because they were making a Christmas movie. (3) Bloody as it is, it's essentially a feel good movie. We cheer when John chalks up another bad guy. We cheer louder when he follows the kill with a pithy one-liner. And we go batshit crazy at the end when Hollie punches out the reporter. Well, they did in my cinema, anyway (and I should tell you I'm a Brit and as a rule we don't cheer in cinemas. Maybe more common now, but in the 80s, nope. No way.) (4) After the first twenty minutes or so, no one dies who we care about all that much. We have some sympathy for the security guards downstairs, and we feel bad about Takagi, but after that it's deserved death all the way (you might argue that the cops outside the building and in the armoured car don't deserve it, but the way the movie plays at the very least our sympathy is tempered by how thick-headed they are going in the way they do). Other than that the gang members get what's coming to them, as does Ellis, and the FBI guys were set up as massive pricks precisely so that we shed no tears when their helicopter goes down. (5) There are movies which we consider Christmas movies that don't even take place exclusively at Christmas. Only the third act of It's A Wonderful Life is set at Christmas, for example. And whilst I'd never argue that It's a Wonderful Life is not a Christmas movie - you could argue that it is less of one than Die Hard. Not only does a good chunk of the film not take place at Christmas, but also the bad guy doesn't get his comeuppance. Potter steals the money and gets to keep it with zero consequences. Going back to Die Hard - take Christmas away and the story doesn't work. It is possible to make a movie set at Christmas that isn't a Christmas movie, but to do that Christmas has to be an afterthought. Maybe it's only set at Christmas because the filmmaker wants the visuals and to use Christmas music. Or perhaps they're just setting it at Christmas because that's when it's due to be released. You spot those movies by the same test - can you take Christmas out of the equation without hurting the story? It should be noted that Bruce Willis is on record denying that it's a Christmas movie. But charming as Bruce is as a screen presence, that doesn't make him right, and both the director and writer of the film have said quite clearly they think it is.
Fun fact: Alan Rickman didn't know about the fall at end. That's his genuine reaction. Until this movie, all action stars were basically mountains of muscles so McClain open the door to regular guy to be part of the action. Also before this movie, Bruce Willis was known mostly because of his comedy side. Please continue with the series, also I strongly recommend lethal weapon series as well. I love how immersed in the movie you were, keep it coming, lady
Bruce was broke and homeless, making calls and getting callbacks from a payphone!!! And then he got one of the best tv shows ever that made him a star, Moonlighting! Look up a few episodes here! It's a throwback to old 40s-50s movies, Cary Grant comedies.
music and the spirit of christmas, are what make this a solid Christmas movie. michael kamen's choice of utilizing Christmas themes for the score is epic.
There are several Christmas movies that I grew up with, and now I am fortunate to have them on DVD or Blu-Ray... Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Frosty the Snowman, but the one that I have watched more than the others is A Charlie Brown Christmas.
For my family, it’s not Christmas until we watch the original 1947 black and white Miracle on 34th Street. I do like watching Die Hard around this time of year too though lol
In My Humble Opinion these are 3 of the Greatest Christmas Movies of All Time ( It's A Wonderful Life ) ( Miracle on 34 The Street ) ( The Bishops Wife ) that were the embodiment of the best of Humanity. !!! What can I say, I think some people say it’s a Christmas movie so they can watch an action movie instead of a chick flick kinda Christmas moive. It also is about family, love, and is set at Christmas so the added action is just the icing on the cake!
It is 100% a Christmas movie. Take everything Christmas related in this movie and it’s just another really great action movie about a heist. There’s so many Christmas references and music cues and dialogue about the holiday. Therefore it’s a Christmas movie.
@@JohnnyXoz I think you’re thinking of Lethal Weapon. Anything Christmas was barely mentioned in that movie. There were so many verbal mentions of and about Christmas. Christmas cues in the score itself, visual cues of and about Christmas. So many references one after another in this movie. Lethal Weapon had maybe a few scattered references. One could forget that it takes place during Christmas if they’re not paying attention.
