You're up in my back yard bro, this is a beautiful region, most people far away from New York just think City and don't realize it's 8-10 hours of driving through New York country/mountains just to get to the Great Lakes
Wow! What a stunning location, Ben. I really like the way you explain you're plan of action for the week ahead. The size of the river, to me, would be daunting. Nothing anywhere near that size of river in Ireland. Hope you do well in the upcoming competition.
Freaking awesome!!! My parents live in Cape Vincent for about 10 yrs now, so I’m quite familiar with the area you’re fishing. Soo freaking awesome I’ve been watching you for years and your finally fishing close to me,lol. Good luck, there are some Monster smallies up there.
NO WAY! 11:58 In about 30 yards closer to that island is where i caught my biggest smallmouth ever 5lbs 11ounces. Long time fan super dope to see you fishing where I fish!
So glad to see you’re way up here in my local lakes! There is tons of good fishing just a bit South of that area. Can you tell us more about that swim bladder needle you used? I have needed that a few times and never had one.
@@WhitetailWeekendWarriors I would be a half mile past the end of the drift before a wacky work made it to the bottom unless you are slapping a big weight on that
I was fishing the 1000 islands on the Canada side bout a dang month ago and let me tell you the smallies were not small lol.. can't hardly wait for tournament footage
What a compliment to you Ben, those professional fisherman come in after you and fish your spots right behind you. Actually lots of times even when your on your spot. Really kinda honors your knowledge that they believe in you such that they copy you. They must think your goddamn genius. I don’t want you to get too big a head tho.
There’s another way to help the fish get back down to the deeps without poking a hole in them . I use one of those orange bobber markers where it unravels when you throw in water and the orange bobber stays in place as it unravels to bottom. The metal is very pliable which I clamp in fishes mouth and away the fish goes back to bottom. They can shake the clamp out of its mouth once it gets back down to their comfort zone. Easy Peasy works every time. And no hole.
@@Chootempaw I grew up there and moved down when I was in high school with my parents because my dad wanted to come down after retirement as well. 1st - a WONDERFULLY done video! The drone shots were beautiful...🤩🤩 And you gave a GREAT description of the complexity of this river❤ 2nd - i am happy to see someone fizz their fish but have a question for you🤔... Why did you fizz the fish you immediately released? Its not necessary at all....its a rare fish that doesn't swim down when immediately released.😉 The less holesxthese fish have in them, the better. Also, i would hope you could use a smaller diameter needle...the bendz mender is a 16 gauge needle/it leaves a much bigger hole in the fish than needed. I can suggest an alternative, better way to fizz your fish if you are interested...just message me sometime....😊
Yo so the last video you said you was giving stuff to 3 people who comment and winners would be put in the description of this video. Well who won and where are their names in the description?
If you had the proper boat for Lake Ontario some of the biggest salmon in the world or at the mouth of the Black River 100lb Skamania salmon and the record walleye for Lake Ontario is 27 lb not to mention 72-in 50-pound muskies in northern pike 7 world record muskie came in 1960s by Leonard Hartman when they were building all the locks and dams on the Saint Lawrence Seaway it would move the fish to places where they weren't working on the river he was using a liver called a swick 18 in Long hand carved out of Ash 1968 equals 12/70 in 7- of them were World Records
Respect for the bait you are using and MF'er fishing for life. I'm from Ontario, Canada and fish smallies in lake Ontario all the time. You need to put on some 10lbs mono and rip some damn lips. Your gonna waste alot of time trying to get your fish in the boat with such light line. Smallies will not see 10lbs in that clear water. Best of luck in the tournament. One more thing gobies are an invasive species to lake Ontario and surrounding water ways. Do not through them back, either kill them or use them for bait.

@@kylemayer8486 fish keep getting bigger every year here. Same with Champlain. Weights probably go down next year with them launching in waddington as that adds 60 miles of ride to the lake. Fishing the river blind is easy. You can’t see most of the fish you can on live in the river because they suck extremely tight to cover with the current

You do not have to fizz a fish if you let it go after you catch it. Once they get down to 6 ft they naturally fizz and you can actually see them blow the air put. Even someone fizzing perfect a lot of the fish will die.
I was so thankful to see you eventually tighten that drag up a tad.
