Exactly,Discourse simply refers to a disscussion or conversation.When we analys or study a discussion( it can be written / spoken) it is called discourse analysis. E.g the speech of any political leader we can analys with the help of discourse analysis. Basically, we see the reapetition of words,subjects,and dialouges in it..And we see how the particular speech is started and how it ends...And what kind of language is used a speaker used to address the target audience ( this audience can be public).There are also so many examples of discourse analysis.. It is used in our everyday life.