More importantly, take Christmas out of it and the movie doesn't even happen. It's not Christmas, John isn't home for the holidays. So there's no one there to save everyone, but that's okay because........ It's not Christmas, so everyone isn't staying at the office late for the big Christmas party so Hans and his gang don't even bother showing up. So take everything Christmas out of the movie, and it's not even an action movie.
You hit the nail on the head! It's a Christmas movie solely due to the time. That's it. Growing up, one of my all time favorite Christmas movies was "Scrooge" starring Alistair Sim. A VERY close second would have to be "Scrooged" starring Bill Murray. The first is, of course, a direct reenactment of the Charles Dickens classic; the second a "modernized", comedic version from 1988.
Home Alone is called a Christmas movie, even though it is not a Christmas movie. Die Hard is called a Christmas movie, even though it is not a Christmas movie. American movie studios produced big-budged blockbuster movies for Christmas release to maximize sales for vacationing American families on holiday. Miracle on 34th Street is a Christmas movie It's a Wonderful Life is a Christmas movie A Christmas Carol is a Christmas movie. I guess you get the idea.
What is the traditional Christmas movie? A Christmas Story of course. What other movie gets a full 24 hours of airplay in the USA during Christmas? It's a must watch
He's not talking about taking shoes and socks off in the Aircraft, he is talking about when he gets home, and this is a Christmas movie because it's set at Christmas time :)
Back in the 70s and 80s we called that the relax era of policing hearing Gun Fire in the background could’ve been fireworks going off on Christmas. 19:13
I got into watching old movies as a teen with my friends. The one that became my go to Christmas movie is We're No Angels (1955) starring Humphrey Bogart, Peter Ustinov, Aldo Rae, Joan Bennett, Basil Rathbone, Leo G. Carrol, Gloria Talbot and John Baer. It's a wonderful light romantic comedy. I really hope you get a chance to see it.
It takes place in Christmas time, has a Christmas party, has Christmas music. Just because it has action and violence doesn't mean it's not a Christmas movie.
It used to be that a film studio's BIG movies were reserved for big holiday openings. These were times when many people had time away from their jobs to go to movies. Christmas was one such time.
Pity TH-cam doesn't show the thumbs down totals anymore. It is a Christmas movie! It's set at Christmas, there's Christmas music and there's a Christmas tree. Also it's about family. Why do you think it isn't one?
The reason it is a Christmas movie is because of the themes. Family, friendship, redemption, reconciliation, love. It is presented in an unorthodox format, true, but those ARE the themes of the traditional Christmas movie as we understand it. Everything John does, he does to save his wife. Because he just wants to reconcile with her and spend Christmas with her and the children. He's a reluctant hero drawn into a disaster, but he rises to the occasion because everything he loves is at stake. Powell has a wife of his own to get home to, pregnant with their first child. He seems to have it good for the most part. But he has demons in his past. He hasn't been the same as a man or an officer ever since he shot that kid. He needs to learn that he can be forgiven and still be a good man despite his mistakes. These are all textbook Christmas themes. They don't have to be just in Christmas films, but they fit squarely in with the traditional meaning of the season. That God came to earth in human form as a sign of good will and love to all humanity. Because he wanted to reconcile with us and forgive us for our sins and mistakes. That's my essay. Whether you're convinced or not, I certainly believe that Die Hard is a Christmas movie. As much a Christmas movie as Home Alone!
Growing up for me there were a lot of Christmas movies; probably among the top were "It's a Wonderful LIfe" (which just takes place at Christmas, too...) and "A Charlie Brown Christmas". I probably like Charlie Brown best, though. He's such an everyman, and he's asking the big question; he sees all the commercialization, the unadulterated greed, the judgmentalism... and in the end, in exasperation, has to ask... "Can anyone tell me what Christmas is really all about?" And then we're told.
I was kind of surprised when I'd learned that that police-chief had, back in the early '70's, played the role of Long Tom Roberts in George Pal's movie-adaptation of "Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze."
