You have no idea how long ive been waiting for someone to make a video about him!
Baseball doesn't exist does make a video about him
Love Chavez. He gets outs, and eats innings. Respect.
He was legit snubbed from the ASG this season
Absolutely. Not only on his 2024 numbers which have leveled out a bit second half but were legitimately stellar prior to the break, but also on the fact that he deserved a nod from the commissioner just based on his career longevity and what he has stood for. They have given retiring guys all-star nods during BAD final seasons and they wouldn't even give it to Jesse when his numbers said he was a top 5 bullpen guy in the NL at the time.
People may argue he doesn't have the name recognition for that but I challenge you to find an actual baseball fan that doesn't know of and like Chavez.
@@kyleOWillFixIt one of my former work buddies is a huge Dodgers fan, like 18 years old, just got into baseball 2 years ago, and he knows about Jesse, so he's definitely more popular than people think.
Won't quit?! Jesse better NEVER quit, my Braves aren't the same without him! He's in his prime, somehow! In Chavez we trust! Just more proof move and location are BETTER than velo!
I think this year will be his last but I would not be surprised at all if he ends up a coach with the Braves in some capacity
@@wingracer1614 I want him to act as a bullpen coach for us for 10-20 years, so we can throw him into our HoF.
@@lukedeakin7124 Chavez and TdA
Baseball won't be the same once Jesse Chavez is gone. I really hope he becomes the bullpen coach for the Braves or something once he retires so we still see him. Im a 30 year old man. Im not young. Jesse has been around since I was a freshman in highschool.
A baseball season won't feel the same without Jesse around. He's one of the few players left where I still feel that feeling you get as a kid where a superhero is stepping out onto the field to help the good guys beat the bad guys.
Felt this as a 30 year old Cardinal fan losing Yadi and Wainwright over the last two seasons. Some guys just make sense in an organization
@@Devon_Howell Yeah I bet. It still feels weird facing St. Louis and not seeing Yadi behind the dish.
As a Braves fan I was smiling the entire time
The day Jamie Moyer threw his CG shutout against the Braves, he got a hit (remember when pitchers hit? That was wild.) off Jesse Chavez. It was in that moment that the mantle of old man pitcher was passed to Jesse.
I love Jessie, when my friend Keynan Middleton was a rookie he took him under his wing and drove him to the ballpark every day and became a big support for him.
love keynan
@@macks517 same here amazing dude on and off the field
This is such an awesome story. Chavez is a guy who kept going till he found success. He could have quit at anytime but he kept going till he succeeded. Bravo!
Dad strength
Old man jessie is the 🐐
Jamie Moyer but throws kinda hard? I'm all for it!!!
I became a huge Chavez fan in 2018 with his first short stint with the Cubs. Classic, steady, reliable reliever at a time when that's exactly what we needed. I was routing for the Braves in the '21 World Series, specifically for him.
I can't remember if it was one of your videos that I asked for a video on him, but thank you either way.
As a lifelong Oakland A’s fan. Thank you Chavez ❤
starts talking about the one ring, Chavez needs to take on that bold adventure next.
The second best cali reliever jesse who pitched forever, behind only the immortal jesse orosco
Beautiful video , The Coach is very love and such a humble person.
99% of MLB pitcher draftees would love to have the type of career Jesse Chavez has had. Jesse is truly living the dream with all that he has accomplished. Even with that, he will be able to retire and live anonymously in California after his playing days.
We’ve loved watching him since last season, it’s been so cool seeing him being so good. Me and my mom get so hyped whenever he gets on the mound
I was at the Rangers-Reds game in 2019 where he had the last of his two career hits. Happy he won the WS with the Braves, hoping he can get another one!
When a club signs you five times you’re not good in the clubhouse, you’re great. Don’t underestimate what a veteran who understands the room brings to the table.
Rick Vaughn called, and said he wants his glasses back.
I genuinely would go to war for Uncle Jesse. I nearly did so when he was snubbed from the ASG
Seems like he's been near 40 since 2014 with the A's.
well Jamie Moyer is in the independents at age 70, he's planning on making his way back to the show 😂
Good ol Uncle Jesse!
RCC Legend.
Uncle Jesse
He won't have to quit... if he plays a few more games for the Braves... he will be injured. 😢😢😢
looks like the dude from your beer league
Sweet home, Jikago
I hope this video does a comparison of his career stats as a brave and when not a brave. It makes 0 sense what they got going on there with this dude lmao
I think it's situational. For whatever reason, Chavez is great as a garbage time innings eater but sucks in high leverage situations. Even with the Braves he keeps blowing leads in close games but they rarely use him for that. Where he excels is when some rookie gets pulled in the 5th with a 10-4 lead and Jesse comes in for 2 scoreless innings. Then teams see those numbers and think we could use that guy. They throw him out there in high leverage situations, he fails, they cut him and the Braves sign him right back to be the garbage time innings eater he does so well.
@wingracer1614 I prefer thinking of Jesse as a sleeper agent, it's more fun that way
Who’s here after Rich Hill got called up?
Great video
He's the new Jesse Orosco
Ive always wondered where these frequently traded players live... apartment id assume
No idea but if I were a team owner, I'd also buy up a bunch of nice houses in the area and maybe even a nice apartment complex. Yet another source of income and always have something available to rent out to a free agent or trade acquisition.

He's somehow been great on the Braves but just crap anywhere else.
Teams should play your video in every minor league clubhouse especially Triple AAA.
Maddox type. I’m a lifelong Cardinals fan and Maddox was an effin problem. There were years when he was untouchable when they were in a bad stretch and needed a win. So many pitches that were balls until they weren’t. Long career because he never stopped learning and made adjustments other pitchers weren’t capable of. It’s like asking a hitter to change his stance and approach to hitting, it’s tough. He was feared.
this 40 year old pitcher still makes coke the old fashioned way
Subtle reference to pain for Toronto fans. Trading Liam Hendriks to Oakland to get Chavez. Ugh.
He's only good with the braves. As a braves fan we kive him.
ahem rich hill is a person
What about Dick Mountain?
tchicago cubs
white sox couldn't use him
ERA+ does not mean that his ERA was 40% above league average. It means the league had a ERA 40% above his. A small but important distinction. You can read about it on beyondtheboxscore. People always confuse ERA+ and ERA- with what it is describing. But ERA+ is the league to the player, ERA- is the player to the league.
Why do asian women always go with mid white men ? 😭
