    Goos video thanks. I purchased this camera to keep an eye on the dogs when at work. I set up automations to wake up camera at 6:30 AM and then go to sleep with face recognition, works great and I also set it to send notification. Not going to use as a hub since I have other Aqara hubs that I use for child devices.

    You should hold out the blur on your HomeKit code a little longer, I could see both the numerical code and the QR code during the transition 0:51

    Great video! What would you recommend between G3 and M2 in terms of the Zigbee range and better future-proofing like the Matter updates?
    I was about to buy the G3 but have doubts now after watching your video thrice. I am confused between G3 and M2. I don't need the camera recordings but if the gestures work well, it's really cool to trigger some automations.

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both support Zigbee and will support Matter. If you don't need the camera, I would go with the M2. The gestures on the G3 are cool (when they work), but finding the sweet spot can be tricky based on lighting, distance, etc. I personally use the M2 cause it has an Ethernet connection, which does help with a stronger and more reliable Zigbee connection since it's hardwired to the network and not battling your other wireless devices to get a wifi signal. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching! 😊

    Great video! Thank you! Can you tell me if it’s possible to trigger an automation to put my camera in privacy mode asking siri or alexa?

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure if that feature will work or not, I would ask Aqara support. Thanks for watching! 😊

    Thank you for a great review! Just one thing - I don't think that's a good idea to turn camera on/off by just door sensor, because if a thief comes through your door, the same automatisation will be triggered too :-)

      That is true, could be configured for better conditions (ie, only when a specific person arrives)

    Just curious any update to the g3, I ordered the g3 before watching your video. Already have the g2h pro and wanted a second camera so I went for the g3, liked the features but now having second thoughts.

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly don’t use the G3 anymore. I think the G2H (haven’t used pro version) is better overall for features and a hub. If you need Pan and tilt I like eufy

    I’m thinking of getting this, does the camera support thread?
    I may wait until the p2 threat motion sensors and window sensors come out.

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have heard that it either is now or thread feature as a border router is coming soon.

      @@AdamsTechLife many thanks for the reply and you make such informative content.
      It would be amazing if I could use my old eve thread door sensors with the aquara hun as part of an integrated home security system.
      I will likely wait for the p2 motion sensor and door contact sensors for the hallway, office and bedroom windows

    Is there a way to make this my outdoor camera? Maybe put it in a waterproof case?

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could always DIY something to get it to outdoor rated, I’m not sure what’s available. Thanks for watching! 😊

    Hi, I have a question. May I trriger my tplink kasa smart lights with aqara g3 gestures? Smart lights are at apple home app, g3 at aqara app, as you know

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you'd have to create a scene in the aqara app to enable gesture identification, add that scene to homekit and when you run that scene you can control other non aqara devices. a bit lengthy setup, but yes

      @BurakTurgut07 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AdamsTechLife thank you so much for your help but for better understanding do you have a video to explain the process? Actually its much better if you prepare video to explain how to use aqara g3 features in homekit with non aqara devices as a automation or scene.. Thank you

    I have G3 and G2H camera .. I make camera to out door cctv camera … I prefer G2H camera compare to G3 . Cause G2H camera viewing better and the lighting better , Motion better that G3 camera .

    Have you revisited reviewing this camera now that firmware has been updated. Would like you to update your review. The camera is only 80 dollars right now at amazon and I am wondering if you still don't recommend it

    Interesting. You say you don’t recommend the G3 due to all the issues but don’t you think most of them are just bugs that could be fixed with firmware updates?

    Sharing some experience... I'm not sure how everyone use or test this camera. I found it completely unreliable, which might be due to the Aqara app. When traveling abroad (from Norway to India) It's almost impossible to get a live feed of the camera in the Aqara app. Either it doesn't connect or drop out with a message of poor network connectivity despite being on a 5GHz wifi 30 cm from the router. All the Aqara sensors connected to the hub shows state, and even the alarm work - but not a chance to see the feed. Not connected to home kit. Frustrating being far away not being able to see what's going on at home. Think this goes out as soon as I get home...
