I'm team pond as well, you can use that and always replace it with a trampoline in few years when the children old enough - best of both worlds!

Ponds are absolutely fine for children as long as you have proper fencing around it great for them to learn about the wildlife around the pond we have one and my grand daughter absolutely loves it ,they make such a feature in a garden to,you have such a lovely large garden you could so much with it Jo enjoy whatever you decide to do ❤😊😊
Yeah but this is Joe we’re talking about lol, he’s a massive worrier even with it all fenced up and that he probably still be panicking and stressed. Probably isn’t worth putting himself through that.
Can be a water feature without being dangerous?
You can put grills on them.
Definitely team pond!!! Then your family can learn how to feed the wee fish. Also such a nice tranquil feature to have in a garden. We need updates on this!🫶🏻
The jars are glazed stoneware Joe they are lovely. Torn between a pond and keeping the trampoline the latter great for future children then when they are older create a pond. Loved the vlog ❤

I’ve got two old brewery jars too, but they’ve been repurposed into lamps! So if you can’t find a use for them in the garden they’re such cool lights with filament bulbs!
You were lucky that the floating bridge was working as it spends more time out of service. So glad you had a great holiday, I have happy memories of growing up there in the 70s and 80s and the numerous mini stays with my soon to be 25 year old daughter at my parents house in Carisbrooke 😀
Team Pond! You can put a trampoline anywhere.... that area is perfect for a pond and I'm sure Dianne will use it loads and love it as much as you. Plus when you have a family, they can learn loads from watching pond life. XX

Ohhhhhh dear Joe I love this vlog! And Im happy that your sweetheart is with you! Oh, Im just sticking with the pond idea, but I think you can combine that space into something really nice with the jumps and a crazy garden like the one in Wonderland. You can put all the elements together in a smaller version and I think it will fit well! :) If you create a pond, fireflies will come to visit :')

Not a pond if you’re having kids. RoSPA recommends to fill in ponds until kids are 6 years old. Maybe a sand pit or rockery if you want to make it a seating area 🪴

Also Joe, I get extremely nervous when getting a flight. I convince myself something will be wrong with something when I check in. It’s never happened (yet) but I’m taking a flight to Australia next week to see my daughter who lives in Melbourne. I’m travelling alone (have done long haul before but not as far as Australia). You would thing as a 59 year old I’d be used to it by now but it doesn’t get easier as I get older. I blame the menopause 😅.

Team Pond, because you can do an inverse with the trampoline quite easy (I think), anywhere, and a pond area would be lovely to have.
i'm the same with anxiety travelling, especially planes. Travelling to Helsinki for work on Friday and took the 4 hour layover in Amsterdam to give myself enough time to navigate an unknown airport.

I’m with you Joe on missing transport. I’d rather be waiting at station / airport hours early than have to rush.
I love the idea of a cosy seating area but I think the pond would need to be somehow childproof on top of the fact that you’d have to make time in your busy schedule to clean it regularly. I think you should keep the trampoline and still create a serene seating area and that way you and friends with/without kids can sit and watch them comfortably.
I love that so many people had the same reaction about Matt King being in the video 😂 I always knew they had mutual friends but it's so funny to see them at the same place. In my head, they're in too different universes lol
I’m team pond. You could buy an above ground trampoline and put it anywhere, but that space is really beautiful to hang out.

As a person living in Texas, that whole ferry thing was mind blowing lol
Love the pond idea however having young children and a pond in your yard is a danger you want to avoid. Once kids come along that would be more stress the relaxation lol

We had a pond until I was like 3-4 years old. But I was always down there, because kids love water so my parents didn’t think it was safe with children (a fence didn’t stop me, neither did a net on top of it) so then they took the water out and put sand in it

Team pond, water feature you could even make it like a little wild life bit so bumblebees butterflys ect, trust me kids will use a trampoline a few times and get bored but a pond with fish frogs ect will enjoy it more, imagine getting some frog spawn and watching it grow to frogs kids will enjoy that more

Before you said pond thats what i would have recommended. A zen garden where you can meditate or do yoga near. Or just somewhere you can sit and read or relax. Depending how deep maybe even 2 koi fish lol
Joe, would just like to say in terms of transport timings I am exactly the same. I hate the idea of a train etc leaving without me to the point I am at least half an hour early 😂 x

Dianne has been stupendous vlogging on tour. Pond ideas sound grt. As you would know just have to be careful if young children visit. Last Summer attending a friend's barbecue I witnessed a toddler full into their garden pond - it was awful. Child was fine. Anyway you would be cautious so go for the pond.
You could have your own version of Blue Peter's Italian sunken garden. I think you're just old enough to remember that😊