This along with Batman Returns and Gremlins are the best Christmas movies along with Nightmare before Christmas. I'd very much call this a Christmas film just lacks snow which of course makes sense the films set in L.A.
The Grinch that Stole Christmas, the cartoon. Frosty the snow man & Rudolf the red nosed reindeer. It had all three movies on one VHS. The Grinch was always the big one for me because my mom always played it and called me ‘Lou’ my first name is Cindy so ‘cindy lou who’ was something she loved. She still calls me Lou.
Once you made this channel to react to movies and you are reacting to old movies i suggest you to react to "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas and to "Léon: The Professional"
Christmas never start until Hans Gruber fells from Nakatomi Tower :D the scene where he actually falls down was shot in the way, that they were suposed to make him fall at count of three, but they released him at "two" so the surprise and horror in his face are real.

So there.

"He's knees are weak. Mom's spaghetti" 🤣🤣 that was the best reaction to that part

#1 the intention...director John McTiernan and writer Steven De Souza have confirmed that Die Hard is a Christmas movie (but there's more)
the Christmas theme and motif are central to the film
The basic narrative situation of Die Hard is a man traveling long-distance to spend the Christmas holiday with his estranged wife and their children.
It's set at an office party on Christmas Eve
The chief villain Hans Gruber explicitly invokes the Christmas spirit: “It’s Christmas, Theo, it’s a time for miracles.”
As the vault door opens and the crescendoing chords of "Ode to Joy" boom over the soundtrack, Theo has the expression of a kid coming downstairs to see piles and piles of presents. "Merry Christmas," he whispers in awe. Merry Christmas, indeed
"Die Hard" is chock full of Christmas songs.
Love, sacrifice, family, friendship, good conquering evil, and reconciliation
His wife is called Holly
Hans is the Grinch
Argyle (as in socks) hangs out (like a stocking)
There is an invocation of Jesus Christ, Mary, & Joseph
Another big recurring theme of Christmas movies is a lack of faith and at first no one believes. Even John begins to lose hope but perseveres to the end
"Season's Greetings" packing tape inspiration used to tape hand gun to John McClane's back
Santa Claus makes an appearance Ho-Ho-Ho (even if it's in the form of a dead terrorist).
See, "Die Hard" is a Christmas movie!
😉🎄🎅🦌✨
They arent terrorists, they are thieves.
Well said. Please allow me to add one other older b&w Christmas movie: "We're No Angels." Bogart, Ustinov, & Aldo Ray.
Bisscute, I am so happy you made this second channel, I started out on your first, but I love your movie reactions! Always looking forward to your next upload 😊
You are so awesome.
I love your sense of humour and your "one liner" comments are so funny.
PS...
It's definately a Christmas Movie... 😀
"Now I have a Machine Gun. Ho. Ho. Ho."
The Christmas movies that accompanied my childhood (watched over and over again) are "Trading Places" (1983) and "Scrooged" (1988), both very funny and with excellent actors.
Scrooged!
It’s been a few years since I watched “Scrooged”. I’ll have to squeeze it into my schedule this week.
Whait a minute..you dont think Die Hard is a Christmas movie ..but you acttually like ..Trading Places ..with Dan Ackroyd in blackface...lol
Not just that but it always comes out on Christmas hits the marathon just as much as a Christmas story around Christmas time so there's that too
For me it's Christmas movie. When I was a child it was on TV just after Home Alone, so my memories about Christmas include Die Hard in the same way as Home Alone, Christmas tree and presents. I even had to bought it on blu-ray since TV stopped showing it on christmas, but there is no christmas eve for me without the movie.
The shoes and socks thing was a suggestion for when you get home, or to your hotel. Not on the plane!
Every Christmas movie has a conflict. This is the only one with explosions. Thats why its the best.
Tis a Christmas Movie because NYC Detective John McClain is traveling to LA to spend the Holidays with the wife he still loves and their 2 children...
It is a Christmas movie. What do you do at Christmas time? Go see family right? John is reconnecting with his wife, Powell is going home to see his wife and Argyle is going to his Girlfriend. Hans Powell and John are introduced using Christmas songs.
