@SilverDragons47 I'm a Canadian and only started stacking 3 months ago got 2023 maples 100 of them. The beautiful and fun, plus my sovereign coin.I got 200 buffalo's for weight, good price too
KEEP IT UP I HAVE 70,000 ASE'S IN MINT MONSTER BOXES ALONE. BEEN BUYING SINCE 1986 TWO BOXES EACH YEAR 1986-2024. I ALSO HAVE 600+ RARE DATE LOW MINTAGE PROOF MINT STATE BURNISHED REVERSE PROOF ENHANCED PROOF SLABBED CERTIFIED ASE'S.
The Premiums are not only a DISGRACE----it's actually ILLEGAL for the Mint to be charging that much. Bix Weir did a great job calling out the Mint on this.
It’s always a good time to stack eagles! Buying an eagle every now and then regardless of the price shouldn’t hurt, just apply dollar cost averaging to them. -DS
All depends on price. If I can buy an ASE for $2-3 more than a buffalo round, then yes. If the spread is higher, I would stick with rounds. Remember that rounds will go for less when selling them back.
I include Eagles in my stacking and love it. The price plummeted recently and are a very good buy now; along with silver dollars, etc. They are so beautiful and easy to understand;ie, one once of silver per coin in contrast to 1 ounce coins containing 90% silver per one ounce coin.
It's nice to see the premium on these come down from nose bleed territory. I'm still not sure if I'll be buying more but at least if I decide to I can. Thanks!
Hearing about the tens of millions of silver coins being minted all the time... it makes me think the price of silver will never skyrocket. It's just so common. Silver really isn't very rare at all, is it? Nothing like gold.
I also like the silver eagle. I found one in the classifieds today that sold me 9 pieces. I picked them up here in my city in Germany for 234€ ($256) so 26€ ($28.46) a piece, the coins The ones I bought today are from the years 1986-1994 and are in perfect condition. We also often have silver eagles in the pawn shop here, but I find them a bit expensive at 29€ ($31.74) each and the coin dealers even want 30-31€ ($32.83-33.93) which is too extreme for me, which is why I buy them I always privately go to flea markets and classified ads for 25-27€ ($27.36-29.55)
These are avail for 3.99 over spot rn if you look. That isnt bad considering mint to cost to bullion dealers is 2 dollars. Grab a roll if you are ok with the silver price.
Is there any explanation why the American Silver Eagle coins are not marked with 999 silver fineness? Almost all other coins have a fineness of 999 or 9999.
The missing reed is an index mark to index the coin into a scanning machine. The optical scanner will scan a specific section of the coin's molecular structure...individual to each coin, like a fingerprint. In the event that we go to a Bi-metal system and silver is revalued, the system will be to deposit your coin in the bank who scans for authenticity, then use an electronic debit card against it to make change for items purchased. This will be necessary since silver and gold will be revalued to 1000x their current spot value.
Pimbex has been pretty consistently selling these at about a four buck premium, so went after those pretty hard. Glad to see Doc joining that party! Eagles at less than $29? Gotta love that!
Yeah not much of a security feature compared to maples or britannia's however I just bought a tube of "off quality" American silver eagles from hero and for the same for the same price as I could have got new maples. They turned out to be 2004 and they were all beautiful to my eye except for two had some fingerprints couple stunning toners in the batch also so definitely worth the gamble thanks as always Mr Dragons
Eagles have been a ripoff for so long (yes they drop here and there) But it’s lately been more difficult than ever to justify the premiums! I remember the ole days of 1-2 more dollars than anything else!
Still not so cheap here in Europe, but the differences between other bullion are much smaller than before.. I like ASE as they are not so susceptible to milk spots as Maples and Kangaroos.. so the extra premium is kinda worth it.. the cheapest bullion is still Philharmonic though.
I live in Minnesota , I am watching premiums at the shops and they coming down here , but I am still seeing as high as $7 or $8 over spot , the best price I have seen was $5 over spot not including cull ASEs . Here it doesn't seem to matter what year as much as on-line . Not including Pawn Shops , there are about 10 Precious metal shops across the state , in my travels I have been to most of them recently . Once I start seeing $4 over I will start buying ASEs again . I have not purchased one in about 2 years now because I knew even if I hold them for 25 years I would not get that premium back . I AM WAITING PATIENTLY DRAGON ., I no longer buy on-line , ( I just prefer not to anymore for personal safety ). Thanks for the vid
Premiums might be low but the spot price is high. For me to buy anymore ASE’s to total price would have to be $25 $26 area. When i look at buying you have to look at how much will it cost me. Premiums high spot price low or premiums low and spot high. Still gonna cost the same. This is why you look at total cost.
I’ve starting stacking silver (I’m in the UK) and the premiums seem way higher for silver than they do in the US. I don’t know if I’m looking in all the wrong places!? I have no local coin shops, second hand stores like cash converters tend to sell silver for at least double spot which is insane. Online I struggle to find less than a 25% premium over spot
you are correct the 1996 is the key date for eagles and 1997 is the key date for maples although premiums on these dates tend to be much higher if you seek them out.
When premiums were high, I just didn't buy as many Silver Eagles as I would have liked to. But, whether spot price goes up or down and premiums are high or low, I still have my stack.
If I am able to get a good price, and at times I do, I am a buyer. However, I can pick up Phil's or Maples for a couple bucks less allowing me to pick up a couple more coins. Bottom line, buy what you like at a price you can afford.
Imagine if there was no premium on Eagles and it was a service provided by the states. Whatever the spot price would be the buying power of the dollar. Like it was a legal tender law or something (Article I, Section 10) Boom, Sauron defeated.
it does not have less silver lol. They all contain AT LEAST 1 oz of PURE silver and the rest is copper so you just get more free copper with 999 coins. @@lamarravery4094

Nope, no ASEs until i can get for same price as Maples, Phils, Brits. Ive got all i need from 1986 thru 2010 with some 21s and 22s. Bought more Maples and Phillys last couple years but even more rounds and bars in that time. ASEs just too much.
Uh huh....when? I dont, and didnt, plan on selling. Grab what i can at best prices, get more than buying ASEs. $25/oz or $30+/oz? U tell me! 😁 Keep up the good work. @SilverDragons47
Eagles? ... look pretty easy to counterfeit. 2023 Canadian Maples are much safer. ...and cheaper. I just seen them for $49 Can. on E with free shipping...now with the U.S exchange,,,thats a pretty good price.
That premium finally getting back to normal 🤓
Yeah! It's nice to see. Hope it drops some more, I'd love to get some older ones though. While the new reverse is nice, I love the old more. :)
