The monkey approached 'shyly' when he got close enough he _snatched_ the dozen bags of fruits on the tourist's hand (that he kept close to his body) and ran the hell away. The guy exclaimed but ultimately more amused than upset. Those mfs are clever

    This is astonishing and worrisome at the same time. It's another good example of how the cultural relationships can modify the development of all us, human and no-human animals. I'm amazed by these monkeys's capacity for identify human's items with possible material value that may give them a position to trade. Obviously this is not a good behavior of the monkeys, but it certainly is pretty complex and requires a lot of mental skills. I'm impressed and a little afraid of the monkeys, and concerned for the humans, because it's clear that, in general, the people are dealing with this clever misbehaviour in a ropy way

What gets me though as he made me aware is the abuse that these poor beautiful babies get from these so called cameramen that have numerous channels which have some drama happening where the monkeys get hurt etc, these people are setting up the monkeys to get hurt and make mega bucks from these videos. At least now I am aware that some not all are getting baby monkeys that are hurt and they rescue them ( pretending) .We all know Chris is the good guy.

    This happened to me in Bali , monkey took my glasses ,but monkey was so careful while snatching he didn't hurt me , one local guy was close by he came and monkey obidiently gave my glasses to him , and I had to pay some money to that guy, I felt the monkey was trained to do that to tourist, because they don't damage the things they steal you always get that back safely.

  • @Cococonutt
    @Cococonutt 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    I lived 15 minutes from Angkor Wat and I would pass through some evenings on my bike just to watch the monkey families interact. But I always kept my distance. They were not nearly this aggressive to tourists but I would cringe watching naive tourists giving them food and snapping pics so close up. Also one bite and you're screwed. One time one slowly walked by and then latched onto my shirt and went crazy swinging from it and then just went about his business, scariest shit ever lollllll

      Yes the locals need to enforce strict laws of NEVER ever reward food for thief activity.
      The apes learn how to be criminals and becomes an absolute menace.
      And tourists who give food for getting stuff back should be HEAVILY fined.