THIS IS THE MOST BADASS CHRISTMAS MOVIE OF ALL TIME
Very good Christmas movie but Lethal weapon is better
@@TheDarkhorse386 Lethal Weapon is my number 2 but respect
Dont forget Gremlins. Makes a nice trifecta to watch on Christmas Eve
So fun watching you watch this movie. Movies bring out more emotions in you than music.
6:27 "Shut the f.... hell up!"
LOL!! Nice save!!
You're cracking me up! 🙂
It's a wonderful life is the best Christmas movie, and this is a Christmas movie
It's not xmas until Hans Gruber falls from Nakatomi Tower.
It's a Christmas movie because it takes place during a Christmas party ;-) Bad Santa is another really fun Christmas movie!
"definetely you were calling... Jesus, you were calling" LOL
My Christmas Movie has to be " Bad Santa " as i cannot stop laughing all the way through it .
Why Die Hard is a Christmas movie:
- John McClane is going to see his wife for Christmas at a Christmas party being held by the company she works for. (IE this meeting wouldn't happen any other time of year.)
- The rap Arguile is listening to in the limo is about Santa Claus "This IS Christmas music!"
- The orchestra at the Christmas party is playing Ode to joe.
- There's a huge Christmas tree
- The guy that kisses John says "Merry Christmas."
- Holly makes references to Rudolph, Frosty, and Scrooge.
- Holly says to her daughter "We'll see what mommy and Santa can do, okay?"
- Hans makes a reference to it being the "time of miracles" and tells Theo to be of "good cheer."
- When Al is picking up Twinkies "for the wife." He's singing "Let it snow."
- "Now I have a Machine gun - Ho. Ho. Ho." Would not work without it being Christmas.
- Ode to Joy plays when the terrorists open the vault door and Theo says "Merry Christmas!"
- The tape John uses to strap his pistol to his back is Christmas wrapping tape. If it wasn't the Christmas season he wouldn't have been able to save his wife.
- Papers fall from Nakatomi like snow flakes while John and Holly drive away in the limo and "Let it snow" plays.
- The movie has themes regarding family, redemption, and togetherness.
LOL! Good one, Bisscute! It was fun rewatching this one with you. 😆
"A Wonderful Life (1946)" when I was growing up, but when I got married, I made sure to watch "A Christmas Story (1983)" every year. "The Christmas List (1997)" is a good one as well.
When I grew up "the great escape " was on ever Christmas, still don't know why lol
You should check out "Alita -Battle Angel" there is a resemblance
It’s always been a Christmas movie. I mean, it literally takes place on Christmas Eve. There are tons of Christmas decorations in nearly every scene. It’s a Christmas movie by default.
For me: A Christmas Carol 1951, I grew up watching it each Christmas.
Thank you for watching the video, It means a lot to me .
I will leave this pinned message here to REMIND everyone that i do not have TELEGRAM and there is no GIVEAWAY. Those you see are bot scams . Keep yourself safe and know that I would not ask for your info. ❤ ❤
This movie is rated 'R', it's definitely NOT for the whole family
@@JohnnyXoz It for sure is for the whole family. It's just some blood and violence.
@@Nekotaku_TV lol it literally uses curse words like motherF**

My personal top three Christmas movies are Die Hard, The Ref, and the George C. Scott version of A Christmas Carol.
Glad you enjoyed it! Happy Christmas ;)
Around here, in the U.S., the go to Christmas movie when i was growing up was "It's A Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart, was on television on multiple channels all season long. Also it wasn't Christmas till the Peanuts Christmas Special, a cartoon, came on.
Reasons Die Hard is a Christmas movie:
(1) Hans chose Christmas Eve because the building would be mostly empty and vulnerable.
No way.)
(4) After the first twenty minutes or so, no one dies who we care about all that much.
But charming as Bruce is as a screen presence, that doesn't make him right, and both the director and writer of the film have said quite clearly they think it is.
xmas movie,,, it is about a dad who is doing what ever it takes to be with his family for the holidays.
Best Christmas movie ever.
Hans down.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase was always a fav at Christmas time.... funny, funny, funny!!
!!! Still this is my opinion. Happy Holidays 🌲🌲🌲😁🌞🌞🌞 From the Sunshine State of Florida the USA

I watched die hard and bad Santa. I watch one or the other every year for over 15 years. Great reaction.
The 'Christmas' theme in this is literally maybe 2 minutes of 2hour plus movie. It's NOT a CHRISTMAS MOVIE
@@JohnnyXoz lol 😂
More importantly, take Christmas out of it and the movie doesn't even happen. It's not Christmas, John isn't home for the holidays. So there's no one there to save everyone, but that's okay because........ It's not Christmas, so everyone isn't staying at the office late for the big Christmas party so Hans and his gang don't even bother showing up. So take everything Christmas out of the movie, and it's not even an action movie.
and "santa" said HO HO HO ! after he aquired a machinegun.....
I am going to start calling you John McClain cause that was one of the best Die Hard reviews I have seen. Glad you enjoyed the movie.
Yeah had a feeling it was because of that. Thanks for watching
Xmas movie: National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
Thanksgiving: Planes Trains, and automobiles
If Home Alone is a Christmas movie, then so is Die Hard. Christmas plays about as big of a part in stories of both.

Even if it wasn't, which it is, the fact that this debate comes up every year makes it one now
I enjoyed your reaction. If you would like more traditional Xmas movies, try the 1947 (The Bishop`s Wife) & the 1940 (The Shop Around The Corner). :)
If a movie have Christmas music as music for the ending credits!!?....ITS A CHRISTMAS MOVIE!!!!.........
If "Christmas" isn't about importance of family to you, then it's about stopping greedy ones
I could say so much, but ill just leave it with GO ROMANIA!bissCUTE that was your best reaction yet.I was watching your face the entire time.
It takes place in Christmas time, has a Christmas party, has Christmas music. Just because it has action and violence doesn't mean it's not a Christmas movie.
The director has come out and said, it is a christmas movie! Please react to another christmas movie, Lethal Weapon with Mel Gibson!
no he hasn't
"Ho - Ho - Ho, Now I have a machine gun" = Christmas movie
It used to be that a film studio's BIG movies were reserved for big holiday openings. These were times when many people had time away from their jobs to go to movies. Christmas was one such time.
Their JOBS & SCHOOL.
If I knew you were a fligth attendant I would have travelled every week lol.
Great reaction as always!
There are two types of people in the world. People who think Die Hard is a Christmas movie, and people who are WRONG.
Pity TH-cam doesn't show the thumbs down totals anymore. It is a Christmas movie! It's set at Christmas, there's Christmas music and there's a Christmas tree. Also it's about family. Why do you think it isn't one?
You are correct
Don't forget the name of John's wife
@@ctakitimu because it doesn't make me feel like it's Christmas.
@@godmagnus Fair enough, there's no right answer to that question tbh
A wonderful life, 1951 A Christmas Carol.
"Can anyone tell me what Christmas is really all about?"
And then we're told.
I was kind of surprised when I'd learned that that police-chief had, back in the early '70's, played the role of Long Tom Roberts in George Pal's movie-adaptation of "Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze."
This movie has a saying, that there's no christmas until you see a German falling from a tower! 🤣
This along with Batman Returns and Gremlins are the best Christmas movies along with Nightmare before Christmas. I'd very much call this a Christmas film just lacks snow which of course makes sense the films set in L.A.
I agree they're all Christmas movies, but the best? Your perception of Christmas is different
I agree with Gremlins. Biss has to get on these classics.
gremlins is my $hit
The movie is full of Christmas themes... forgiveness, redemption, salvation...
You must have a ton of ex military and current military as patreons lol!!!!! This is absolutely a Christmas Movie!!!! lol!!!! There is a big xmas tree right in the office and a ton of bad guys get sent to hell. Exactly what Jesus would want for a present 😁
